Easier said than done since UT has officially stated that once these guys are out of the factory that'll be it for stock. Apparently there are no more War Hawk figures coming out as far as reissues go so, what's out on the market now, and for future releases, is all there is expected to be.

Just saying, better jump on them now while you have the chance.

Either way, this is a nice looking set of figures, but as it has been said so many times before... UT's main obstacle in this sets sale was MMC's offerings. If not for MMC this would have been one hell of a hot item.

UT isn't hurting MMC by doing small runs - if anything, they'll be driving folks to MMC for lack of other options, assuming stock of MMC's Feral Rex hits the online retailers before TFC's Ares... but that's a BIG if.

Then again, Feral Rex & Ares will probably be the same size, so this is the only option for a Predaking that scales with MT's Giant & FP's Bruticus/Intimidator.

OTOH, retailers (read: TFsource) still seem to have plenty War Hawks around... maybe they will go on clearance.

Gah! I'm just so wishy washy!

No need to rush, regardless of how few there are/will be. Their reasoning for doing but a single run is my reasoning for waiting. They aren't going to sell out any time soon thanks to MMC. BBTS will have plenty left for a long time to come (remember Sonicron ;)?).

Good point and fair enough assessments. I just get all shaky when I hear "limited stock" or similar statements. I know I've been in that position before when I waited too long to pick up the add on for FPs City Commander (the one with the shoulders and the extra gun) and I have been kicking myself ever since.

Yeah, but given the position that these guys know they're in (preorders getting cancelled left and right as MMC showed off more and more proto pics), I think it could also just be a matter of them trying to push anyone on the fence into diving into their set instead of MMC. I don't believe too many are on the fence about it. I think most are going to skip the UT set and go for MMC and the ones that don't will likely go for TFC. Very few will be going for the UT set at this point I think (even with its nice price point).

Worse comes to worse, I'll hunt it down on ebay if BBTS runs out, but I'm pretty sure it's not going to come to that.

That's what I did with City Commander, but FP did eventually do a re-release anyway. If demand is sufficient, I bet these guys will do the same.

I've got War Hawk and Rhino waiting in my pile of loot along with Car Crash. Waiting for the next Last Chance and Down Force to arrive before I ship which will hopefully see War Bison join them along with a selection of Hasbro's offerings.

Is anyone actually... completing the set? I'm scared that this thing isn't going to get pushed out with all the sales likely going to MMC and TFC with their Pkings.

I've got Hawk and Rhino in my pile of loot. Panther (August) and Bison (October) are both pre ordered. If TFC had been a little more timely in their Predaking announcement I'd probably be getting their version.

I picked up War Hawk at a decent price from RK (even knowing that there could be QC issues, but there weren't) since the Feralcons hadn't started yet. At the RK price, I'm hoping to pick up the remaining four as two sets to keep costs down. The recent reveals of the combined form made me very happy.

So, it was the idea that I'd likely be over halfway through before MMC's version came out, and that the prices are now lower than what they previously were going for.

I think these guys are doing a great job. Charmingly G1 with a heavy twist of badass. Preds sword looks awesome.
It's a combiner in the league of a Hasbro release pulled off on it's BEST day in the Generations line. It would be a strong seller at retail stores.

It's honestly a fantastic looking Predaking when combined.

I quite agree. $12 deluxes with the one $20 voyager, and I would have been all over this like [pick your favorite analogy here]. Nearly $100 a figure (okay, I have to give them props for dropping the price) and this pales in comparison to TFC and MMC, who are just slightly more expensive (if I remember correctly) but full of so much more awesome!

So, you'd rather have the FOC Bruticus compared to WarLord Beasticon? The former already has some add-ons in the works as well as a 3rd party Voyager sized core replacement for Onslaught... :-?

All I'm saying is that if UT's set came out from Hasbro (or even UT) at $12 a pop ($20 for the Voyager) I'd have been all over it. It's a cost/value thing. UT's current price model (which is understandable from a small third party company as compared to Hasbro) is far too expensive, especially when comparing to the only slightly more expensive MMC and TFC versions. There's not enough value for UT.

And, indeed, if this had been released at a $50-$68 total price point (comparable to FoC Bruticus) and there was an add-on set that improved it (like with FoC Bruticus) I might have considered such add-ons (as I am with FoC Bruticus.)

This might be the most I have ever used parentheses (though I do tend to use them more than others.)Image

I agree. It's unfortunate that UT hasn't built up the prior success MMC has that allows them give you more for your money.

These MIGHT have been an option (for me) for $40 a piece.

After seeing the final combined mode shot and watching several review of the released figures, I've taken a leap and ordered all 5 bots from UT. I feel it will look great on my shelf and still will fit in "scale" to Hercules and the other Neo-G1/classics figures.

Originally I was going to wait for Ares, but having War Lord being finished before the first figure from TFC even releases, as well as not even seeing renders for the rest of the figures has made me jump ship. I can not wait to have this in hand!

Now all I have to decide is to ship my PoL when War Leo comes out or to wait until Diesel.
