The Republic of Zeon and the Galactic Empire team up at one end, while the Earth Federation and the New Republic team up on the other. Assume that all four groups are at the height of their power.
Blow-by-blow, how does this ultimate war play out?

Republic/Feddies win. At the height of their power, the Federation was significantly more powerful than Zeon, hence why they won the One Year War, and continued to survive quite nicely for quite a while later. (At least until UC0220)

You know, the match-up doesn't really make sense at all.

Zeon wouldn't team-up with the empire, just because Zeon is trying to get their independence from the Earth, why would they team up with someone who is bent on controlling everyone with an iron fist?

I would see the Rebel Alliance and the Zeons working together against an empire controlled Earth Federation.

So, if somebody created a fantasy battle that had Megatron and Optimus Prime against Voltron, would I get to say that Optimus Prime would never fight a fellow defender of justice, that he would jump sides and fight Megatron? No, I wouldn't because once a long time ago, someone created such a fantasy battle, I tried such a tack, and I wound up not getting very far with it.

I'm the creater of this fantasy battle. You can make any decision on the outcome of the battle that you want (that's what makes this forum so fun), but those decisions have to be based on the parameters that I set down, regardless of how little sense they make to you. Also, please note that I had the Feddies teamed up with not the Rebel Alliance, but the New Republic, an organization who, at the height of their power, the Zeon would probably be less inclined to ally themselves with.

The Star Wars Galactic Empire is much more powerful and therefore wins.
