Iceman is in an elevator shaft behind closed doors can he force the doors open before the elevator makes him go crunch?

Iceman creates an four-foot-thick wall of ice to halt the elevator, then freezes the doors to the point where a good solid punch would shatter them.
If he can fight Magneto, he can handle an elevator.

Honestly I haven't read a comic since the early 90's and don't remember Icy having to fight an elevator. I wouldn't have thought of the ice wall and freezing the doors. I was wondering if maybe an ice wedge would have been an option after reading Shadowman's response.

even without ice powers, he could just push open the sliding door. never mind ice powers to do damn neer anything.
possibilities include
stoping the elevator
making a wedge to open the door
cutting the elevator chain
breaking threw the elevator roof
breaking threw the celing of the building
making a comment about how silly this thread is

Actually most elevators have a safety mechanism that keeps the doors locked unless they are within 18" of a landing so opening them takes a Herculean effort.

And surely someone ho has the potential to be on the same level as Jean Grey would be able to make that effort.
He doesn't have to open the doors, in the sense that they slide open. He freezes them in the same way as liquid nitrogen, then punches the doors open.

Spoiler: Bobby Drake is an
Omega Level Mutant. He just holds his power back for fear of killing or
badly injuring people on accident. Trust me when I say he's a
powerhouse with his repressed powers. Imagine him if he weren't holding back.
(Yes I'm alluding to his AoA counterpart and the time Emma unlocked his powers when she possessed him.)

and most elevators don't actually go all the way to the top. also i've lived places where you could force the doors open. if teenagers could do it, i think an x-man can

Iceman is impossible. How can a man survive when all his tissues have been frozen solid?
