Both from the Metal Gear series. Both ninja as f***. Who would win? My money's on Grey Fox

Raiden can take down armies of metal gear ray with his sword alone. Grey Fox got stomped out by ONE Rex. Yeah...

Yeah, Raiden. It helps that he no longer had a self-preservation instinct, so he'd be more willing to throw himself at dangerous situations. And like BP said, Gray Fox was killed by being crushed by Metal Gear REX, Raiden was crushed by Outer Haven and all he lost was the arm he didn't cut off just so he could save Snake from being crushed by Outer Haven. Then he started fighting by holding his sword in his teeth. He didn't last long fighting FROGs like that, obviously, but it's effort that counts.

Kind of redundant to say "One REX" isn't it? It's like saying Snake infiltrated ONE Shadow Moses, or set fire to ONE Big Boss.

And Raiden never faced down an Army of RAY with just a sword, he was using Stinger Missiles. I know the ending of MGS2 can be kind of confusing, but that was one of the things that was clear as day. Now, the Gekko? Sure, he could do that, but those aren't like fighting Metal Gear.

I ment in a sort of cross-calculating way he could. He takes down ray (That's a piloted ray, modified with blades at that, see tail) in the new trailer Very easely, with little to no effort. So, putting those rays in front of the improved cyborg raiden? They would die in minutes, I'm sure.

I'm sure there's more to it than simply walking up to a RAY and flinging it around like that, because it's an MGS trailer, and those always lie to us. Or do you still believe this? Of course MGS3 and 4 are just as guilty. Hideo Kojima even admitted that he specifically designs trailers to blatantly lie to the viewer, specifically showing things out of context, placing them at certain points to give false context, and even making things up entirely that never happen in the game.

Or replacing Raiden with Solid Snake.

I honestly think that's a good idea. Showing different thing that's not in the game so there's no spoilers. Leaving the entire game a surprise.

Except that's what ignited most people's hate with Raiden. I mean, he's a decent character in his own right, but the fact that he was shoved down everyone's throat with no warning whatsoever (Especially since everyone was expecting and promised to play as Solid Snake) soured him for most people. It was the same with the Arbiter in Halo 2, though most people warmed up to him after a while.

Yes, it can prevent spoilers, but it can also backfire massively.

Yeah. I forgot he was played in 2. And then when the story was beat they came out with chapters on what happened with snake. It should've been the other way around. The story was good atleast

That's not how it went. They didn't have missions that showed what Snake was doing during the main game, they had missions that had Snake as the playable character; none of them are canon and heavily contradict the main game.
