Nah, the art is a bit too different, I think Grimlock is separate from Starscream and Bee.

Shouldn't all this be moved to the Cyberverse thread anyway, since unless this is faked it's pretty much confirmed that this concerns that and not POTP?

If the art is real, it's possible Bee and Starscream might be repacks/repaints of older Legion/Legends figures, like the Ultra Magnus and Skywarp in, I think, Dollar General.

Cyberverse - Oh Hasbro you so love to sow confusion in your wake don't you by naming a product segment after another one that wasn't that long ago.

Those could be normal Transformers card backs - but they might also be something like a toy car or some other licenced product using the generic images - that have been showing up increasingly.

Wasn't that bee on some kids sit on and ride on car too.

A set of those Busy Book figures sell on eBay for about $7.00 or you can get the whole book for $10-13 too. I'm going to get a set soon to use with my base bots.

P.S. Grimlock says "Some assembly required" - which is a bit odd.

So, new thread.

So far, I like those designs a lot and I do hope it's own continuity.

My favorite TF cartoon so far was Prime, after Animated. RID was a total borefest so I dropped it after the Megatronus ark. Let's hope this next cartoon will be better, with amazing toys to match.

This is... very strange.

-Hasbro makes a new design for Starscream based heavily upon but stylized from his G1 self for a POTP Voyager
-They ask IDW to use it ahead of time in TAAO
-They then proceed to use it in the new Cyberverse show

They want this design in everything but the Movieverse -- this is bizarre. Is this what they want Starscream's standard design to be now? Because I'm all for that; this is way cooler than the original.

New Possible Transformers Cyberverse Grimlock Packaging Art

Postby Va'al » Sat Sep 02, 2017 4:52 am

Motto: "Till All Are Pun!"
We have an update on those rumoured new toy packaging designs from - potentially - the new Cyberverse animated series that will run after Robots in Disguise is over, from our regular Weibo source tf-factory! The update is in fact a shot of the same packaging stile card, but featuring Grimlock, detracting a little from the 'model kit' idea that had been floating about since the last reveal. Check it out below, and keep those speculation wheels turning!

I don't think that detracts at all -- they'd simply be using the same packaging art for multiple products. We see it all the time; like with Sideswipe here.

'Some assembly required' does not mean you need to build it. And having the same card art as the other toys suggests that it may just be a weapon or something - given that other toys that require no assembly also have the same wording.

Is what I meant.

That Grimlock art we first saw is just the front window card wraparound.

Exactly. Most likely you have to snap the dino head onto the figure like we did TR Skullsmasher.

Yet More Rumoured Transformers Cyberverse Packaging Art: Grimlock, Optimus, Megatron

Postby Va'al » Sat Sep 02, 2017 8:27 am

Motto: "Till All Are Pun!"
In the continued multilateral effort to spoil as much new content as possible, we have some more packaging art for the currently speculated Cyberverse toyline - we will know more after Hascon next week, probably - with the back of Grimlock's packaging being now accompanied by some Optimus Prime and Megatron artwork too.

Check out the images mirrored below from usual Weibo user tf-factory, and join the discussion in the Energon Pub.

I wonder what will be the size of these figures? Deluxes or scout? :-?

Still, look interesting enough.

I dont know that I agree with you on that. Look at Grimmy's fist holes. If we assume those are a standard size, those look more like 5mm than the 3 that Legin used. Could totally be wrong, mind you.

Its the same as the RID warriors. A Legion packaging would be too small for the instructions to be printed in the back.

Anyways, about these toys it looks like Hasbro through their arms in the air and went "**** it! Fans want G1 again, here's G1 again, same tranformation, same design, same **** everything now leave us the **** alone!"

And about that grimlock not being a model kit, yeah I can totally concede to that now but the "no tools required" is still super odd to see.

Ooof, that doesn't look too great. It has that same sort of awkwardness and bad chunkiness that some of the early RiD Warrior Autobots had.

Like the RiD Warriors though, I hope this is only an indicator of how the line will start out and not how it will continue -- and we will instead get some awesome gems later on.
