The first pic in this reply released months ago. Shows A UT Blaster a Half of a head Shorter than UT Mania King. In the first pic UT Blaster & Mania king Top chest parts scale the same height.
Flash forward,Months later,Yesterday. The second pic Shows a UT Blaster That is a full head & a Quarter Shorter than Mania King. UT Blaster's top chest part looks like it's about 3/4 of a inch shorter than mania kings.
So what's going on here? Perhaps UT Shrunk the UT Blaster final mold a bit to maximize profits?
Did the Final Version mold shrink in the oven like a Shrinky dink does?

Could be photoshopping issues and camera angles. Without other geometry around them, I'm not sure how flat the feet are on a surface. It is, indeed, a conundrum of size/scale.

It's due to Galvatron's legs. In the first pic, he has a wider stance, lowering his height. In the second pic his legs are closer together, allowing him to stand taller.

I know this is a far out theory, but i think the armor is supposed to homage the universe 2.0 blaster that was a repaint of cybertron soundwave.

the black armour is his Astro Harness, homaging DC Comics/Jack Kirby's New Gods character Orion...for some reason?
yeah, I dunno either. But I kinda like my completely BS theory now. Blaster was one of the big resistance guys on Cybertron for the 4 million years Optimus and his buddies were sleeping off a little crash landing, stands to reason he'd be a bit badass.

Re: UniqueToys Soundmixer (Blaster)
UniqueToys did a great job with the sculpting on this toy. It's hands down the best new Blaster toy created so far.
However this toy is simply not for me. Due to key issues I have with it. I need any new Blaster Bot-Radio toy to be in Scale with HasTak MP Soundwave. As I don't want two different scaled music-bots toys scaled toys.
Don't need 3rd party TF toys smaller in scale. compared the the 1980's TF toy version.
Having the cassette holder & Cassettes be smaller than the 1985 version. Is not something I want. Any new Blaster toy that transforms into a Radio. Needs to be able to fit all of the 1980's cassettes in his cassette holder.
My biggest problem with UT. Is the compact, simplistic transformations.
Under bulky, smaller scale toys they sell. UT's Predacons, the Sharkys & Soundblaster are the toys i'm referring to.
Mania King,I think is one of UT's superior toys. As it has higher sculpt. More complex transformation. It is around Seven & half inches tall in bot mode. My idea scale for this toy would have been the Nine & Half Leader toy scale.

He thinks classics figures are in decline. I think Unique Toys is doing a fine job giving us classics collectors new figures to enjoy. Their Predaking was a flop, but everything from the Sharkies forward has been a success.

I wouldn't want a Blaster taller than Galvatron anyway (were I buying their Galvatron, though I'm not) so I think compared to their other offerings, the size makes perfect sense.
I don't think their Predaking would be such a flop if it weren't for the competition from MMC and TFC. It still looks like a really great set and is on par with or even better than what I would expect from Has/Tak if they chose to take up doing combiners again with any level of seriousness/dedication (I think the FoC Combaticons where a half-hearted effort at best).

I actually liked the scale of UT Predaking, but a few things really kill it for me…
Beast modes - UT tried too hard to make the beast modes toy accurate. The end result is that the beast modes look like toys, almost as cute and cuddly as their vintage G1 counterparts. Both MMC and TFC offered beast modes that actually looked intimidating.
Cheating Divebomb wing extensions - Crazydevy upgraded vintage figures get a free pass, but on an original “neo” mold I expect better than that.
Spikes on side of combiners hands – Not my thing, I just don’t like it.
Yellow mini-skirt – Seriously, what was the point of that ? More and more TF’s both official and 3rd party are sporting these pointless Samurai style waist armor on their hips. Most recently Mania King, Paladin, Fortis, Bovis, and Thunderwing. I don’t like them and don’t know why that stupid trend was started in the first place.

MP-13 Soundwave was in Ultra Scale. The 2.0 classics line had Ultra sized toys in it. SO Creating a 3rd party Blaster toy in Ultra Scale. With fit in with both the Classics & MP scale.

So you’re saying MP scale is the same thing as ultra scale?
You seem to be quite the expert on larger scales…
But ultra scale seems to vary by height and bulk. I don’t think there is one true height or width for ultra class. And MP Soundwave towers over most of them, giving Ken a run for his money.

Yep, that's all true, though those are stylistic gripes more than anything. I'm sure some don't mind the spikes on the sides of the hands for example (though I'm with you for the most part on the samurai thing. If I wanted samurai style transforming robots I'd get into other lines like Robotech or Super Sentai. Let Bandai handle the samurai ****, I want straight up robots (and yeah, f**k Drift and f**k Bludgeon
Still, I think that if UT's set was produced by Has/Tak and priced comparably or just above the standard prices for Voyagers, many people (not just collectors) would've been all over them, with or without the competition from TFC and MMC. But in our world (the world of the hardcore collectors/3rd party collectors), it just didn't fly for the most part and our only choice was MMC or TFC (with most choosing MMC, obviously).
Anyway, I think this not-Blaster looks pretty good, but I still don't think I'm gonna get him. Of course if someone does a side-by-side with Music Label Soundwave and they look really good together, I might be inclined to change my mind.

So what do you guys think of this side by side photo of Soundmixer and his competition ?
I vote Megasteel , I haven't seen any images of MS for a while and was actually a little surprised at how awesome he looks with all that extra detail , since UT has been taking the spot light as of late i totally forgot about this .
To me the difference is almost like looking at MMC Ferocicons compared to UT Beasticons not in size but in detail .
