Ok so a lot to unpack here and please remember, these are rumours, not facts. Also, since some rumours go into 2022, it could be that this is what is planned now and it could change between now and then. Like how Gnaw and Brawn were slated for T30 releases and how Titans Return Alpha Trion was gonna be released prior to the TR line without the extra ship mode.

With that preamble out of the way, here are the rumours currently floating around on the internet from various sources (which we will not name directly in case they wish to not be named) which we have compiled here for you.

There will be a lot of exclusives coming, as there have been in previous years. However, Hasbro will be changing it a bit to help Americans who may not have access to those retailers. Usually, all stock of exclusives are sent to the buyer (that being the retailer) but now Hasbro will keep 5% of the stock to sell via Hasbro pulse. So if you have no Walgreens near you, you could buy it on Pulse. But remember, 95% of that toy's stock is still going to Walgreens.

Walgreens exclusive for 2021 is Earth Mode Red Alert

Two Amazon multipacks coming in 2021, Earth Mode Sideswipe (retool) + Beast Wars Grimlock (voyager BW Dinobot redeco) and Earth Mode Mirage (same mold, new deco) + Beast Wars II Skywarp (the eagle figure that was part of Magnaboss but it doesn't combine)

A rerelease of MPM Barricade and MPM 77 Camaro Bumblebee will be part of the Target exclusive Buzzworthy toy line.

Speaking of that line, it will most probably include other iterations of Bumblebee, like his animated form.

Now the next rumour sounds the toughest to believe yet but here it is, there will supposedly be a whole Shatterred Glass line exclusive to Hasbro Pulse. The characters in that line are said to be Jetfire, Megatron, Starscream and Goldbug.

Beast Wars Megatron is rumoured to have 2 upcoming redecos: T-Wrecks and the T-rex from Jurassic park one (probably another of those Crossover toys). They are both exclusives.

There will be 3 additional exclusive seekers based on the Studio Series Bumblebee Movie Starscream mold and they will all be exclusive:

Thundercracker is Amazon exclusive
Skywarp is Walmart exclusive
Thrust is Target Exclusive

While many are hoping for a beast wars Inferno, Tarantulus and Terrorsaur (still the number 1 character Hasbro has yet to do justice to) 2022 will only give us Tarantulus. It will not be based on the Blackarachnia mold. The Crococilde Fossilizer may still happen.

There will be Sweeps (based on Scourge mold of course) and Junkions coming, the line they will be released in is not certain (since now there are 3 lines where a G1 character can be found).

All remaining G1 Dinobots will eventually see the light of day.

There will be an SS86 Coronation Starscream with remolded shoulders and wings in 2022 (this presumes that it will be the same mold at Earthrise Starscream).

Oh and ER 28 was supposed to be Earth Mode Sideswipe

Yeah, some of this stuff feels like it was supposed to come out as planned but the sales weren't as strong given COVID messing things up. Some of this stuff sounds promising, mainly Earth mode Sideswipe, MPM stuff, Animated Bee, I guess the Shattered Glass stuff, the Studio Series Seekers, the Preds, Junkions, and the Dinobots. Still, some of the comments made on which line would fit best sums up the issue of having too much G1 and resulting in an unclear place for specific figures while the thing that really upset me was the lack of non-BB Screamer repaints in the Studio Series line. I was really hoping to see Evasion Prime, The Fallen, maybe another Dinobot from AOE, Jolt, the Twins, etc be mentioned because it just can't be Dino, Starscream, ROTF Bee, and B-127 that's from the actual movies the line's been about, right? Either way, good luck with all that juggling.
Action Figure Wishlist:

POTP (Optimal Optimus, Rodimus Unicronus)
Titans Return (Blitzwing, Astrotrain)
All the Combiner Wars Aerialbots
Studio Series and WFC repaints
TFP Soundwave
Cybertron Galvatron
G1 Megatron (cheapest option would be the Chronicle 2-pack)
MPMs for cheap prices

My G1 Starscream needs fists. He's the Collection reissue and can't have a coronation without fists!

Mainly just care about the WFC stuff. I usually only get SS stuff when it's on sale and the only MPM I'm missing is Jazz so those rereleases aren't for me. The Amazon two packs sound nice, though BWII Skywarp rumored to exist as an exclusive does put a damper on the theory that the mold is being retooled for Magnaboss.

Shattered Glass as a Pulse exclusive does make sense since they got the Optimus/Ratchet two pack. Plus it gives us a Jetfire repaint and since Kingdom Galvatron is already expected to have extra armor parts to look like the Energon figure the SG character is based on it would be a very easy repaint. Starscream would no doubt be the Siege Seeker mold again in Jetfire's colors, I think that would look pretty cool. Goldbug would probably be a repainted Bugbite, Cliff's body with Bee's head, unless there's a built in GB head for the mold and there might be. But I would really love it if it was a repainted SS86 Hot Rod since the original SG Goldbug used the Cybertron Hot Shot body. I would guess Jetfire and Megatron would be sold individually while Starscream and Goldbug are sold together.

