This is oh so correct. Both are ridiculously fun and clever in their own ways :MAXIMAL:

I am telling you man, those are by far the best toys to come out so far in 2016. I am transforming thunderhoof now, its just so great.

Oh I don't doubt it Will. Fracture is up there on the best bike-former list, and-I may be biased since he is one of my favorite cons ever, probably only behind Astrotrain-but Thunderhoof is badass as all snizzlesnit! :MAXIMAL:

Hmmmm. G1 Optimus Prime is a pretty solid design, though he does have one glaring flaw in the form of that stupid decorative handle (doubly annoying on the retooled reissues because instead of having the sense to turn it into a second peg... HasTak decided to give his fists elevated cups to better grab the existing peg while holding the gun straight. :BANG_HEAD: ). Still, a solid toy with plenty of play value. Ditto for Ultra Magnus.

Masterpiece Roddy (the Takara version anyway, not Hasbro's half-the-toy release) is a good design, even though he suffers slightly from Takara's apparent decision that the Masterpiece line didn't necessarily need durable plastic since it's marketed to adult collectors. A big plus to him is that at long last there's a Rodimus Prime big enough to toss G1 Galvatron. Design-wise he has it all over Masterpiece Optimus Prime (either version), Megatron, Ultra Magnus, and Ratchet and Ironhide in my book, being wonderfully accurate in all modes while doing everything his original toys did and then some.

Cybertron Leader-class Optimus Prime is another star design, and extremely rugged to boot. His vehicular flight mode alone is beautiful, and he has an awesome Super Mode. Plenty of firepower, and designed not to impede his articulation overmuch. And the removeable Matrix of Leadership is also neat, even if he can't hold it that well.
WANT:
* Cybertron Galvatron key, missiles
* Omega Lock
* Primus Cyber Key, coattail panel
* Powerlinx Comettor
* Cyb Jetfire R gun and missile
* RiD Galvy dragon head, beast arms
* DotM Ironhide windshield, R hood assy.
* ROTF Jetfire R JTFR panel

Di Bonaventura is not a credible or trustworthy source. And most fans do like the diversity push, thanks.

Do people not like Quillfire as much as these other two? I have Fracture and I like him, but Quillfire is a lot more interesting to me personally.

Quillfire is good but the reason he isnt on the same level to me is because his transformation is predicatable. The legs transform just like Strongarm and a multitude of other pickup truck tfs. he also has extraneous kibble on his back that doesnt have the stylish edge Fracture has since its doesnt really peg in somewhere, things just fold together and are left there. He also has a fake windshield chest. Not to say he isnt good, but thats why to me he isnt on the same level.

Quillfire is a good figure and I do like him, but Thunderhoof and Fracture just have a little extra flare and put any kibble to slightly better use. Like, Thunderhoof looks incredibly beefy and like the gangster he is supposed to be with no kibble and a very unique alt mode and transformation. Fracture just tucks away so neat and his transformation really is good, plus his kibble is tiny and compact and looks nice. So yes, Quillfire is good, just the others beat him slightly. :MAXIMAL:

Not sure if anyone has said this yet, but I picked up E-Hobby Deadlock (was not collecting when the original mold was around and thus I did not get a chance to get drift) and wow, his design is great. The arms have a lot of motion range, the weapons all have holsters which is a huge plus in my book, and I love the cleverness of making the doors into sword sheaths.

I agree the Drift mold is pretty good, but it's leg mobility is a little hindered by his large lower legs and he just can't seem to stand the way I'd like him. But he is a fine mold nonetheless :MAXIMAL:

Yeah, I think its a good mold too and it will be getting a spotlight in a list down the line. My favourite part is also how the car doors become sheathes. My main problem with him though is how the high shoulders and legs make him hard to photograph. Its like there is a small robot squeezed between big car parts. But in hand, he's awesome.

I am so very glad I got him back a month ago. He is great. and the sword sheaths are genius, as is the fact that he has virtually no kibble and it is all incorporated into the robot mode design, if a bit clunky at times :MAXIMAL:

Would you guys think he is a better than Animated prowl, ROTF Bludgeon and RID Drift at evoking the samurai feel? Or are those still better toys?

See, that's a tough one to call. Prowl is an awesome animated figure and I really do love him, and his sidecar armor is really cool and doesn't hinder posability at all. I don't have Bludgeon so no real comment there, besides the fact that he is totally metal looking. And RiD Drift is ok, but I think the generations one is a bit better then him. Animated Prowl might beat him though to me :MAXIMAL:

Well, he is a new release and this thread was just recently revived so I am pretty sure you are the first to mention them. My vote is on ironhide ;)

Just curious Shajaki, if you were to redo the top 5 MP list, would these two be on it. I know Hotrod would be number 1.

I really don't know. It would take a lot of thought. Ironhide wouldn't make the top 5, Ratchet might though. The new figures that I'd have to consider however...

I like this question. I will answer in your native tongue... a list! :lol:

5. Gen. Drift
4. TAV Origins Drift
3. ROTF Bludgeon - love how his kibble makes a lot of the armor
2. Ani Prowl - That armor is fantastic
1. RID Drift - On head sculpt alone. Emphasis on the mustache. It's almost a stereo type. :shock:

AOE Drift is too literal for my taste, but he is definitely a samurai.

@ Jak, I could certainly see Ratchet as a contender.

oooouuuuuuu, me likey. Keep that list handy for when I post mine. Its pretty much the same but goes by original molds so its ever so slightly different. And a certain pretender is in the honourable mentions for being waaaaaaaaayyyyyy too literal, including the fact that it doesnt transform.

Cobo once had us look at TF toys and see what kind of RPG roles they would have just based on their looks. I got a good one. Night Viper looks like a preistess:

Either a Mayan preistess:

Or and Egyptian Goddes (like Isis)

Or even like Enchantress:

Just from pics, I'd definitely put MP Ratchet above Ironhide, if just for the remolding on the codpiece that makes it look less like he's wearing a diaper. I also like how they worked around the red cross trademark nonsense with the labels that you could easily custom cut.
