Either way, Rhinox looks weird with things popping out the sides of his head.

Of course, now I find out Fossilizer Combiner after looking into Wingfinger more, which means I'm already behind by initially skipping Paleotrex. Dang my love for dinos prehistoric animals and Combiners

Tuned Agent wrote:Oops, I saved the draft of my thoughts on the reveals and then forgot about it. Anyway...
Draconite: Looks cool in green, and that's about all I can say about it.
Soundwave: This is the reveal that impressed me the most. His chest door opens! Tiny (but non-transforming) Laserbeak! Both his weapons! Two very good modes! He overall far exceeds my expectations. My only criticism is that he could use a little more paint in a few spots, but given his size class and the amount of paint he already has, you can't have it all. Soundwave will probably be competing with Rattrap and maybe Starscream for the best core class.
Skorponok: His scorpion mode looks fantastic, and it's nicely articulated. He's a thicc boi in robot mode, but I actually think it kinda fits his character. In a way. I don't know. I'm cool with it.
Wingfinger: This guy looks awesome, probably my favorite of the fossilizers. I really like the ninja-esque robot mode. Whereas I think the weaponizers started out with their best figure, the fossilizers keep getting better and better.
Tracks: I think he looks pretty good overall, though it's a bit unfortunate that he has a faux chest. His alt mode looks great. I don't totally understand the hate he's receiving. It's just too bad I don't care about Tracks as a character.
Rhinox: Looks pretty good overall, though I don't think it looks better than the T30 version. His rhino mode looks really good, but the faux chest is a bit unfortunate (though I understand what they're going for), and his shoulders look kinda weird. Not figure ruiningly weird, but weird enough that I know it would bother me if I got it (like Cyclonus's knees). I personally think his colors are fine.
Galvatron: His proportions still look a bit off, and Hasbro taking the pictures didn't magically change that. His cannon mode really screams "we prioritized the bot mode on this one". I'll need to see the Selects version before I'll know if I'm interested.
Rodimus Prime: He still looks really good, and I'm glad that there is more to the trailer than was first shown. I'll need to see some size comparisons before I decide whether I think he's worth $80 or not.
Ark: Not something I'm interested in, but it looks decent. The bot mode gives me some Tidal Wave vibes, and the Ark mode is solid, even if the leg gaps look unsightly. It might be able to suck me in if those turrets can swivel, but I doubt they can.
Tricranius: His deco is fantastic, I like the Triceratops retooling, and this finally gives fans a much-asked for blast effect pack. Super cool.

It was always my intention to create a combiner from the Fossilizers, but it was nice Hasbro/TT went ahead and designed one.

That's pretty much the reason in a nutshell
Because they're G1 characters.
Here's a question though, could they do definitive versions of Beast Wars cast? And how much would they cost? Giving the price of paint apps in the proper places. The mp beast wars stuff have mp budgets behind them, and people still weren't happy with some of them (mainly Blackarachnia).
Tuned Agent wrote:Really the only major change that could be made is to have show accurate beast mode instead of realistic ones, but I kind of see that as the Kingdom toys going for more BW toy-accurate direction, since the toys had (somewhat) more realistic beast modes than the cartoon. That's just my take, though.

^ Pretty much this. Many of the BW character models cheat so much between modes that even the MPs can't pull them off without completely relying on faux parts, and some of them just straight up sacrifice one mode so the other mode can look good (see: Blackarachnia). None of that is really feasible on a general retail toy, at least not one that's any fun.

Tigatron and BB + Sam on Amazon. Waspinator seems to not be available for pre-order on amazon yet, and Slag won't let me add him to my wishlist so I can't pre-order him.

Strange about Slag, but Waspinator is definitely available as I already ordered him
