It has the extra parts for forearms and chestplate. It hasn't been repainted into an alternate version or other characters. That's a 1 time use. So for you to say that they wouldn't do it, at cost for a one of is bull.

First off, these figures are "voyager" in size, but to say they're each worth $24.99 is just wrong. And the additional parts for Devs don't improve them.

And size is, generally, how all figures are classified. Regardless of their quality, our views on such and in comparison to their piers. So they ARE voyagers.

Sowndwave76 wrote:No CW figure is top-notch. But the Constructicons are not the same as the other voyagers such as Cyclonus.
--I'm not saying all other voyagers are automatically better than the Constructicons. In terms of appearance, Hook and Scrapper are two of my favorites of the whole line--
As much as I like the set, I know individually they're not true voyager class quality. That's a dead horse.

About the point we have some agreement on. Personally I think they're an upscaled design, I've even seen comments elsewhere that others agree in a greater magnitude, as they felt these were nothing more than an upscaled Cyber-commander class design.

As you're not swaying me, nor apparently am I you, we'd be best to just disagree on this matter.

I agree we disagree. That's been clear. You can think I've spent time discussing all of this in an attempt to sway you. That's pretty funny. I'm simply sharing my views and making points.
You've taken this subject completely off of my original point, which is fine I guess.
Happens in discussions.
But I never denied the CW Devs figures are voyager class in terms of size. You even quoted me.
Then you agreed with me about the quality aspect of these figures.
But you're still saying they're each worth $25. Fine.

This does get me back to my first point--
It's not so outrageous that Hasbro would want $120 for what would be THE ONE NEW Devastator set, even if the figures were deluxe class.
I've used other over-priced class sizes to back this point.
So what about other sets? Look at any of the Special Edition 3 packs.
--I get it's fewer figures that don't combine. I bring this up to talk about prices--
Three re-painted deluxe figures, and in a couple cases two of the figures are basically the same! For what $50?? I don't know the cost for sure but I'm betting it wasn't a "deal" of $29.99... And I wouldn't doubt if SRP was > than $50.
This has happened, multiple times now.
And while a bit subjective, what's a bigger deal and more "special";
Repaints of deluxe Cyclonus, Hot Rod, and Galvatron, or the first legitimately new Devastator?
Those three packs are marked-up X% (even though they're really special), but Hasbro would sell their one new Devastator set at cost simply because of the price of regular deluxes??

If you or anyone else really think this just because "Well but ya see that's the price according to cost of each figure in the set"...
Then yeah, I most definitely agree to disagree. Moving on.

Wait wait wait. what point are you actually debating here? or rather what was the original point of contention?

To me it seems like you're arguing about what price a hypothetical deluxe devy would cost.

Right, now I see. Given hasbro pricing I fail to see why he would be priced as six deluxes...but that's neither here or there for a toy that does not exist so far.

Though thinking about it, a new series of six man combiner teams including completely new teams would be awesome.

Check out the clip embedded below, and take a stroll down memory lane too, with the first version of the loud neon character here, and the Fall of Cybertron take here, too!

I really feel most of the wording used in that promo would be more fit for Menasor.

Went to great lengths to recreate G2
Exemplifies everything that is cool about G2: bright colours, agressive style
Cool for fans to have an opportunity to have him

This is all more for Menasor who we never had an opportunity to own before and who is more G2 styled than Bruticus since he actually has G2 symbols.

Also, Hasbro finally confirms that indeed Shockwave references the Action Master deco.

I still wish we'd get a CW G2 Defensor. No one ever got to own an original G2 Defensor, either.

Keep on wishing, I am with you 100%. I am really *hoping* against all odds for all the same reasons, and more, we see something at SDCC. LioKaiser as far as I know has not been confirmed as the end of CW(although to be fair, Hasbro rarely announces when something is over, only when it starts). But for completeness sake, if no other, we need a G2 Defensor.

I don't see why they wouldn't. They can milk the molds for more money than releases of the individual figures. And they've only released the First Aid version of that mold three times; as First Aid, UW First Aid, and UW Ratchet. It's the least used, so you'd think they'd want to sell more versions of it to recoup more of the cost.

In that case, that means Hasbro only used the first aid mold once. We really shouldnt count takara with mold use because they really are independent companies and what one does does not have impact on what the other one decides to do in the end.

At this point the CW molds have been completely tapped out and everyone's eager to jump on TR. G2 Defensor is an incredibly tough sell at this point. Wouldn't surprise me if we never even see Liokaiser, either.

Liokaiser is a done deal, he's likely already been produced, or is being produced right now... G2 Defensor would make for a nice sdcc exclusive next year, or down the road, you know, whenever hasbro decide to start offering actually good exclusives there >:oP

The final wave of Transformers Combiner Wars Voyager Class figures are now showing up at Ross. The figure in this wave that will pique the most interest is Sky Lynx as some had trouble finding it at regular retail. Onslaught was also spotted at Ross. If you are still on the hunt for these figures now is the time to start hitting your local Ross stores. The figure in the image below was found at Ross in Wichita, KS for $13.99.

Hasbro really has no control over what stores order. Blame the retailers like Toys R Us, Walmart, Target, etc...

I have been into transformers since 1984.
While I love G1 I also love new innovations and takes on the characters.
I prefer official Hasbro releases of stuff for the most part
I'm not a huge fan of Japanese original Transformers media or designs.
It's easier for me to say which are my LEAST favorite toy lines: Beast Machines, Robots in Disguise.

Come on man, dont you know Hasbro has nothing to do with this? This is all on the retailer end. These came to North America in abundance a few months ago, as proof of this toy being found elsewhere in very large quantities.

Image

However, the retailers had a lot of older stock they probably over ordered they wanted to clear first. And now that titans return is near, Toysrus and others dont want the older line and either chose not to buy more from Hasbro or to sell their excess stock to market 6 stores. This happens often and is rarely the fault of the supplier.
