What? I mean really? Seriously?????? WTF!!!!!!
Ok, to brass tacks, after tantalizing me for the better part of last year with jpegs of Que and Soundwave(HA and deluxe), Hasbro decides not to release them in the state???? Oh, and on top of that, now their releasing this load of crap sub-line "Robots In Disguise" for TF: Prime???? I bought their the Bumblebee after wanting the advertised one for almost all of last year, and instead got this piece of crap:

Photo on 2012-02-08 at 17.24.jpg

His ass got returned. BTW, don't buy it.

As of this moment, Hasbro, I, and I hope others will follow, will not be buying ANY in-store TFs until the release of the toys they said they were gonna give us here in the states. You think I won't? Believe me, there are plenty of Beast Wars toys on eBay to keep me happy until either you cave, or the trumpets sound and judgement day engulfs us. Bring it, Hasbro.

No, its the principle. They tell us they're going to sell something, we wait and wait and wait, only to find out that they decided "nah". Screw that. I understand Hasbro is a company out to make money, but if you're pissed that toy store shelves are still filled with your DOTM line, then maybe they shouldn't have been made a drastically lower quality than previous lines(dating all the way back to BW), and in excess to boot. Here, they have toys that ppl still want, like Que and Soundwave, and yet they're not being released. Hoping they'll pop in the Trilogy line(specifically Que in the blue color with the old man head).

Yep.

Hasbro's really left their TF fans in the lurch. We were teased all year with figures we couldn't wait to get our hands on, and then the rug is pulled out from under us. It's like having blue balls and you go to your favorite hooker, you're a loyal customer expecting her to take care of you, but halfway through she tells you you're going to have to pay through the nose if you want a happy ending. I can't afford to pay ridiculous prices for the Takara editions from online retailers or eBay. I look at my DotM shelf knowing it'll never be complete and it's like having an itch in your brain that you can't scratch. I'm trying to be positive, telling myself that it's just more money I can put towards guitars and amps and that I have the 2014 movie line to look forward to, but now there's a severe lack of trust between Hasbro and it's customers. It's also a shame for the talented artists and engineers who created these figures that their hard work has been scrapped. Don't know if anyone ever looks at it from that angle, but I'm sure it eats them up, too.

From what I understand, Hasbro said that the whole Trilogy line has been cancelled, with the exception of the deluxe Optimus with trailer that's already started showing up in stores. I was really hoping that the line would show up this summer, just like HftD showed up the summer after RotF was released. Guess not.

Well, basically you're saying that DOTM is comprised of inferior quality, yet you pine for Que and Soundwave, which would be made of inferior quality.
It's not like they are lucky draw figures, they are available, just not from Hasbro. I'm sorry people may want them, but not enough people to warrant them on the shelves. I am in compliance that they should be offered through HTS or the Collectors Club, which is one of the things the club should be utilized for.

Shortfalls like this are what make Transformers collecting a hobby(the whole point of an official collectors club, no?).
I remember looking all over like crazy for Spawn Vampire and Werewolf when originally released. Absolutely never found them outside comic shops, which wanted like $40 each. I gave up on them, they just weren't worth it. I saw them in a comic shop a couple of years ago for like 4 bucks each, now nobody wants them.
Same thing with ugly Que, probably less so with Soundwave, in a few years I am guessing. Better, more relevant things will emerge and these minor wants will be a thing of the past.

Either pony up the big bucks, or wait it out. Complaining isn't gonna do a whole lot of good.

The DOTM line was so lackluster and small that they lost their excitement too soon. They hardly lasted through the end of the year. How can you expect businesses to order more or poorly managed waves from a line of toys that they can't sell previous waves of? Easy to say "No more Bumblebee", but we all know that's not going to happen.

The fact that the Club hasn't stepped up to the plate and offered these in store borders on insulting to those who pay $40+ for their memberships. They are Hasbro's official club after all. If Que and Soundwave are only desired by collectors, offer them to collectors through the collector's club. Especially if they aren't going to procure enough of their own exclusives for all members to get. People join the club to have access to those toys, only to lose out because they were at work when they went on sale. Pure lunacy.
But with their site being under maintenance, maybe it will come back with a surprise to members. Maybe if club members petitioned they could get them offered through through Fun Pub. It seems like a more viable course to go that route than trying to get Hasbro itself to bend to your will.

Not that I'm really here to start an argument, but I do believe that complaining can do good. Civil Rights movement anyone? If people actually stuck to their guns and did something about problems they have, then changes would occur. I'm not trying to get Hasbro to bend to MY will, I'm hoping that there are enough people upset about this to get something done about it. You think Hasbro doesn't check message boards like this? If they see that enough people are pissed about not releasing a fig, then they know that releasing it will make them money.
Also, yes, I'm aware that Que and Soundwave are of lower quality, but in the absence of a better mold of those two, I'm willing to bend a little to have A mold of them.

