It does seem like the brand is overextending themselves with the numerous flavors, but all they must do is refocus a bit. They will want to continue with different segments by target audience/age range, but pull back on the number of figures/variations in each line.

Moving on from the negative, does anyone that have the figures released so far have their own thoughts when compared to the previous lines (like QC issues or how stable they are)?

I have the 4 deluxes. The dinobots are awesome. Overall the figures are very good. With the exception of Jazz, I haven't noticed QC or stability issues. With Jazz, it's a bit tough tabbing in the sides in alt mode. I also found him to be floppy as a limb. RTS Jazz is still better IMO.

I heard someone say that they're smaller than previous Deluxes from CW/TR. Especially the Dinobots. Is that true?

Nope, I've yet to see any indication of that. If anything, using Dreadwind as a yard stick, I'd say their size is the same as before. The Dinobots only look smaller because their parts are compressed more.

As much as I hate to say this, all signs point to Transformers imploding hard in the coming years. The fact is, Transformers as a brand has been on shelves, often with several series or toylines on shelves for a decade now and has existed in this state since at least 2007.

You say all signs, but I'd like you to name just one valid sign. Something shelf warming at your local Walmart doesn't count. The fact is Hasbro has been showing showing strong sales for transformers and revenue has been climbing with Hasbro usual pointing at Transformers as a contributing factor. Yes, they've done some unusual things with TR like the constant revision waves and only one new figure in all of wave 6, but that's from them experimenting with fan demand and retailer series-end drop offs, not a faltering in the lines. And any peg warming is the fault of the retailer and has been a consistent issue since the Unicron Trilogy and not even unique to Transformers anyway.

As it stands right now there's nothing indicating the franchise coming to a temporary hiatus any time soon, not when they're currently successfully handling four franchises (soon to be three: PotP, Authentic/Evergreen/whatever the cartoon is called, and the new movie line). Transformers long ago found its balance between kids, collectors, and nostalgic parents. As long as people keep having kids and Hasbro doesn't shake up things too drastically the franchise will remain healthy.

Doesn't mean I'll buy Grimlock, but I see an improvement with this transformation.

Still no sign of the Prime Masters at Target or even TRU online. Bought the TR Arcee pack out of pure impulse, however, since I was at their website. And I really wanna see how she looks on Misfire's transtector.

I like seeing all the creativity going into fixing this combiner. I’ve been excited about getting the dinobots for awhile. Hasnro got my hopes up, but when I saw Grimlock it became clear that the ivory tower toy makers at hasbro dont actually play with toys. Nor do they understand the concept of building bots of the future while honoring the past. (See Abrams Star Trek for an example) I remember when the protype was revealed at Hascon. The designer had such a look of pride on his face. I hope he can someday redeem himself.

Also, why the skimping on dinobot weapons? Grimlock needs a desire and double barrel blaster!!!

Also his instructions only refer to this as his super robot mode, doesn't seem to have its own name and uses the deluxe wave one bots as his limbs.

I admire your creativity. It's not that I cant come up with fan fiction, its just that, its not official if I do. I can justify head canon ideas between & much easier . I often will use the names of the latter if the formers' are not to my liking.

Are we getting a Female Autobot Combiner?

It's been my hope since the leaks first came out. We currently have 60% of a female combiner confirmed, just like we have 60% of a Starscream Combiner. I'm hoping comes through, even if doesn't.

I already have them both. But having one based on characters from the original series and not "Fan Made" would definitely be more desirable IMHO.
