Lots of TFs at the thrift store today:

You cant tell but that is Cybertron Wing Sabre. They were asking way too much for it though, it didnt even have the shell that covers the Jet nose.

This is what I took home

Deluxe Movie Ironhide
Cybertron Defense Hotshot
and G1 Mini Spy

Until today I had no clue who these minispys were. Turns out they were from Takara's Mecha Warrior line and were the first toys to have rub signs in G1 to sell the idea that you couldnt know on which side they were. And thats even when purchasing them, it was blind. So while there are only 4 molds, there are 3 colours they can come in and they can be good or evil and there are 2 different pull back motor variations meaning there are 48 variations of these 4 molds. Don't know if anyone has them all or cares to own them all. I have the 1 and that's all I need.

The whole line began encorporating the rubsigns just a bit before the minispies actually appeared on the minibot cards and were advertised in a commercial. The first ones I actually saw rubsigns on were the Jumpstarters, and it took a while to figure out what it was, I just thought it was some weird black stylized symbol at first.

Wow man, thanks! Maybe you could send a message to the TF Wiki which seem to have it wrong then:

Mini-spies were the first toys to debut with rubsigns, and the only way to determine whether a given Mini-spy toy was an Autobot or Decepticon was by rubbing the rubsign.

I think the Mini-Spys were actually first as an early 1985 release would pre-date the running change made to the Seeker mold that gave it the rubsign indent.

I think :P

Why did you change the title? The previous title was better. :-P

And I haven't found anything new in any store around here for quite a while. :(

Good day at the hunt. Though I didnt expect it to be. The thrift store was ravaged from the week-end, this is what the toy section looked like:

Image

And all that was left were broken toys, like 1/3 of Bumblebee:

Image

And an animated Starscream's legs:

But then I found this was left behind

Image

So for 3 $ I got 2 nice gobots and G1 Seaspray in great shape (plus an incomplete gobot and a gravity bot starscream.

Oh and I found Ice Pick covered with dust on the floor, so I gave him the spotlight, poor guy needed it.

I always wanted to try it out but since I heard so much negatives about him I was never going to pay the after market prices. But for 2$, I said why not. And now I can actually rate him if ever I make a list of best Hot Rod/imus toys.

And about hunting, I went to the dollar store the other day and it was OVERUN by a ton of TF KOs of 15 year old molds!

Oh man, I don't even remember the last time I saw interesting knockoffs. I've already got that set, but I'd be half tempted to pick one or two up for kicks.
