let's stick with the comics who wins this fight?
I think it could go ether way,but I say wave takes it.

In the G1 comics, Shockwave owns Magnus, most likely without suffering a scratch. In DW, it would be a good fight, but as it's been seen, Shockwave would hand Magnus his ass.

Ultra Magnus is easily more powerful then Shockwave in the comics. Shockwave couldn't stand up to Galvatron, Ultra Magnus actually managed to defeat Galvatron at one point.

Hell, UM might be more powerful then Prime in the comics.

Its that armor that makes up for his lack of matrix power prime had in his chest.....

If Shockwave can shoot Magnus with enough power, he wins. Shockwave can use the entire EM spectrum with great skill, so he can also dazzle, irradiate, disrupt and bewilder Magnus.

However, Magnus is resilient and skilful so he might resist and/or avoid Shockwave's fire. He's a little larger than Shockwave so he should be stronger physically.

Shockwave has a high rate of energon consumption, so Magnus would last longer in a fight.

Magnus is excellent at improvisation while Shockwave is more regimented in his thinking. Shockwave can't always counter unexpected moves. If he wants to win, Shockwave should strike quickly and decisively or else he'll be outmanoeuvered by Magnus.
