He is a hero from the future, whose courage, skill and wisdom are needed again, to lead the Autobots in their fight against Megatron and his evil plans for the planet Earth. Wise and strong, Optimus Primal councils Optimus Prime in the ways of defensive combat and serves as custodian of freedom. Helps others find their own strength to keep fighting despiste the odds. Brave and intelligent, he belives wholeheartedly in his cause and lights the fires of justice and truth in others.

Sabr, just from what future did Fireconvoy come from anyway? In the Japanese continuity anyway? Lio and Big came thousands of years after Primal if I got it right. So what about well these guys?
It's never stated. Though, Fire Convoy did mention that he and Gigatron had known each other for 3000 years, but that could suggest a number of things.fenrir72 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Just further fuel to the fire of Car Robots/RiD 2001 being a part of the Beast Era (real world chonology-wise, not continuity subfamily-wise).

Continuity, CR is supposed to slot in between G1 season2 and the movie, according to TFWiki, with some of Takara's creative edtting and a story that seems to "magic" everyone away for a time.

Only sort of. It isn't outright stated what time period Fire Convoy's Cybertrons and Gigatron's Destrongers came from, but the Destrongers using the insignia would suggest a point after the Great Upgrade in the Japanese timeline. However, there's still the notion of the Destrongers still being large-sized Transformers instead of the human-sized ones that the Beast Wars characters were, so if the Destrongers did come from a / future era, we can only assume that, for whatever reason, they didn't downsize like the rest of 'em.william-james88 wrote:Like Protoman had said? http://www.seibertron.com/energonpub/the-true-transformers-g1-timeline-what-to-watch-and-in-what-order-t102036.php#p1613182

Be careful how you use "RID" instead of "Car Robots" since RID's in its own continuity while Car Robots is the one in the JG1 timeline.william-james88 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Only sort of. Oh, the way I understood was that RID was much much after Beast Wars (long enough for the world to get back to what it looked like in the early 2000s, starting from ashes) and thus in Transformers evolution, the Maximals and Predacons gave way to a new breed of autobot and decepticon which resembled the g1 transformers of old.

Anyway, Car Robots is officially set in the year 2000 with its Cybertronian characters coming from a future era that's never been officially determined.
Sure. Which part is confusing you?william-james88 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Be careful how you use "RID" instead of "Car Robots" since RID's in its own continuity while Car Robots is the one in the JG1 timeline.

Oh man, this is so complicated. But thanks for not giving up on me Sabr.

Yep. It just wasn't made clear until 2007 since, at the time, the show was mostly self-contained and didn't boast about what continuity it resided in, so most took its self-isolation to mean that it was a completely new continuity altogether. The English RID dub likewise took this idea to heart and ran with it.NuclearConvoy wrote:I had no idea that Car Robots was actually in the JG1 continuity.

But really, because it's so standalone, it's able to occur in the JG1 timeline in the year 2000 with virtually no conflict with other media, as there's a lot of time that occurs between 1985 (G1 cartoon seasons 1-2) and 2005 (G1 movie).
First it was the 2006-2007 Kiss Players timeline, then it was the Kiss Players Position and Teletraan-15 Go! Go! fiction itself, which heavily involved Brave Maximus in the JG1 timeline.NuclearConvoy wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Yep. What source ties it into G1?

Oh man, Kiss Players. I still need so many toys from that odd line. Probably the only line where the packaging is as much a part of the goods as the toys.
