The Nautilus vs. The Flying Dutchman

Nobody said we couldn't post Vessle battles, right? I think that the technological and underwater edge go to the Nautilus at first sight, but legends say that the crew of The Flying Dutchman are not only Immortal dammed, but the ship itself has been seen surfacing from below the depths, so they both have an underwater travel ability.
The nautilus also has firepower, but whos to say that would even effect a ghost ship?
So what will it be?
The close to modern Nautilus?
Or the mythological Ghost ship that defines seafairing legend?
Id'e like to hear your reasons behind who would win...

The Dutchman's supernatural, while the Nautilus is a technological tour de force.

As good as the Nautilus is, at the end of the day its still just a man made vessel, governed by the laws of physics, its not supernatural, and its not invulnerable or immortal. So for that reason the Dutchman wins.

yeah.. see, I wanted to post the Nautilus vs some underwater GI-Joe Vehicle... but my joe knowledge is bust... anything I thought up, the Nautilus would have torn apart. this was the closest match I could think up. While the crew is immortal, I don't know if the ship is... No-one's ever shot at it with today's weapons. legends say it was to fast for cannon fire, that it was never hit. but if it was hit, it might sustain damage... That's why I posted this. I think they are equally matched...

I'm guessing the leviathan isn't in the lineup for this fight, but I have to back the Nautilus. It has far better weaponry, and I'd wager its faster and more maneuverable.

Now, if the Dutchman's canons can penetrate the armored hide I'd have to say its a bit more up in the air. But the ironsides were a response to cannon warfare, but then you can argue that the nautilus's sides may not have been built to withstand them, instead to be merely able to hold in air at amazing depths.

of course, the captain of the dutchman may be immortal (to a point) but I can imagine that without a ship he'd have to hoof it. but this is speculation.

my final call is the nautilis. it may not be able to destroy the dutchman but it can knock it down, and keep knocking it down, restock and keep doing it. of course, if the dutchman can keep it up for years it can outlast the nautilus's aging captain. really, this one is a tough call. :-?

I read it, and I honestly don't know either... And it doesn't help that every time I see "Flying Dutchman" I think of the ghost on Spongebob instead of the ship... :BANG_HEAD:

Did I ever say there was? It's just a bit of a distraction that comes with the name.

The FD has no motivation to fight. Nautilus wins by default.
