What would you do if TF4 was not an improvement?

So it's not a big secret that the first 3 movies were not well received. I don't want to restart the fire and the whole bayformer bashing thing.
I want to propose a thought, or strike a deal with the fans so to speak.

There is a saying in Tennessee or probably Texas:
"Fool me once, shame on you...ya fool me ya can't get fooled again"

What if Bay never learns from his mistakes and makes TF4 in the exact same way as the rest. Shaky cam, no depth, stupid humans, etc... Why should he make it different? Why is this movie going to be different than all the crap that came before it? Grimlock? Is that why? They had access to character like Devastator, Soundwave, even Jazz, and that did nothing to elevate their status. The dinobots are cool, actually they're awesome, but so was Devastator before bayformers.

If the movie is bad, are you guys who all defend the 3 movies going to say "oh it was good" or will you acknowledge Bay's failure?

I thought DOTM would be the straw that breaks the dinobot's back. Sure it was nice to look at with 3d and all. That wasn't Transformers right? Sure it's the same title. Did it relay the magic of the 80's movie to the new generation? Any of you have kids, I'd be interested to know what you think. Do you think that your kids experienced the same or better/worse experience with bay's stuff?

Look at how IDW treats Transformers, wouldn't you like to see that on the big screen. See billions spent into recreating the Lost light or something?

Am I the only one that feels the huge disappointment? Or is it just a case of learned helplessness from the fans?

Here are the ratings from critics/audience reference"
Transformer 2007: 57%/85%
ROTF: 20%/68%
DOTM: 36%/61%

Animated tf movie: 50%/83%

Let's assume, that you are a person who doesn't agree with an aggregated score like Rottentomatoes and think all the critics know nothing about movie standards. Putting the audience ratings aside for a sec, if Tf4 rated 30% on RT, would you be willing to admit it was bad?

I'm not ignoring the audience ratings by the way, I'm more concerned about the huge deviation between the two, there has to be a reason for it. Are the critics stupid, or is the audience?

You have to see that it's harder to admit it was good after 3 "rotten" movies <60%. The probability that the 4th time sweeps people off their feet is...well..unlikely. It sounds like it would be great to get a poll, and see how it develops through till the movie.

It goes without saying that everyone has their opinion and all, and I'm sure we all like the franchise in one way or another. But when there is this huge amounts of money involved, one can't help but think it may be a waste...just imagine it...the lost light in a movie! Or Last stand of the Wreckers. That's a movie people will resonate with... overlord doing what he does best. That would be a different level of Transformers all together. Or they could make the classic colorful G1 movie we have been waiting for, maybe like what Spielberg did with the Tin tin movie. That's a good rendition of cartoon to 3d right?

As for me, if the TF4 turns out to be amazing, I will express that and admit it's good.

To be honest, I don't expect anything from TF4. I'm pretty sure this Movie will be terrible, and if I like first Transformers La Movie, I belive that Bay at his own can't made good Transforemrs Movie. I only wish this time he really leave franchise after AoE (Yeah... We heard that one before aren't we?).

Well, I thought each TF movie was an improvement over the last, and now that Bay knows that the franchise has a large fan base, I think he'll probably try harder to make this one appeal to... other fans. The fact that he's including Dinobots, when he doesn't care much for them, should be proof of this.

If TF4 is not an improvement, I will commence deep, deep, deep nerdrage. I will write an angry post on a fansite and yell at my basement walls.

I will drown my sorrow in food, which I will eat untill I hate myself.

Also, I would sue Michael Bay for the crime of childhood rape.

What would i do you ask?... nothing. Absolutely nothing. cause there really isn't anything you can do. If i don't like it, then i don't like it. Its a movie. Not a remodel of my house. What appeals to me, may not appeal to someone else and vis-versa.

As far as critics go, i never cared what they thought of movies. They go into movies looking for different things than the average movie goer, so thier opinion won't be affecting mine. And that goes for all movies, not just TF related ones.

TBH I found DOTM to already be an improvement over the previous film - still not as good as the first one, but an improvement nonetheless.

As for this one...this one's got Optimus in samurai armor riding a ginormous robot T-rex. If that's not winning half the battle right there, I don't know what is. ;)

To be completely honest, I think I'll just get hyped for the movie, be hyped after it and then simply wait till i get the DVD release, maybe a few figures if they're good and then I'll go on waiting for the next Transformers TV-show to come.

For me all that matters is that I get my TF-need statisfied so can have something to think about and discuss about in Seibertron.com forums.

Sheesh, I really need a life, don't I...

I wrote this movie off back in 2007, after the first one. What will I do if it's not an improvement? Same thing I'd do if it was an improvement: shrug and continue to wait for the inevitable reboot.
