I'm gonna have to exchange mine. I tried widening the hole on the bracket with a screwdriver (gored it some) and still had problems putting the bracket on the peg. No more games with modifications. I'm reluctant to take it back to the same wally, fearing I'll get another from the same batch with the exact same problem. I did rebox him nicely though. What a pain in the arse!!! For $60 & this being my grail of the year - this really pisses me off.

Just make sure they still have some left BEFORE you go to the desk to return it.

I did that once, returned a broken toy to get a new one, didn't have any more. At least you would have him.

Hi all, after visiting this site almost everyday for the past year, I finally registered an account. The main reason for that is to report a sighting for MP skywarp. I know it sucks to miss the chance to get one (I missed Starscream). Also, since I don't see much of the local people report on this site, so I take the initiative to do so. I have been to and call my local wartmart everyday for the past 3 weeks and finally got him today. Hopefully there won't be any scalpers raiding the store after seeing this.

You really have to force that peg in on the 4 that ive played with,your probably going to find the same problem with the one you get after you exchange the old one

greeaaaat. Haven't opened him yet. The last one i had wouldn't go on the peg with any amount of force. This is a bad QC issue. Bad stands and/or bad molded Skywarp pegs. This is a buzzkill, but it could be worse.

Just saw a batch of them at my local Y'All-Mart. Had it in my hand. Looked at the price. Put it back.

I know opinions will vary on this, but to me, I don't feel that this is honestly sixty dollars worth of figure, any more than I feel that Devastator is one hundred dollars worth. He's nice looking, but let's face it, he doesn't really fit in with the universe line from a scale standpoint, and is nothing more than a leave-it-on-the-shelf collector's piece. From a value standpoint, he's just a slightly more complex Leader class figure priced even higher than most Supreme class figures we've seen, and has no right to be anywhere over 39.95 at the very MOST.

I could have bought him, but the thought of using up every penny of my toy fund on one figure just seemed wrong. And the thought that scalpers will buy them up and charge even MORE, and that people will actually pay it seems even more wrong.
Respect to the people who have him and enjoy him, but this is one figure that I'm going to pass on. I bought 25th Optimus, who is huge, heavy, and the definitive Prime, but I call it quits there on the Masterpiece figures.

And that's my humble take on it.

So you're missing out on a fantastic figure because of it's pricepoint? $60 is a justifiable price for that figure, especially seeing it's a freaking Masterpiece figure. I respect the amount of money you're putting into your Transformers collection and I know there's limits on the amount of money spent on Transformers, but $60 is not a even reaching the maximum limit. If it was $100+, then yeah I'd back off. But it's not. It's $60 and considering inflation, that's pretty damn good.

Well, it's your choice, not mine.

Ya, it is a personal choice, based not only on how much the figure costs, but what it will bring to my specific collection overall. He is a nice display piece for sure. However, he's not gonna bring sixty bucks of enhancement to my collection. As I was saying, he doesn't fit in with anyone other than my 25th Prime. I make it a point to collect lines of TF's rather than random display pieces (Prime being the all-time exception). Back when times were better and I dropped 500 bucks on the Lio Kaiser gift set at Botcon 2001, the fact that he fit in with my G-1 collection was one of the deciding factors for buying it, its rarity was the second factor. If he was something that didn't fit anywhere in my personalized collection, I might have been less inclined to spend all that money on him.

I think that the real value of a 60 dollar MP Skywarp will differ from person to person based not only financial issues ( which nowdays is a big issue ), but on what it will bring to the individual's collection. Does it fit in as part of an integral whole, or does it stand out as an expensive "odd" piece.

I'm not saying that nobody should get him. I'm just saying why it isn't the right buy for me personally.

Yeah, fair enough. I'm not going to buy Masterpiece Skywarp, because.. well I don't have anything that really relates to it. I'm not a G1 kid, and I'm a Beast Wars/Armada collector, with a regrettable large amount of Movie figures tossing in some Animated....

A masterpiece just doesn't make sense to me, so I can agree with you. But... who knows, If I've got an impulse I might just get it. It's $60...

It is no different from the fact that if I were to find (for example) Devastator for let's say....$25-$30 retail, I still wouldn't buy it. The thing has no value to me whatsoever. I don't like it at any price point. But that is just me. I am willing to pay over $100+ for a Takara Master Piece figure though. It really just depends on the individual buyer and what equals a good value to them.

I do commend Cobalt Prime though. I think it is great to see someone pass it up because they aren't concerned about scalping the damn thing. Profiteers in this hobby are a real pain.

, but it's his choice. I resent the fact that it went up 10 bux from last year's MP SS, but for $60 -that's still a substantial savings from the Takara version. Pisses me off that there wasn't better QC on the peg/bracket stand issue.. :evil:

Unfortunately, everything went up 20% from last year. :-(
