[D-Maximal_Primal]

With Computron's coming out left and right with wildly differing paint work and molding choices, Seibertron.com is proud to bring to you today our galleries of Transformers: Combiner Wars Computron with the Technobots and Scrounge!

Computron himself is comprised of 6 different bots, each from a different mold. The leader, Scattershot, is based on the Silverbolt mold with some new alt mode parts and a new robot mode head. Strafe is a retool of Air Raid, complete with all new jet mode retooling. Afterbreaker is a retool of Deluxe Groove with a new windscreen and robot mode head. Lightsteed is a straight redeco of Streetwise and Nosecone is a straight redeco of Brawl. Rounding out the team is new bot Scrounge and shuttle partner Cybaxx, who are a retool and a redeco, respectively, of Cosmos and Payload and are the first representations of the characters in plastic form.

In all honesty, I'm thinking of cancelling my pre-order for the UW version and get this one. It is looking better and the gallery is beautiful. Plus. he does look better combined than I previously saw and he's much cheaper and I want Scrounge

Pretty sure you can't cancel pre-orders with TFSource (I remember you saying that you had ordered him from there).

You can cancel a pre-order at any time. it's once it comes in stock you can't cancel. I feel bad for Roadbuster though since I'll need to ship him separately and overall he'll come to more than MSRP and he's been selling for like $6 on HTS

Edit: Just saw the note. Though I can't help but wonder why they didn't make the guns removable like that in the first place.

That's the one thing I hate about the set, but he'll be combined most of the time and I really want Scrounge more than ever. Plus, even with the Superion head the combined mode still looks good and I'm liking the color diversity more.

The thing is, if these were sold as separate figures, the one I'd be most interested in would be Lightspeed (well, after Scrounge). Just because he looks so unlike Lightspeed, I could make him be a different character entirely.

Scattershot could be white and pink, nosecone could be purple, strafe could be yellow and green, afterburner could be white and blue, and light speed could be yellow and blue

Actually, we know what G2 Strafe would look like:

Meaning he could be a straight-up Air Raid redeco without any of that pesky retooling!

This set is so good in hand. I haven't seen so much paint slathered on a Hasbro release in a long time. These galleries really show how well he and his individual members actually do match up with their G1 counterparts. Even Lightsteed, especially in car mode, is closer to his counterpart than you might think at first glance.

I did see that but I also noticed that they dropped the ball on Strafe since the Takara one ends up being way more toy accurate. I have no clue why Hasbro chose to have the connector port be orange instead of white and all those extra colours on his chest come from nowhere. Like Combiner Wars Brawl, strafe ends up being an odd man out when it comes to toy accuracy.

The Computron galleries took way longer than I had anticipated ... plus I've had the flu or really bad cold for the past week and managed to destroy one of my camera lenses during the process of photographing both Computron sets (thanks to me taking apart a lens to try to get rid of some dust that was causing the lens to not focus properly and then being unable to get it back together properly after 8 hours). UW-08 Computron set will be posted soon. Just finished the photos for MP-31 Delta Magnus!
