I know. I'm just wishful thinking.ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:IMO a huge Tidal Wave would be better achieved comparatively, with bitty versions of the rest of the Armada cast.
I wonder which cast WFC part 3 will have: season 3 or some of the characters from the Japanese trilogy (Headmasters/Masterforce/Victory)?Forgot to mention the 1988 Headmasters. I really want to see them done, including the helmets for the Autobots.
So you want the inner bot and the shell to be 2 separate figures? Wouldn't that take up too much shelf space in stores? For the Pretenders... I'd want to see them ditch the "Stick a robot in a shell" gimmick and do Deluxe-class versions of the inner robots while the shells were made into a companion action figure line.

I wouldn't. I prefer the idea of their true form being the same size as their peers, and the human (or animal, or humanoid monster) disguise being smaller.Rodimus Prime wrote:I do like the idea of the shell and inner bot being sold separately, but I would do it the other way.
The problem with that is that unless the shell was done as multipart armor or a vinyl-and-fabric costume, it would be just as bricky as the shells of old.Rodimus Prime wrote:Make the shell deluxe and the bot legends class. Or if it's financially feasible, the shell voyager and the bot a deluxe, and have the smaller bot actually fit inside the bigger one, like an actual pretender.
Rodimus doesn't need to become Hot Rod, but he does need to turn into the Rodebago. And in order to do that while having his robot mode match up to Galvatron, he needs to be a Leader-class. Otherwise you're going to end up with an upscale of the crappy Titanium Series figure.Gauntlet101010 wrote:Good voyagers for Galvatron and Cyclonus. A good, voyager class Rodimus Prime. Galvatron already had a good Voyager, IMO: The Titans Return figure. The only things it really needs are to replace the forearm fins with folding mounts for his cannon (or for the cannon base to be modified with a foldout mounting clamp that slips over the fins) so that it can be mounted in a cartoon-accurate fashion (and without blocking his elbow), and for the face mask to A. be a better fit for the underlying faceplate and B. lose the spring-loading so that the springs don't block him from having full head rotation. I mean, I guess you could change the head to integrated if you really had to but eh. I think he's overall a good figure already.
Cyclonus doesn't strictly need a Voyager figure, for my money. It wouldn't hurt, but I don't think it's necessary.
Far more important than retreading Galvatron, in my opinion, is a new, cartoon-based Wreck-Gar. Hot Rod, Kup, Springer, Arcee, Wheelie, Blurr, Cyclonus, and Scourge have all had cartoon-based dedicated toys made. Wreck-Gar has had the RTS toy (which redesigned him), a headswap retool of CW Legends-class Groove, and a retool of CW Afterburner.
I also want to see a Greenlight reissue.

Re: TR Galvatron: I think he's not only the right size, he also looks good and has a very functional articulation scheme, the kibble where it should be, and two good-looking altmodes. And it seems to me that the tweaks I suggested would do much to alleviate the usual complaints.
Re: Cyclonus: I didn't say he didn't need a new Voyager, I said he didn't need a Voyager The inconsistency over his size in the cartoon has always made him feel smaller to me, so I'm okay with the Universe Deluxe (and a Deluxe would be more army-building friendly... assuming they could still sell that at the Deluxe price..). I agree that the Combiner Wars version is lacking. I'd love to take one of those, gut it of the combiner ports (which I would save to give to T30 Metroplex when I get one) and kibble, and remount the wings to his arms where they belong.
Re: Rodimus Prime: I'm certain they'd do him as a Voyager robot with the rest of the Leader mass separate, especially since bases are in again.

Ah, yes! Nightbeat really needs an update, especially one that's titan master compatible. I definitely agree with all those, but I don't think we'll get many IDW figures in WFC, except maybe Nautica. Hopefully in the next trilogy though, because there were so many great designs in IDW. Voyagers of IDW Optimus and Megatron, especially MTMTE Megs, would instant buys.
On the bright side, we already got an IDW Ultra Magnus in Combiner Wars.