Depending on how they turn out/what molds are used, the Shattered Glass stuff is the most exciting for me here, followed by those Junkions. Zero interest in more Siege redos with earth modes, and those particular beast characters packed with them are ones I have no attachment to whatsoever. Curious to see how the Rexy crossover will work, are they going to make them a fembot?

That said, I have been lurking around some of these sources digitally for a few days now absorbing info to talk about when I could, so some clarifications already:
Quantum Surge wrote:I was really hoping to see Evasion Prime, The Fallen, maybe another Dinobot from AOE, Jolt, the Twins, etc be mentioned because it just can't be Dino, Starscream, ROTF Bee, and B-127 that's from the actual movies the line's been about, right?
Further Bayverse SS stuff is supposed to happen, source mentioned another Prime, The Fallen, and possibly Sideways in the works currently, plus Jolt, ROTF Sideswipe, and Grindor w/ Ravage already had leaked listings for this year before this stuff.

Emerje wrote:Shattered Glass as a Pulse exclusive does make sense since they got the Optimus/Ratchet two pack. The source these are from SPECIFICALLY said that SG Megatron will use the Siege/ER Megs mold rather than Kingdom Galvatron, which doesn't make much sense from an accuracy standpoint, but does line up with how they did SG Ratchet (who should have been a Grapple repaint/retool to match his original SG design if they were going for perfect accuracy, instead of being G1 Ratchet's body in SG colors). They also didn't mention if these 4 names are the only SG releases or not, so I'm personally hoping we can also get SG Wheeljack, Soundwave, Sideswipe, and Grimlock out of this (although some of those are probably more likely than others).

I believe the source also mentioned the following:
-Tap-Out and Glyph are supposedly still happening somewhere, after being conceived for and then shifted out of the Galactic Odyssey sets
-We should be getting another set like the Centurion Drone Pack in some way
-Netflix Spoiler Pack 3 will be another Megatron repaint of some kind, with the Allspark and a clear purple Paleotrx repaint to give him his mace (Marked as a spoiler because the original source did so, claiming it to be a somewhat major spoiler for the show)
-Netflix Deep Cover, Barricade, & Seeker will all be Sparkless repaints
-Netflix Deluxe "Quintesson" will be the Ironhide repaint Quint drones from Earthrise show
-prior Selects rumors from 4chan Kingdom wave leak are true (Artfire, toy Galvatron, Road Rage, Transmutate from Paleotrex, Deep Cover from specifically the Earth Sideswipe, G2 Ramjet, the previously mentioned T-Wrecks)
-Some variety of "cybertron Bee" happening in Buzzworthy, theorized to be G1 pilot episode saucer Bee (backed up by a separate source saying Buzzwortthy would include a design "never released by Hasbro before")

Hopefully Mirage will be a new mold rather than a repaint, if earth mode Sideawipe fixes the issues with the siege figure it would be a shame for Mirage to be one of the few figures stuck with a poor alt mode.
G2 mirage would look great alongside the beasts too even if it was out of the siege figure.

Some interesting rumours here :-? I don't care one bit about Shattered Glass thus I can live with that being an online line only. The Jurassic World crossover has me curious. Wasnt Dominions date shifted from an earlier date? Does this mean that Hasbro has took advantage of the new date and the release of the Kingdom toyline? I think they could have easily done a retool of Siege Hound to turn into the classic Jurassic Park jeep

One of the other rumors in this also claimed that Titan class may be retired after the Ark to let us have two Commander class toys per year instead of one.

Great, so we're never going to get that blasted Metroplex reissue we desperately need.
WANT:
Cybertron Galvatron, with both backpack halves and the claw weapon, at a price not to exceed $42 total

It's funny how many people seem to believe that the less conservative party is going to make the country into (more of) a fascist surveillance state. I'm going to call the Jurassic World crossover false. Mattel has had the master toy license since 2016 and has had new product coming out consistently. I didn't see an end date for the license, but if they were going to be switching before the new movie, I think we would have heard by now, since the announcements are done in advance of the toy lines.

Since the rumors are from "various sources," I won't cast doubt on any of the others, but we least this one leaker is probably making things up.

Same, and all Collaborative toys have been major retools to new molds; simple redecos are a no go from the looks of it.

A new King Kong reboot movie is far more likely
The resident Rewind... well, half of one

Doesn't mean anything. Hasbro/Kenner has always had the Star Wars toy license and yet Mattel was able to make a "Child" doll. It's all in the specifics of the license. If Mattel's JP license doesn't mention "changing robot toy" or something then Hasbro is in the clear to fill that gap.

