then I'd say this a battle in favor of War maachine. IF its the hman sized priginal then Megatron.

I'm inclined to agree. Megatron isn't just some big hunk of moving metal, he's the leader of a vast army of robots, not only because he's smart and ambitious but also because he's frickin' strong.

Megs didn't maintain leadership in a great war for millions of years out of luck, he's taking War Machine to school.

War Machine will out manuever Megatron. And then he'll Uni-beam the Decepticon's ass.

Plus, WM's armor might just be immune to anything Megatron shoots at him.

assuming classic (or even IDW) G1 Megs and Comic War Machine i'ld have to side with James Rhodes.

His first Warmachine armor was a mark 2 Ironman modestly out fitted with extra military missile arsenals. Later he gets alien tech, and even later enhanced with integrated Prime sentinel tech and a classic sentinel sized exo armor for it. I love me some Megs but basic Megatron never overpowered a gestalt that couldn't lift 100 tons. Honestly with Powermaster Prime boasting a punch under 50 tons I'm wondering how Basic Megs is going Hulk punch the tin can second string Iron man.

He's to small and fast a target to just shoot down so I'm thinking War Machine wins

Anyway, I think that many people are underestimating Megatron.

His G2 incarnation for instance has a good number of tricks up his sleeve:

Megatron completely annialates War Machine there is nothing War Machine can throw at Megatron that Megatron can't handle. Megatron has survived earth fall, has pawned Predaking, destroyed countless transformers, Destroyed Sentinel Prime whom had gone Apex on him and towered over Megatron. Remember Megatron is one of the most powerful transformers in existence not to mention one of the most durable and indestructible transformers. Even the Transformer guide claims that ono one yet has managed to determine or measure the exact upper limits of Megatrons power. Megatron wins without blinking an optic War Machine is ground into metal shavings and his body reduced to protoplasm.

WM wins through sheer Marvel movie magic and the spirit of Stan Lee!
