Maybe it's the law student in me, but I just can't help but wonder why the judge or jury didn't watch the entire tape when viewing the "evidence". I know I'm trying to use "real world" logic on an 80's cartoon, but I just can't think of a good reason.

As evidenced by Family Guy, cartoon judges & juries are idiots. Complete, utter idiots.
However, in all seriousness, they probably felt threatened by the Decepticons. If they asked to view more of the video, I could see Megatron saying "You've seen enough." and they'd be scared outta thier minds.

What I wanna know is, what kind of court can order someone off the planet!? That's like a court ordering someone jump off a cliff and sprout wings to fly away.

Transformers are technically illegal aliens, no passport, no visa, no greencard. It's the equivilent of deportation in their case.
the dinobots could be the exception, since they were made in america.

can you appeal deportation? i'm not sure what the'd be appealing. the only leg to stand on would be a grandfathering clause, since they were here 4 million years, before the US of A became a country.
but proving you were in a coma for 4 million years can't be easy

it wouldn't be hard for them to figure it out...actually, these are the same Autobots who built the Dinobots and made them stupid because "dinsaurs had small brains" too. Right. Maybe they were totally outmatched there then.

The real question is how was the human recording that footage not aware of the footage he shot because remember the Decepticons fooled him too not just the courts and he was actully recording the whole thing.
That entire episode was just porly wrighten, poorly animated, and should never be mentioned ever again.

Actually the guy shooting the footage never saw the end of the recording.
The camera was shoot off the helicopter before the cons took of their "Autobot costumes" and the rest of the tape was shot by a Decepticon..
But the guy's that must have later edited the tape must have been fooled.

Undergraduate education (usually 4 years)
Law school (usually 3 years)
Admission to the bar (usually by taking a state's bar exam)

Besides, the real issue here is "does an American court REALLY have the right to order people off the planet?" That would be one way to deal with the illegal immigration problem.

well you have to deport people back to their home country. in this case, cybertron. Since they are giant roblts from space, their sent back to space, which could entail cybertron

the costume had that mass altering extrademintional space thing, like how megatron shrinks in gun mode, or soundwave becons a boombox

The same way how his wings could hide inside the costume's body.
And what's more is that Starscream was fighting against the fake Autobots in that fake fight while disguised as Prime at that same time.

Re: Megatron's Master Plan, and the Trial
I recently saw the ep on youtube
I like the 2 parter except in two areas the major of the 2 being that trial.
Just going to randomly toss out what I saw wrong with it.
All the proof of the Autobots being evil from one tape??? Didn't the "Attack of the Autobots" episode happen before this one? And it wasn't used as a means of defense?
Megatron was taking control out the human's already as he was talking over the Mayor.
No sort of attempt made having a lawyer to argue things either side.
Biggest one, already mentioned--JUST THAT TOWN?

And at best that can be called "unrealistically animated" but the animation itself was wonderfully rendered.
Again the animation had errors but it was rendered beautifully.
Sabrblade wrote:The same way how his wings could hide inside the costume's body.

Which are all examples of errors and unrealistic characteristics of a costume.
None of which changes that the episode in question is one of the better animated and looking episodes of the G1 serries.

Oh yes, while G1 did have its moments, it was not without its flaws.
In fact, has there ever been a TF series that was near-flawless?
