Weapon: Megaton Battle Sword
No paint apps on my sword and shield. I'm sending mine back to Amazon for a replacement. I suggest anyone who got the plain yellow weapons do the same.

I'm glad I accidentally ordered two (one Standard Packaging and one Stress-Free... surprise! they're the same). One of mine came with the lack of paint app defect, which means I can do a side-by-side for everyone.

HAhahaha, funny photoshop few pages back!

Yeah, that looks weird, but very nice comeback post with the G1 reference.

I like the look of him, will get them all I think anyway. Still only small
dislike I have with it. No windshield like torso.

Still hoping for the G1 light brown rusted alt mode to somehow become an actual toy.
And that Hasbro finally makes a TRUE voyager sized G1 inspired classics figure (with a little movie flavour)

They almost did it right with the classics deluxe optimus (exept for the head).
Just size that up with a Laser Rod Prime like head sculpt and I won't ever complain again over any TF they make.

15 Steps Really?? I've checked now, My Ultra class Onslaught Universe have 8 Steps (almost half steps). It is realle a lot SIMPLER, for kids (really, all toys are for kids, that doesn't mean it needs to be bad).

So, How can an older toy, with less steps and totally kid friendly be a LOT better than this new premium first edition one? What is the next hasbro excuse? That the CGI movie model is too complicated to become a simplier toy? What a shame... Make more simple movie characters, it will be less ugly, less render time, easier toy design, more cheap, old fans will be pleased and new ones too.

I do kind of like the way he looks without the roof on the truck yet... if only the arms were in the front they could have had them hold a steering wheel, removed the roof and billed this as the promo figure for a new transformers based kart racing game... IN OTHER NEWS hasbro needs to get someone to make a kart racing game where transformers drive their alt modes.

Smaller size classes tend to have fewer steps than larger size classes, and Ultra class is below Leader class.

I really like this toy, so far. Really, the simpler transformation is a huge improvement over ROTF Prime's. That thing was redunkulous. The instructions were even missing steps relating to transforming those chest pieces. Frankly, it's the kids that matter when it comes to these things, and I feel comfortable recommending this guy to my parent friends.

You do realize that for the First Edition toy that's already come and gone out and not the upcoming Leader that's among the toys being promoted in this thread, right?

New Gallery: Age of Extinction Generations Voyager Evasion Mode Optimus Prime

Postby Autobot032 » Sat Apr 12, 2014 12:28 am

Weapon: Switch Blade Tail
The gallery everyone has been waiting for!

You've seen the video review, now see the high quality, perfect clarity, high definition gallery that only Seibertron.com can bring you: Voyager Class Evasion Mode Optimus Prime from Age Of Extinction!

Now, the first thing you may notice is the G1 deco and you might say "Isn't he a rusty white with flames in the movie?" Yes, he is. The deco is most likely just a nice nod to the G1 version of Optimus Prime for the 30th anniversary and the fans. You'll also notice the similarities of the truck alt mode to the G1 original's truck mode. (You can see the G1 figure's gallery here.)

Robot mode is where they really differ, however. For the longest time, HFTD Battle Blades Optimus was considered the best Voyager Class movie Optimus, until now. Evasion Mode Optimus is going to give Battle Blades a run for his money! Not only is the maskless face nicely detailed, but it's almost perfectly accurate to the CGI model.

Prime's Ion Cannon is actually Megatron's gun from Dark of the Moon. It is compatible with the DOTM Voyager Class Megatron figure thanks to the tabs on the side of the shotgun. (How cool is that?!) We've included several pictures at the end of this gallery showcasing Megatron using his own cannon.

Very poseable! Could be this generation's "Bendy" Optimus. ("Bendy" Optimus is a nickname given to Deluxe Class (Max-Con) Armada Optimus, which was the most poseable Optimus Prime figure up to that point. It was a game changer.)

We've included comparison shots with other Movie series Voyager Class figures in this gallery as well as Encore G1 Optimus Prime and Hasbro Masterpiece Optimus Prime.

Without further ado, here are the pictures! Click on any below to be taken to the full gallery:

I don't know. I mean...the alt-mode is definitely pretty, but the robot mode looks unfinished. I really hate how colorless many of the AOE toys have been.

As for who's the better representation on Movie Optimus, I like the Voyager DOTM mold best just for proportions.

Will never be a fan of huge robot feet on the rear of Prime's truck mode. They fixed this in the movies, but here it crops up again.

Did they give him that shotgun to homage how G1 Prime's gun fit in his hand? He holds it the same way and it's just as arkward :D

The colours kill the bot mode. But I think it looks a nice mold.

why didn't they do a cabover in the first place this proves it could have been done and it doesn't look all that bad robot mode almost similar to what they already did a few tweaks and it could have been much more impressive but i think its still pretty cool
