Yeah, I'd buy those in a heartbeat.

Might as well do Spike, Sparkplug, Carly, and Daniel, too.

SG Devastator... I know a 3rd party already went there, but I'd still be interested.

I can never think of these things when filling out my Botcon feedback sheets, but here's another one.

Screen accurate Beast Hunters Smokescreen. That blue/yellow deco never came out. I know, I know, this is in "That should be a mass retail release!" territory, but if it's not going to get done that route, it'd be really nice to see it in some form or another.

What I don't want: Shattered Glass

What I DO want: IDW-inspired Cyclonus from HFTD Terradive (w/ new head, of course).

Hmm, alt mode could work. New head, new weapon, ok. That chest though. Idk about this :/

Maybe as something like a "Movieverse Cyclonus" but IDK about it really working for IDW Cyclonus.

And the Club's used that mold twice now (BWU Depth Charge and MW Starscream) so IDK if fans would take to a third use that wouldn't be as on the mark as the first two uses.

I actually think Terradive to Cyclonus would be much more on the mark than either DepthCharge or MW Starscream. Both Club versions rely on the Terradive head kind-of-sort-of looking like the intended homages' heads when you squint. The alt mode matches much more closely with Cyclonus, and the robot mode silhouette, along with features such as the back fins and ab-plate thing work much better for the purple dude. That's just my gut.

On a separate note, if anyone out there is trying to get rid of their TFCC Machine Wars Starscream, drop me a PM because I'm in the market for one. :D

I want a HFTD Cyclonus as well. From Tomahawk. In Armada colors.

I see what you're going for with the more skeletal look, but since there are 2 perfectly good Cyclonuses out there, I doubt they'd bother with something like this.

Also, we need Red Wing. :)

DIACLONE DIACLONE DIACLONE

(Diaclone/Microchange and anything else pre-TF, more technically.)

(That said, for the Diaclone cars, because of the new CW wave of deluxes and future figures that've been shown, I'm now terrified that Diaclone versions of stuff like Sunstreaker, Ironhide, Mirage and others will use the CW versions because they're newer, rather than the Classics/Universe/Generations molds that I'd much prefer to see used.)

MTMTE Lost Light from Animated molds

Aside from that:

Crossblades/Blue Bacchus from Voyager Springer
Skyhammer from Voyager Sandstorm
Iguanus from Chromia
Bomb-Burst from Windblade
Flywheels & Overcharge from Blitzwing
Animated Terrorsaur from Animated Swoop
Animated Wasp from Animated Hydrodive Bumblebee
Animated Thundercracker/Ramjet/Dirge from Animated Starscream
Hauler from Inferno/Grapple
Ironfist w/Stripes & Detritus w/Howlback from Hound w/Ravage
Rad w/Lionizer from Univ. Prowl w/AM Jida
Slicer & Exhaust from Generations Wheeljack
Gutcruncher from Generations Warpath
Over-Run from HftD Tomahawk
Skyfall w/Top-Heavy from either CW Firefly or FoC Starscream w/AM Zamu

After this year's Diaclone offering not selling out, I think it's a safe bet you won't have to worry about Combiner Wars being used for a Diaclone set, as they are going to stay far far away from Diaclone in the immediate future.

Perhaps, and the lack of a sellout even on the Club store probably doesn't help.

That said, if the Club never touches Diaclone again, I'll always wonder if the inability to get '15's registration going in a timely fashion had as much or more to do with that as Diaclone's fringe popularity. Fewer people, fewer impulse purchases, more stock on the Club store, more people who are then content to wait them out for sales...just something I wonder about.

(Somewhat separate issue, but I'd love for the mystery around Botcon reveals to be dropped, allowing the Club to build up to the next year's figures by spotlighting them in their fiction in the time before registration goes up. It might help drive interest in certain obscure figures based on their depiction in Club stories, rather than basing their appeal entirely on fringe interest in a shorter span of time. Look what MTMTE's done for random-ass characters and brand-new ones. Getting months of Machine Wars stories leading up to registration for that set might've helped move more figures, rather than depend on people making a decision on figures with no built-in nostalgia due to a lack of corresponding fiction.)

I think it's more because the fandom is aging and getting selective in what we all buy. Sure, you got a few die-hard fans that only buy Hasbro, but the reality is that the majority of the fandom is diversified in their collecting with Official and Unofficial figures.

If you have $500 to spend, are you gonna buy some awesome original mode 3rd party Masterpiece figures or some limited release repaints from the main retail lines?

Heck, that's a big reason I didn't even track Battletrap down from the box set, as that was the only figure that kind of interested me. For the price people were selling him for, I'd rather take my chances and wait for a 3rd party to do him right as an actual Duocon rather than a Springer repaint. For the same price, why not get the better, more accurate toy?

...and that's where we are at with Fun Pub toys. They should be focusing on lowering prices and expanding lines with either repaints that actually homage repaints, or all new original characters. It may have worked in the collector market 8 years ago to release a figure that was missing a key element of the original (such as Dreadwind from BC07 not being able to combine with Darkwing, or Club Exclusive Astrotrain not being a triplechanger), but that doesn't fly today.

That's the big reason there are figures still left in the store. Not the late registration. Not the fandom's frustration with Fun Pub's mistakes. Not because the figures weren't marketed correctly to emphasize the Diaclone connection. Not because Botcon was in an old dilapidated hotel. It's simply because the dynamic of the market has changed and competition from 3rd Parties is making Fun Pub's business plan for the last 10 years obsolete and unable to compete.

Regrettably, the Club has said no more uses of the Classics Seeker mold. So we get neither Red Wing nor SG Dirge. :(

Unrelated note of speculation:

I'm thinking next year's theme will be Beast Wars, possibly finally Beast Wars Uprising. Assuming the molds are all available:

Dynobot from Generations Springer
Rattrap from Prime Rumble
Botanica from Prime Soundwave
Jawbreaker from Beast Hunters Ratchet
(There's also a Geckobot from some weird hybrid of Dead End and Beast Hunters Wheeljack, but meh, whatever, I don't actually want that)

I also remember the mockup shown of a pre-Beast Wars Waspinator using the BotCon 2013 Machine Wars Skywarp mold, and I definitely want that. It'd go great with the Tarantulas the club is putting out in TFSS 3.0

There was also a guard in the Uprising comic based on BotCon 2010 Clench and... well, that's cool, I guess. Very solid mold. Gonna need some villains in there somewhere.

Point: more Beast Wars!

The Club's already done a pre-Beast Wars Waspinator for Tarantulas to go with:

In fairness to Henry921, the canned Waspinator concept using the HFTD Dirge (or whatever the original name was) mold would fit better aesthetically with the particular Tarantulas that we're getting this year. I assumed that to be what he intended, but either way, now I'm reminded of Tarantulas and how I need to get my Pre-Beast Wars stuff settled up and ready for his arrival, so it's all good :)

Not only aesthetically, but financially. Much as I love that little flip changer mold, I really don't want to drop $200+ for it on eBay.

It'd also be a straight redeco of a mold already available to the Club, so it seems like a no-brainer. Maybe the number of paint apps is the issue...

Yes... I definitely want Waspinator from MW Skywarp/TC. It's a modern mold and would look great... not to mention the price and availability.
