My favorite console is SNES, mostly because this was the first console I owned as a kid and all the memories. It also has some of the best games ever and even plays Gameboy games with the Super Gameboy.

In case of any doubles, most of that is due to me inheriting my brother's stuff when he was killed four years ago.

My favorite system, by far, is the SNES. It's my favorite generation of games in general (Genesis and TG-16 are also really nice systems), and all of my favorite genres are well represented on it (JRPGs, beat 'em ups, platformers). It's also a generation that aged really well, especially compared to the generation that followed it. Early 3D games just look so ugly to me now. :/

I also love the NES and GBA, those are probably my numbers 2 and 3 respectively.

But I guess SNES. Playstation was a magical time but it was my first taste of loading screens, and some games were just terrible. SNES had great quality in games at the time, and it still had the 'pick up and play' feel of older systems. Its also the only system I sometimes feel like going back to, say, play super metroid one more time.

I've used to be a big gamer, but I've downsized in recent years. I currently only have an Xbox One S and a Switch. I have a Dell laptop that I sometimes run older games on, if the mood takes me.

I like my Xbox due to the number of games available, but I have to say that the games I do have for the Switch (Breath of the Wild, Odyssey, Mario Kart 8, and Skyrim) are all amazing.

Honestly my fav is probably gaming on my PC. It is a lot more cost effective since I already own my computer for work/life stuff. Biggest bonus is I don't have to pay monthly sub fees to play with friends. To be honest I hardly play console games much anymore.

I plan on getting a ps5 to play ps2 games on. The ps5 can be uesd to play kof 15. I might get a ps4 for Samurai Shodown. I wonder if the ps5 or ps4 can play dvds. My favorite console is the ps2.

My wife and I share these consoles between us:

• Atari VCS, NTSC, CX2600-A four-switch model. Still works, but may need a slight cleaning and overhaul. TONS of games for that system.

• Super Nintendo Entertainment System, PAL. Possibly a 1-Chip model given how late I got it.
• Super Nintendo Entertainment System, NTSC, 2-Chip Motherboard SNS-CPU-GPM-01. Has a slight video issue in which lines of the BG color appear on tile maps, can't really isolate the fault.
• Nintendo 64, PAL
• Nintendo GameCube, PAL, DOL-001(EUR), equipped with Game Boy Player.
• Nintendo Wii, PAL, RVL-001(EUR), so it has GameCube support if needed.
  
• Sony PlayStation, NTSC U/C, SCPH-1001. Has the typical FMV skipping.
• Sony PlayStation 2, NTSC U/C, SCPH-30001. The laser sled worm gear likes to dislodge on that one. I also accidentally pulled out the ribbon cable connecting the Power and Eject buttons, console side
• Sony PlayStation 2 Slim, NTSC U/C, SCPH-75001. Takes a while to get games started on that, I think the laser may be beginning to fail.
  
• Sega Genesis Mini

The setup planning's beginning to be a pain, especially with Nintendo eliminating certain video types (mainly S-Video vs. RGB) for certain regions. Not talking about PAL devices on NTSC TV's here, though I am grateful Y'PbPr component video and HDMI are region free

My PAL NES, SNES + Super Game Boy and N64 are back in the Netherlands, hoping to bring them back here from my next trip there. I'm currently looking into New 2DS, PS3, Wii U and the Switch OLED model, and possibly a Super Game Boy 2 with the corrected clock speed.

Favourite...It kind of goes by years rather than in general as they are all great and given me fun times, so it has to be the one i've played the most.
xbox 360 (and it still has some better features than xbox one!). Ps1, Snes and Amiga all come close but with emulators in mind/what can be run on other consoles the 360/xbox one has them covered.

Asthetically gamecube and for its ease of access to ports/cards.
Best control pad feature the VMU for dreamcast -I guess using a PS vita as a contol pad is kinda the same thing, plus that avoids the thumb ache I get on any PS pad.

Just added a Nintendo 64 to my collection... NTSC to compliment my PAL one. Plus Expansion Pack so no worries about running games like Perfect Dark. $100 if you must know, includes OEM AC Adapter, 3rd Party AV cord (a cheap one , thankfully I had some OEM ones handy) and OEM Controller with, you guessed it, a wobbly analog stick. Added Killer Instinct Gold to the package.

My plans? Clean it inside and out, see if it has any video mods (RGB to be precise), fix that Analog stick and get a cartridge adapter to bypass the (pathetic) region lock so I can check some Japanese games. I do wanna upgrade from composite video because that's just one short of BAD.

My favorite has to be my Nintendo 3DS, i play pokemon X version, Omega Ruby and Ultra Sun so much. ALthough Rotom-Dex NEVER SHUTS UP.

Some progress here: I got HD Retrovision cables for the PS2 Slim and a cheap Component Video Switcher (DSW3-1 if you must know, only one available really...), got it hooked up and it's marvelous (if pixely, but that's 480i for ya...), especially compared to the AV to HD Adapter setup. And the icing on the cake? You know when the PS2 is running PS1 games, it switches to 240p, which some TV's don't support over Component and HDMI? Well, turns out my TV converts 240p to 480i via interlacing, so I can properly play both PS1 and PS2 games.

As for the fat PS2, I found out why the laser gear liked to dislodge: the ball bearing holder in the motor for the worm gear was missing, and the kicker was I didn't realise it until I found the piece by pure chance... Anyway, also got new ribbon cables, installed one and as of now it can run PS1 games, but no PS2 yet. Looking for white lithium grease to make the DVD drive move more smoothly, and maybe a new lens to solve that problem.

On the side, found my wife's VCR/DVD combo and it accepts S-Video! DVD tray needs fixing but hopefully I can use that as a means to upgrade my N64 output; S-Video into VCR/DVD to Component. Thoughts?

Added a Switch OLED and Switch Lite (my wife's) to the overall collection a couple months ago.

And the PS2 has hit a snag. Still won't load DVD games, so I went ahead and checked the pots (potentiometers) on the laser head with my multimeter, and it confirms again that PS2 was a botched refurbish. There are two pots, one for CD and the other for DVD, and the latter was already lowered from factory setting, close to the recommended limit. If I'd lower it any more, the laser would burn out instantly. Definitely getting a new laser for that one. And now the Slim is having issues. Sigh...

Hard to pick a favorite. Probably either the Xbox or N-64. Mainly because of all the hours I spent on them with my friends as a kid. (those Halo Lan parties are something i miss to this day)