Even 500 people wanting them isn't enough to stir the pot for Hasbro to sell them in retail. I bet they show up at Botcon in a large enough quantity that even if you are not going someone here would probably help you out in getting them at a decent price.

I also think there is a chance they will slip them into the Generations line if nothing else. Saying you won't buy any new transformers at retail isn't going to hurt Hasbro. Majority of people buying toys in the local toy isle are not collectors. It will slow rotation of goods on the shelves though deterring new waves, like the ones Que and Soundwave were originally slated for, from showing up.

I truly think pestering the Club would be the best course of action. They have a direct line to Hasbro and have far more influence than 20 people on a board complaining they can't get such-and-such at their local Walmart.

Nay-sayers.

Well, I was going to try and get something started on my youtube account too, hit that network and see if any good comes of it and go from there, but I'll try the Club thing too. I'm not trying to get these things now, I'm willing to wait, and hoping for a slip into Generations is exactly what for, or something similar. No harm a little push here and there won't help as long as too many "can't do this" mentalities don't get in the way.

Its so easy to criticize, but difficult to make change. An adequate comparison toys are to civil rights? No. Arguing your stance to the masses to instill change? Yes. Perspective, its a beautiful thing. Also, that was the first thing that came to mind as it was, single-handedly, the most important stance for change this country has seen in decades, so it popped into my head. If we really want to complain about what's "offensive" concerning the African American population, lets start with the incessant use of the "n" word. But please, no, nag me because I reference the Civil Rights movement as a good way to encourage change.

Here's a few more: Malcolm X, Gandhi, John Lennon, All great people honored by us remembering them.

I don't find it offensive as much as I find it out of touch with respective ideas.
Civil and basic human rights in society are a far cry from someone not being able to purchase a luxury item at a price deemed adequate to one's personal dollar value.
It was an unfortunate turn of events that led to certain toys not being sold domestically(U.S.), but they are available, just needing to be imported.

I'm irked every time I see awesome repaints Japan gets in their EZ\Chronicles line, but I don't get mad about it. It drives my desire to build my collection.
I just hold out that Hasbro will eventually bring them to me, if not, I hunt.

Unfortunately, if you decide not to buy any TFs until this is sorted the only person that is adversely affected is YOU, because you'll miss out on some good toys. I too am seriously disappointed by Hasbro's piss-poor management at this time but that won't stop me buying any good figures they release. PRID is not entirely crap.

Hasbro doesn't make figures for us, and they don't make business decisions based on what we want. They make toys for children, and they make business decisions based on the entire market, which consists mostly of kids and parents/grandparents buying toys for kids. We've managed to carve out a niche for ourselves as serious collectors, but you can't expect Hasbro to cater to us when we represent a very small slice of their market.

If your really that upset about this topic, then do what i do, send your hard, earned cash to 3rd parties, like Fansproject or PE and maybe hasbro might get the message. As far as TF RID toys, still on the fence about them and their quality looks very cheap and i dont collect DOTM line either because of that reason. I have better things to spend my money on.

I was really looking forward to Que, Leadfoot, and Soundwave too. Since this happened right after the FE fiasco there's a lot of trust lost. Instead of looking forward to upcoming figures now we'll be wondering whether or not we'll ever see them. "Wow that looks awesome, I can't wait to get it!" has now turned to "That looks great, I hope they actually release it. I'm not holding my breath though." Collecting has lost a lot of it's appeal because of Hasbro's recent incompetence.

Ditto. Why do we bother looking up what's "up and coming" if the only way to get it is to blow four times what its worth, or not get it at all?

Man I can't help but laugh!!. It's like the praying mantis is saying "Please buy me, I'll be your friend since Hasbro won't."

This has happened time and time again since the days of Unicron Trilogy.

What makes it worse is the amount of mulitple lines running concurrent with each other. And again the lack of/crazy distribution that Hasbro put together IMO has put a sour tatse in retailers mouths. It also seems apparent with each movie that comes out, the more screwd up the lines get. Hasbro is going to ride the residual of the movies forever.

Did I buy any of DOTM, hell no!!. I'm still enjoying ROTF which is the best of the movie lines to me.

I used to be a serious Hot Wheels commector but Mattel screwed over the RLC members in 2006 and silenced us if we dare speak out the truth of their own promotion. I buy Hot Wheels for the youngest son because he likes cars, but no more am I a serious collector.

Transformers has now gotten out of control because they won't admit they need to restructure the lines and characters ie Bumblebee.

Again, this is why I have stop collecting TF's on a whole. I'm sick of the lines and zany marketing that if I see it I will buy it, if I don't see it I will not pay high markup.

The best way to hurt Hasbro is not to buy. complaining will get you no where.
