TRU rerelased both the original Megazord and the Black redeco. Which is better and whch is more worth it if I can only buy one and do not have any yet?

Also, is 100$ (shipped and all) the right price for this guy?

Black and Gold is really pretty, but only temporarily pulls on your nostalgia strings. If you just want one to occasionally pull down and mess with to reminisce about MMPR, get the original colors.

I've seen the black Legacy Megazord, in store no less (to my surprise, never knew about the guy), for $80, the same price as the Legacy Tigerzord. The black version is more of a limited trophy piece than anything else, so the original color as a toy will do fine. The black guy would go well with the Legacy Dragonzord however. :)

thanks guys you have all been really helpful. Most of all, I didnt know that this was not a straight up reissue of the original from 20 years ago. The lack of working wheels and lesser complexity kinda ticks me off.

Expect to pay through the nose for the '90's american version, and sell a couple kidneys for the zyuranger original, IF you can even find one.
I bought one a couple months ago, after having only seen it on ebay once or twice over the past 6 years or so

With some apologies for reviving an old thread

The Legacy Dino Megazord is, while I wouldn't say a "scam", not so great of a product. At its core it's just the 2010 MMPR Dino Megazord toy that was sold for $30 at a time when Disney didn't want to make a new show and Saban hadn't bought the franchise back. I got it at the time and it's certainly a good $30 toy with a nice universal joint system that has permeated every subsequent line. The Legacy Dino Megazord is that same mold, with some die cast parts and more paint applications. The added diecast seems to be okay on the Dino Megazord alone, but becomes problematic when you try to make the Mega Dragonzord or Ultrazord combinations, because the Dragonzord is extremely heavy, Titanus's claws have some die cast of their own, and all the die cast in the Legacy Megazord is concentrated above the knees. The result is an obscenely top-heavy combination that the mold was never meant to support. Also there's an oversight in the Ultrazord chest piece that damages the stickers on the Megazord chest.

I don't know if you've made a decision yet, but if you haven't, here's my advice.
If you plan to create the full Ultrazord, track down a 2010 Megazord. It shouldn't cost too much. For example, here's one for $30 USD plus shipping. Hopefully shipping to Canada isn't too horrendous, but it is technically international so IDK.
If you just want a good-looking Megazord for your shelf and don't plan to collect the other components for the Ultrazord formation, the Legacy (in classic colors) is a solid choice.

THANKS! I had made my choice when I realized that it wast the same megazord from the 90s but a smaller version without working wheels. My choice was that it wasnt worth the money and I could be happier with some TFs instead. But it still bugged me, I was wondeirng if I missed out. But your post is awesome and reassures me that i didnt make a bad decision and that if ever I really do want to go down this rabbit hole, I have another option which is a better value.

So once again, thanks!

I feel I should point out that BoA is planning on re-releasing the Legacy Megazord later this year. So it's best to wait on that before going online because of the possibly price tags.

Haven't heard anything new since. However, danger is afoot, because I read in one review of the black and gold version that the mold is showing signs of degradation. Maybe it's the plastic easily showing marks, but I'm keeping my eye on it.

Frankly I think they should just remake the Legacy Megazord entirely with a mold that's designed to hold its own weight and not a mold that was never meant to hold a ton of weight on its wobbly knees, but that's just me. 2010 Megazord was the very first Zordbuilder zord, they're allowed room to learn.
