After monday night's Visual Effects Society Awards Show, IESB (after having a brief interview ith Director Michael Bay, which you can see by clicking here) also managed to talk with visual effects supervisor Scott Farrar, who brought home two awards for his work on the Transformers Movie, including the night's top prize of "Best Visual Effects in a Visual Effects Driven Motion Picture".
IESB has posted a video of the brief interview, wherein Scott Farrar briefly discusses the film's sequel.

BIGGER production? More impressive and exciting animatics? holy crap...any word on the budget for this movie yet? I'm assuming they will bump it up to more than the $150 mill from the last one...
That guy was REALLY getting excited talking about this movie...at least in my opinion. He WANTED to tell us stuff and almost slipped, but caught himself. For a guy who has done FX his entire life to get that excited about a project....that's a huge sign to me.
I have a seriously mixed bag of emotions here now. I want 2009 to get here so I can see the new movie, but at the same time I'll hit 35 that year and be on a downhill to 40...and THAT is depressing.

It finally happened. The Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Yes, I cried.

Its kind of like Basic Instinct, but not in a good way...
Goddammit, now I can't unsee it.

After watching all the bonus stuff on the TF DVD, I have to tell you that I think Scott Farrar is the person whom I have the most respect for in the entire production crew. He has a great talent, and he really knows what he's doing! He seems to really enjoy his job, and looks to have alot of fun doing it - and as we know, Transformers is all about having fun!
I know with Farrar in charge, Transformers 2 is in good hands!

Eh, it's not that bad. I just turned 36 last week. It could be worse I suppose.

It's a shame that the ILM team wont all be coming back, but with so much work (read character models) that will be easily transitioned to the second movie, it's barely a surprise.
Great to see that Farrar is excited about his work for TF2, Im sure it's because he knows that with the larger budget, he will have even more "toys" to play with.

Bay added a LOT more bots to this film than the first?
More, MUCH more than meets the eye indeed.
