I never had a dog but I spent 41 years looking after cats. I got it down to an art. I read many books about it.

My Dad had a dog but it killed a few chickens and had to be put down. After that, it was cats only. And the occasional hamster.

I'm voting cats but both have their benefits and drawbacks.
