Galactus because Primus is fundamentally "Good" and not "Evil"(that would be Unicron). Galactus is a force of nature and is above such mortal concepts of good and evil. He does what must be done for the good of the cosmos. He brings balance to it.

And while I would have pitted him against Unicron (who is more like Galactus in that he's not stationary like Primus, and feeds off of planets), I feel that Galactus would pass over Primus (who is Cybertron), as he feeds off of the life energy that exists in living things. Other than in Beast Wars where we find out that Cybertron has an organic core, there is little to no organic life on Cybertron. Meaning that Galactus would detect little life and ignore it in favor of a more desirable planet to consume.

But if they fought Galactus would probably be able to take down Primus. Although they would probably be evenly matched in terms of strength (unless Galactus is very hungry), Galactus wields the Power Cosmic which from what it's been known to do is more powerful than the power Primus rules. In addition Galactus is rarely without a herald (who wields a fraction of the Power Cosmic), who could run interference and distract Primus. Primus has no heralds, and I don't consider the Primes/Matrix bearers to count as heralds. But if they do any one of Galactus' former or current heralds could obliterate any Matrix bearer in short time. Most likely in one attack.

Battle takes place with Primus vs. Galactus in a fight. No passing over, just a big fight. I think that Primus would win because of the following:

Galactus best feats: can obliter3 solar systems in a single blast, can teleport a galaxy.

Primus best feats: can destroy all of time and space with a portion of his power, can recreate all of time and space with a portion of his power, destroyed a multiverse destroying super black hole with a portion of his power.

not to mention that galactus has weaknesses like having to consume planets energies to survive, and he loses energy whenever he attacks or gets attacked. Whereas Primus has no weakness.

Primus, his first fight with Unicron nearly destroyed the universe he was trying to protect. Galactus will have nothing to feed on if he should win.

Galactus has never really had to fist fight anyone in the past, its very hard to compare these two.

Primus has never had anything hovered over his head that could overpower him save for the dead matrix. Galactus has but he exists in a universe teaming with super powers, Primus doesn't.

Despite all of that, I say Galactus, he's faced down a lot more in his long long life than Primus has. He's bound to have all sorts of tricks up those purple sleeves

I'd have to say Primus, but I'm a little biased.

I don't really know what Galactus does other than eat planets, but Primus can create life. If he can do that I'm sure he has more than enough power to take a guy his size

Galatus power is on a universal scale. Power rise Primus is multiversal

Galactus is also the soul survivor of the Universe that existed before the Big Bang. Meaning that while Primus has existed since the dawn of Time, Galactus pre-dates the Dawn of Time.

Primus puts Galactus in a blender, liquidises him, pours him into a bottle and throws him into the sea, where he sinks to the bottom and does nothing for millions of years. It turns out that Galactus was the Genie!
