Any army of each of the stated go at each other in a giant war.

Edit: Situation 1: Everything shown back in their main time period.

Situation 2: Melee weapons only.

Situation 3: Melee weapons only but Vikings only have clubs.

Well it would depend on the type of war.

Is it a war fought mostly on land? Is the sea involved? Because that could change the outcome greatly.

If it was straight up combat I'd have to give it to the Samurai, as they're the closest thing to a trained melee combat unit.

Ninjas are more suited to stealth and assassination, Pirates are thugs and Vikings aren't much better.

Monks I'm not sure about, but I can't see any kind of martial arts standing up to an army of men in heavy armour with swords.

Viking's rule. They were built to fight, in fact that is there way to gain favor. Ninja's and Monk's would be looked unfavroble by the townspeople and Pirates are nowhere near as bloodthirst as many belive. Given the choise many pirates would consider themselves good people. However the norse belive that the only thing that makes a man a man is being a good warior

Vikings, because you can't really beat an army that is determined to win or die trying, else risk a one way trip to Hel.

Clearly, Monks win in the end through the use of philosophical debate. :-D
