Sorry, those are not the proper horns.

The proper horns would be chrome, so red is even further away from that than the stock "poor man's silver" gray plastic. The original G1 toy's horns were only red for the same reason that SS86 Hot Rod's hinge is bare yellow instead of being painted to match the body.

Also, you go for the mismatched FoC sword on Grimlock when it's pretty easy to get a proper one? :lol:

I understand getting a duplicate of Slag's launcher tho, I think only one person has done an SS86 Grimlock launcher and it's hit or miss whether you can even find it.

As has been the case down the decades
Proper is determined by several factors
1. How were you introduced to Transformers? via plastic, TV, Movies or comics (be they US or otherwise)
usually determines the proper for you.
2. Personal preferences
3. Artistic change ups. If you don't like it, you don't have to keep it.

Now, as I was introduced into WORLDS OF CYBERTRON via having been a child during g G1 & having Slag as the Dinobot I received for Christmas that very first time they came to our shores... I have ever known him with RED HORNS. Thusly... he does.

As for the swords, I have a sword that better reflects Slags original style... but I like THIS better.

As to the missle launchers:
It irks me to no end that HasTak keep giving us bots, specifically Dinobots, without the weapons these Dinos need.
A sword
A blaster
A missle launcher
But instead, waste time & plastic on half-assed mannequin mock-ups of Wheelie & Daniel. For virtually the same amount of plastic and crafting, the proper weapons could have been included. Meanwhile, thousands of squating, idiotic, in-action figures are doomed to the landfills and oceans!

Then I would guess you specifically favored the Marvel comics and your toy, as in the cartoon Slag has the chrome silver horns promised by the boxart and ads (but which the retail toy had to give up on because semi-soft plastic, and the comic colors in turn referenced the compromised deco).

I too would prefer the full G1 toy weapon sets (which it has to be said were done kinda dirty by the original G1 fiction; Slag, Sludge, and Snarl's launchers never appeared at all in cartoon or comic, only Grimlock and Snarl got to use their swords in the cartoon and Grimlock's was drawn as a generic the only time it showed up, the one time a cartoon script called for Grimlock's Galaxial Rocket Launcher the animators drew him firing off one of the Twin Stunner Laser's barrels...) to the Wheelie and Daniel minifigures.
However, those aren't without purpose; they're scaling props meant to convey the size the animators inflated the Dinobots to during the Quintessa sequences. They're like the old!Legends-class Optimus that came with the Takara release of Cybertron Metroplex, only not as good.

These might not be the best of the best hasbro stuff but that also means most were on sale.

Baynus Grindor- not a great repaint or even a representation of the screen bot but at less than voyager price for a leader sized figure yay.

Slammer, my first kingdoms figure in a long while. Big bots gotta have their ikkle guys.

Pr Tenga, actually one of my favourite PR figures from last year tbf probably because of a bit of same mold/no scale fatigue for the actual ranger figures. That and spending a lot, to not even have complete teams.
Hopefully Ivan ooze isn't too far into the future.

By sheer luck, Golden disc Terrorsaur. Hasbro pulse needs to stop using Yodel who think a door step is a safe place and weather resistant.

His wings fall off when you think about removing him from the box, the wings fall off when you think you have put them on. The mix matched reds, the clever storage of olld is gone for his weapon but thats joys of modern technology. His arm blades are in a little paper baggy taped to his tray so watch out for those and dont confuse it for sillica gel or something.

With that said, CAW CAW! Awesome to have him.

*Shrug* IMO the only thing that's especially better with him is he comes with the full weapon set for the mold, which is a moot point for me because I already built a gun for my SIEGE one. And I'm not exactly keen on buying a Skywarp who can go hang out with Universe Drag Strip and Blades, and Timelines Breakdown and Streetstar.

For me, it's Cybertron Jetfire. Still busily enjoying him after 16 years (can't call it a full 17 yet) of wanting him.
