Can one of the Transformers lore keepers here explain to me why Cratermaker and Fireline look exactly like Powerbomb and Gunlift from Japanese G1 (Zone), but are branded here as Decepticons instead of the Autobots they originally were?

Most likely they wanted to have some sort of familiar decos to use for the molds' redecos, but also probably wanted to have an equal number of Autobot and Decepticon weapon pairs in the whole Siege line (seven pairs of each), and so made Cratermaker and Fireline into a new Decepticon team.

Though, back in 1990-1991, Takara sold nearly all of the Decepticon Micromaster teams as Autobots instead, so this new Micromaster team colored like two Japanese-exclusive Autobot Micromaster decos but sold by Hasbro as Decepticons is kinda like an inverse of how Takara made almost everyone into an Autobot in Japan back in the early 90s.

That's got to be one of the most convoluted, weirdest homages Hasbro has done with a repaint. Wow.

It's just conjucture, really. For all we know, they were like:

"We need redeco ideas"
"What about those Japanese toys?"
"O, all right. Let's make them Decepticons, I mean, redecos back then switched sides, right?"

So, I recently got Soundwave. Definitely enjoying this figure, but he definitely needs his cassettes. The vehicle modes aren't great, but they're acceptable. Just wish they'd gone with the tank/SUV of the WFC/FOC Soundwave

So War for Cybertron: Siege is winding down. Which ‘bots do you wish you had seen in the line? For me, the Autobot is Sunstreaker and the Deception is Blitzwing. Sunstreaker could have easily been a slight mod to the Sideswipe mold and would have been great with his bro. Blitzwing is just a personal favorite (I got the original off the shelf) and I would have loved to see an update.

I wasn't gonna get that mold at first, but after replaceing my Deluxe Classics Seekers with a bunch of Voyager size Siegekers and adding non-armored Siege Shockwave to put next to Voyager size Megatron, it kinda feels weird to have Soundwave in there as a suddenly gigantic by comparison Leader class figure. I'll definitely keep the TR figure in the display, but I think the Soundblaster version of the Siege dude is a definite purchase for me now. The only thing is that I love all of the TR cassettes; especially Rumble and Frenzy; and I don't really wanna replace them in my display with the kinda dinky Siege Micromaster versions. I guess they can all coexist on the same shelf. No big deal.

I got Jetfire about a week ago from Pulse. He is awesome and basically perfect Sunbow G1 Skyfire I always wanted. I love the scale size, transformation, weapons and cool new engineering of the hands along his backpack booster. He looks so good with his Decepticon symbol next to my Planet X WfC Starscream. Just great stuff all around and has me excited for commander class size SkyLynx

More I see Barricade the more I almost want to get him. But I still think I like my TFCC Barricade w/Frenzy slightly more. Already having Prowl and soon Smokescreen in that mould also makes him easier to skip.

Does anyone else think that Spinister may be repainted into Rotorstorm? Thats the only reason I am thinking of holding off getting him.

Also does anyone else think we may get new voyager class Cyclonus and Scourge molds in the next part of this trilogy. Seeing as its a big push for Sunbow G1 accurate Cybertronian alt modes? I would love at least good voyager Scourge.

Apeface and IDW Impactor cant get here soon enough.

We'd only get scourge and Cyclonus if the bot mode scale needs fixing. Afterall, Hasbro would argue we've just had scourge and Cyclonus in the past few years and one of them had a nigh on perfect G1 alt mode. If we see a new Galvaltron, then we might see those two to correct the scale but otherwise, just play it by here.

Not in the plans I'm afraid. Besides, a third member of the Air Strike Patrol, Nightflight, is in the Micromaster 10 pack as a redeco of Visper.

I will be shocked if we don't get a Sunstreaker in next year's line. I want to complete the '85 Deluxe Cars lineup, and I trust that will happen across the entire WfC line. I'm also happy with TR Blitzwing, though my copy has QC issues with the chest. I wouldn't have thought twice about him, except that Astrotrain is amazing.

I would like to see Generations versions of characters from other media. Barricade was a pleasant surprise, but kind of a one-off. Strongarm needs a high-quality release, and after their appearance in the comics reboot, I would also like to see Shadow Striker and Flamewar.

Honestly, any new fembot molds would be appreciated. I'm glad we got a half dozen across Siege and Selects, but hopefully the next WfC line keeps the gender representation while introducing new designs.

Yeah, I’m familiar with the G1 transformations, I have both original Lambos. I just thought that would be an easy mod for Hasbro rather than a completely new mold. Some have mentioned using the back of the Sideswipe mold ending up as the front of a potential Sunstreaker figure.

Speaking of Wheeljack, that would be another figure I would like to have seen.

But then the car hood wouldn't be the legs. We have had enough half assed sunstreakers in the past, i am sick to death of him always getting just a placeholder figure.

If anyone is worried about "same vehicle = same robot mode", don't. Two characters sharing the same vehicle with a different robot mode has been done before

For me Blitzwings already got a decent update in TR/Legends so I'd want the other micromaster team mates doing and a return to legends class figures to finish of the minibots (but only if they are moving away from the not quite cybertronian/not quite earth alt modes).
I know Potp had inferno but hes one of the few updates that's a just a minimal effeot repaint rather than being a true visual representation of him (great for stickering up as other characters tho).

I'd like to see a new Sunstreaker and Tracks. But, if we get a Wheeljack, I'd rather it have his hovervan mode from More than Meets the Eye because he's one of the few characters with an actually shown Cybertronian mode. Also about Tracks, it'd be nice to see a Generation Selects repaint into Road Rage if we get him in the next part, especially since she's appearing in the new comics

Wouldn't they be shellformers like Starscream given they have to transform into cartoon accurate robot modes, with kibble reminiscent of the earth alts
