Playing Russian roulette with your wallet. Fun.
Well, it looks like it certainly was like playing Russian roulette, as I got the blockhead truck instead of the yesman dino. Thankfully Walmart provided me a "replacement" order and won't charge me. We'll get back to the quotations in a few days.

This ^^^ I know the knees are a love them or hate them kind of thing and I for one love them, they do work well for posing. Then you got that nosecone that just unfolds foooooorrrrreeeevvvver which is cool and kind of a trip. The way the wings tuck back into the arms for bot mode and the flip back out for jet mode is also fancy. The color is not the best, I would prefer a deeper purple, but Kingdom Cyclonus is fun.

My gut tells me we'll see that deeper purple if they do a Targetmaster release.

For certain. I already bought one, would prefer the darker purple, but don't want or need two. Might as well be confirmed already.

Personally I really like that nice amethyst colour Galvatron and Cyconus used to get in Hasbro releases (vs the Lavender Takara always used). But K Cyclonus is a really nice figure beyond that... especially with that little taste of lightpiping (oh how I miss you). I was really hesitant on going from the U2 Cyclonus (he holds a very special place for me), but the 10+ years really show in that jet mode now.

I really do not like CW Cyclonus though, he just carries that distinct CW awkwardness and Silverbolt's "Jet" problem. I can't comment on him in hand though, I skipped him for those reasons.

I hope Hasbro was just saving the deep purple for Galvatron and used the lavender on Cyclonus for variety's sake.

Having had the Universe Deluxe before, I can say that I still found the transformation exciting and would not consider it on the same level as as the classics seeker to ER seeker upscaling. There are definitely a number of items that are the same or very similar, particularly how the arms themselves transform and that the nose of the jet folds into the chest. But the nose transformation on the deluxe fairly simple, collapse the telescoping tip and then fold the whole thing away. There is nothing on the deluxe quite like the origami they have going on for the nose of the jet on the Kingdom version, which was the biggest draw for me. Then add on the 180 rotation of the jet windows and the arms to lock them into jet mode, and I'm all in on this mold, it is really just fun to transform.

I just picked up Black Arachnia and I have to say, she's actually a pretty fun deluxe. Not perfect (soon as I untabbed her chest I decided I'm never tabbing it in again because it's way too tight to untab for as often as I transform figures), but pretty nice. Though, I did also pick up Netflix Elita-1 today too, so that may have influenced my feelings for BA because at least she's less of a nightmare to try and transform correctly

I don’t find his coloring all that offensive since he seems to be depicted as a dusky purple, though they could have gone with the bluer purple that’s on the sides of his chest. The head sculpt isn’t great but isn’t terrible either. What I love about this Cyclonus is that he looks great in both forms. The jet looks like a funky jet and not jet parts on top of a box and the robot mode has a nice proportion. The clean transformation is just a bonus.

I do not have particular attachment to g1 cyclonus, so show accuracy was never my concern. I love kingdom cyclonus because i just really find him fun and satisfying as a toy. That being said, people's preference and gripes varies, so if there's some people who don't like him, that is completely normal.

And while we are in the topic of cyclonus, lemme introduce you, larry the cheerful bird.

After finally having Primal and Megs, I have one thing to say:

Woah.

Those toys feel PREMIUM in and out. Nothing feel cheap. The paint work is perfect. Everthing feel solid. Joints are tight. Plus both are what we may call "mini masterpieces". They are also to scale with one another. A first in the regular lines since BW is a thing.

Image

Transforming Primal was easy enough. Plus I love the fact that you can do the "normal" gorilla, or the standing one. Megs was damn scary to transform. Because everything is so THIGHT, I was affraid a few times to break something. Especially the torso clip... But once the groove was on, transforming Megs was a pleasure and it resulted in a PERFECT T-Rex that is ridiculously articulated.

Image

Overall, the beasts in the Kingdom line are absolutely fantastic. I planned to skip on Cheetor but now I have to get him. Paleotrex too. 8-}

How does the rubber for Megatron feel in hand? I've heard conflicting reviews of either fine, or really bad

I don't know what the complains are about. It feel fantastic. As if he got "real skin". Plus that Megs feel HEAVY in hand. It's about time we got a REAL Leader Class figure.

I finally got Megatron! Since they charged it as a free replacement, guess I can either keep Optimus as a second copy or potentially use it for customs. Some would say to return it to get a Galvatron if he does pop up, but it's a 50/50 thing for me right now.

If Takara Tomy still did Legends comics, this is something I would expect to see in it, right next to two headed dragon Scourge.

Transmutate looks amazing! I'm not gonna pre-order because after the headaches last year with God Neptune getting delayed, plus Target backordering everything, I'm done with pre-ordering for now, but she definitely is one good looking use of the mold

They were wrong.

Because it represents a being who is both mentally and physically disabled from a horrific birth defect? :-|

Don't tell me you have prejudices against the handicapped?

But seriously, it's a Transmutate that succeeded to put her act together and achieved a viable form. A TRANSFORMABLE form. And that's worth celebrating.
