Abosolutely. In fact, the entire course of any Decepticon invasion, human resistance to it, and many other aspects of this battle will be determine by the continuity of the Decepticons. Two examples:

Cartoon G1: The Decepticons can basically survive anywhere but the Sun. They can get the energon they need from any source they want, so they could get fuel from anywhere. So G1 can invade anywhere, anytime they want to. If they wanted to just kill off a majority of humans, they just need a couple of asteroids into the ocean, the resulting tsumanis and "impact winter" would do most the work for them.

TF Prime: Different circumstances. The Decepticons have a different diet and can only seem to get energon in a mineral form, so have get it before they starve. Also, these Decepticons have problems with extreme cold, so humans can hide in say Siberia for at least winter. Also, once people discover the Decepticons dietary habits, they can destroy nearby energon supplies, making it more a pain for the Decepticons to stay here. Also, because the TF Prime Decepticons are weather wimps, causing a "impact winter" with asteroids will render big chunk of Earth inhospitable for them, so they think twice about hurling asteroids into the ocean, taking away an useful doomsday attack.

I'd ask to be turned into a headmaster. Sweet new cyborg body PLUS additional giant robot body that can also turn into a vehicle PLUS someone who is always there for you to bother? That's a win/win/win scenario as far as I am concerned. I'd also never have to worry about paying rent.

Ditto over here, especially on the rent thing! Only interference is the fact that i'm NOT dropping out of college, interstellar war or not... i'll fight the good fight after my classes are done for the day. :J

I'd shake my head, politely point to the off white Lamborghini Countach in my driveway, then put one in his eye.

Autobots living here on Earth can be awesome, especially if it's the New Team Prime from the show, "Transformers Prime". I'd love to be hanging out with Arcee, cuz she's the hottest bot i've seen in the show. I'd love learning about Cybertronian Technology from Ratchet, and just watching Bulkhead scream like a little girl lol. (Reference from the Season 1 Episode "Scrapheap"). But then again if Decepticons get involved all the fun we have with the Autobots would go downhill unless we develop something that can completely extinguish all Decepticons or turn them all into Autobots and we all live together.

The Decepticons are probably reading this thread now and preparing countermeasures...

If the Decepticons wanted to conquer humanity, all they'd need is an electromagnetic pulse to destroy every global economy in an instant.

If we wanted to stop the giant robots from bring their war to us... all we'd need is an electromagnetic pulse to annihilate their circuitry. Assuming we had a device powerful enough to hit them all at once and don't have to use high altitude nuclear weaponry to achieve it, thus destroying ourselves with radioactive fallout.

...Huh. That was more depressing than I intended.

My point is war is inevitable. Side with the Decepticons now. They'll do what must be done, and leave you dominion over what remains if you serve them well.

That is a likely scenario with the EMP, but the Decepticons might not want to fry our infrastructure too much. For a G1 Decepticon, a power grip would like a vending machine/grocery store. Living off the land is good way to survive on a foreign planet, destroying an easy potential food supply for yourself is a risky move. A virus would be more effective.
Also an alliance with the Decepticons might not work. We offering Megatron a peace treaty would be as insane as thinking that cochroaches could be negotiating with the UN for amnesty.