Mattel has limited rights to Star Wars to make plush dolls and small vehicles, especially under the Hot Wheels brand. Mattel's license may not preclude Hasbro from getting a license for a transforming toy, but they'd have to negotiate that just for a one-off. The other crossovers have been for properties where Hasbro has already had a license -- with the possible exception of BttF. That license is all over the place, though I'm sure it helped that IDW had the comics license.

It's not impossible, but it's certainly unlikely.

Actually, they're all from the same source on TFW. I don't recall where exactly it was said, but I believe the guy mentioned that a special exemption was made for Hasbro to release this (the thread is like 100 pages long at this point, and I don't feel like looking). Make of that what you will.

I personally didn't believe all of this at first (seemed like too massive of an infodump), but some of the things he mentioned were later corroborated by other leakers, like the 2 packs, the BB Seekers, the SG line, and Rexy.

Top Gun is also a one-off license as far as I know, Lanard sells a rather large set of jets and figures. Only crossover figures they've done that they also make other figures for is Ghostbusters and X-Men. Licenses are a funny thing. For example Mattel has the primary license for all things DC action figures at major retailers (as in outside comic shops), yet McFarlane also makes DC figures now.

To be honest the only that makes me suspicious about Beast Megatron reportedly being a simple repaint for Jurassic Park is that all of the crossovers so far have either been massive retools of existing molds or outright new molds. I suspect it would really be a heavily retooled Megatron with new bot chest and head and probably a more JP-like t-rex head.

Off topic, but Mattel lost the DC master license to Spin Master last year. Mattel still makes certain younger toys, but kids action figures are from Spin Master, while MacFarlane serves the collector market.

More generally, and hopefully more relevant, these licenses are usually for classes of toys. I don't have insider knowledge or details, but to an outside observer these classes are usually pretty broad: action figures, building blocks, board games, plush, die cast vehicles, high-end collectibles. Few companies manufacture products across all of those groups, so the licenses aren't exclusive across the board but within those product segments. Related, this is why Hasbro licenses brands they own to outside companies like Kotobukiya and ThreeZero: they're not competing.

To bring it back full circle, would a Hasbro transforming T-Rex be directly competing with Mattel's toys in a way that Lego's don't? Absolutely, and a lack of exclusivity would devalue Mattel's license. To your original point, I don't actually know if "transforming toy" is a product class covered in the agreement or if Hasbro could carve out an exception, but it doesn't seem likely to me.

I know I've wandered out into the weeds on this a bit, but the history of any corporate media property, especially toys and collectibles, is intimately connected with these licensing changes over time. Since Transformers is a toy-owned IP, its history is less dynamic, so it's not as big a concern as with comics franchises, for example. One of the forms my fandom has taken as an adult is tracking and trying to understand these relationships, and recognize how this affects everything from the ways fans stay engaged to the impacts on the fictional universe narratives, but that's all way beyond the scope of this thread.

I like the sound of those Amazon twin-packs, while Beast Wars II Skywarp doesn't interest me that much, I'd be down for an Earth Mode Mirage and Sideswipe. I'm also eager for Tarantulus, it doesn't even bother me that much that Terrorsaur and Inferno supposedly won't be happening because we'll still be getting a decent number of Predacons in Kingdom.

Only crossover figures they've done that they also make other figures for is Ghostbusters and X-Men. Licenses are a funny thing. For example Mattel has the primary license for all things DC action figures at major retailers (as in outside comic shops), yet McFarlane also makes DC figures now.

Off topic, but Mattel lost the DC master license to Spin Master last year. Mattel still makes certain younger toys, but kids action figures are from Spin Master, while MacFarlane serves the collector market.

Mattel also uses the DC licences for their Hot Wheels line. And at the moment, Jada toys, Mesco and Lego all have the DC license as well. So there is a lot of breathing room for licence holding, hence why I dont doubt the rumour much.

On another note, I'm assuming they are going with the BWII name fir the eagle because having Beast Wars Ailverbolt would be confusing right?

That, and this brand team has no issue with sticking to the Japanese names of Japanese-original characters (hi, "Black Roritchi"), instead of Westernizing them like the Aaron Archer era team would (e.g - "Stepper" to "Ricochet").

That would be a bit confusing for those less in the know, but I don't know how people dealt with Selects Decepticon Sandstorm. If possible, I'd like to see them use "Skyhawk" instead.

I feel like there's a pretty big overlap in the number of people who knew about Selects Sandstorm and why it exists at all, and those who are aware of BWII Skywarp. ;)

There is another rumour I didn't add in the list since it wasnt corroborated by additional sources but for those wanting another metroplex, you will get one. And you will be disappointed.
