Okay, so, I haven't found this idea anywhere, so I thought I'd be the first to bring it up. In a battle against G1 Prime vs. Animated Prime, who would win?

G1 Prime is much more experienced and is very resourceful, as well as a crack shot, and incredibly strong. Animated Prime, on the other hand, is a bit more agile, is armed with a rather large axe, is a good fighter, and is great at thinking on his feet, though he's less experienced. I'm pretty sure Animated Prime could put up a fight, but I don't think he has what it takes to bring down the original Optimus.

While Animated Prime was a nice breath of fresh air into the prime lineage, he never did anything as bad ass as that

Finally, a reply! XD Yeah, that's the one thing, the only thing, that no Prime, not even movie Prime, can compete with.

I say Animated Prime. I mean that WAS the point of Optimus being "not leader" in Animated wasnt it? G1 Optimus was awesome from the start. Animated Optimus had to earn his rank and at the end of Animated, this version became one of my favorite Optimussess...s besides G1 and movie of course, but I think this one could kick G1's ass. Movie Prime would kick every one's ass and rip off their faces and hang them on his wall...

True, but you have to remember how resourceful G1 is, plus, as in the 1986 movie, there was always the fact that Prime always had this presence on the battlefield. When Autobot City is being destroyed, and the Autobots are on the verge of defeat, everything changes when Optimus comes rolling in to save the day. To me, he and movie Prime are the best incarnations of the character. But I appreciate your opinion nonetheless. Thanks!

Yeah, but Animated Optimus can fly AND has a giant axe and hammer that shoots lightning! But do you realize that Animated Optimus beat the living crap out of Megatron when he was a human!? A human beating the crap out of one of the most powerful Megatrons effar! Again... You know what? Some one should make a stopmotion out of this. And Id be the one to do it! Id calculate their weapons and multiply that by the ammount of times they won or lost in battle, then calculate the personality of each. Then only will we determine the real winner.

I know he can fly, but he had to have a jetpack built first, plus, that was Magnus' hammer. lol But oh well, you have good opinions though, I must admit.

I think you or someone else would have to make the stop motion though, although I'm decent at making them, I don't have an Animated Prime figure, just a G1 and a ton of others. =/

he beat up megatron in a dream. that doesnt count

Here's a good one, in the G1 episode, "A Plague of Insecticons", Optimus picked up a frigate and threw it at Megatron. Yes, a FRIGATE, and he threw it at Megatron!

So I'm guessing N_V, that you're on the side of G1 Prime as I am? (of course, that doesn't mean I want this topic to die, it would still be neat to hear other peoples' opinions)

That was always a cool weapon, it's a shame he only used it once in the show. But nevertheless, he has an axe too. Which means that just because Animated Prime has one, it doesn't really make a difference. Plus, G1 Prime can shoot energy beams out of his optics (seen in "Divide and Conquer"), and, he's got a GUN. Something that Animated Prime lacks...

Yeah, too amazed that he's having to fight the legendary Optimus that started it all. He just can't handle it. XD

Prime is good and all, but he had a tough time taking down one devstator. Animated prime fought 3 Omegas. Animated for the win

Animated Prime fought three Omega Supremes, true. But they were drones being controlled by Lugnut, and Prime was armed with a jetpack, and Magnus' all powerful lightning hammer. Without them, he would fare like G1 Prime would've against them. G1 Prime fights and wins with what he's got, and remember, there isn't much you can do when you're being gripped by a gestalt, but Prime was able to command his detached arm on the top of the tower in "City of Steel" to shoot Devastator. One good shot of Prime's weapon blasted Devastator off of the building.
