He is all one pard hu? No cab fitting into an exo suit to be found there? How exactly was that done I wonder?
Still if city commander is actually CHEAPER I gotta go with that.
Actually, If titanum U.M. is much closer to scale with my convoy o.p. than I guess I could choose titanum UM.M to C.C. but only if he is damn close to scale. Otherwise C.C. has it on titanum.
It has to be said that City commander is one bad ass toy fellas.

tits Ultra Magnus is smaller than Classics Prime.

And with my knowledge of Titanium figs, he'll probably fall apart if you so much as sneeze in his direction

Soundwave was the worst offender, but one of the coolest. I don't know about Ultra(never saw him), but my experience with Titaniums is the later waves got much better in terms of holding together and not collapsing. Rodimus and Prowl are solid figures in both modes, but maybe I just got lucky.
I really hope they relaunch that line and bring us the Soundblaster and others that had prototypes.

But like Dead Metal says, tits Magnus will be smaller than Prime

Actually I think that honor goes to G.I Joe Megatron.

And yes I do own him, so I can say with first hand experience that his legs and arms would come off at the slightest of touches.

He looked awesome, he just couldn't stay together top save is life.

I liked a lot of the designs used for the Titanium line, but I've coped without die-cast since the 4th year of TFs and didn't see it as anything more than an extra cost. Reports of how unstable earlier waves were put me off the whole thing. Sad, as Rodimus, UM and especially WW Prowl and Grimlock would have been really welcome on my shelves. Not that I seen any of them mind you.

Yup, sadly its actually like that.

When I pulled mine out I started by trying to dislodge his leg from the plastic, the leg just poppped right off. Next I tried to dislodge from the arms, again I got just the arm off, and the rest of him stayed in box.

Next I pulled at his torso, and what do you know It came right off too. :BANG_HEAD:
Finally I pulled out his lower tors and other leg. So I ended up with 4 pieces of Megatron just for trying to get him out of the package.

City Commander, hands down. Add the iGear upgrade set if he isn't G1 enough for you.

Go with City Commander. Sorry man....there's no other option that looks and IS as good as what FP did for the character.

I recommend you stay as vigilant as possible to get both classics UM and FP CC at a good deal. Just be patient. It's honestly the best route. IMO.

No, not if you sneeze at him, it you look at him, well his arms at least.

Titanium Ultra Magnus is overpriced due to his rarity, but he's far from a horrible fig. His colors are more meant to fit the Sunbow cartoon colors. Sure, he's a bit undersized but there are some figures he does display well with if you already have them - The G1 Robot Masters, Music Label Soundwave and other Titaniums.

As far as Titaniums go, you might want to check out Rodimus Prime. He actually displays rather well with Classics figs and will cost you a LOT less than Protector.

I'm a little late jumping into this conversation, but if the original poster would like an idea what the City Commander option might look like in a "Classics" display along with other movie/season 3 characters, here's an example:

Image
Sorry he's in the back row... but that's what he gets for being amongst the taller ones on that shelf. Anyway, the point was to supply context, not a detailed look at Magnus himself, so mission acomplished, I should think.

Sorry, didn't mean to be a thief! Anyway, if you're still looking for Spike and Daniel, while they don't have any more in stock right this moment, looks like BBTS is expecting more sometime in February.

Reguarding your list... If you ever do manage to complete it, I'd be keen to see the results. Myself, characters who existed pre-movie such as any of the Seekers, Astrotrain, or Sideswipe, I tend to leave them with their fellow pre-movie characters. (I make an exception I suppose for Grimlock... but with the movie cast I use Masterpiece Grimlock and with the pre-movie cast I use Classics Grimlock.)

Anyway, I know it is getting a bit off topic here, but here's my movie Decepticons:

Image
(Ignore the marshmallow man... He's just there for moral support. Or maybe to have an evil-god-fight with Unicron. :P )

If you need a stand for Unicron (so he doesn't look silly with his ring being horizontal) the one I have is most excellent, and also available at BBTS.

Back to Ultra Magnus discussion...

I'm also trying to get as much as that animated movie cast as possible in Neo G1 form.

Gotta admit, though ... could use a better Spike and Daniel.

Anyhow, City Commander is the best UM made so far. Get the PE Ultimate Form upgrades if you can afford them. They do make him even more badass. Plus, they come with an Eject and Rewind homages, also good for a Neo G1 animated movie cast.

I'm not sure how much there is to discuss after City Commander, RID Magnus, and Titanium Magnus. Maybe Animated Magnus? He doesn't quite fit IMHO. But maybe for someone else he'd be good.

Holy $hit dude nice display!! City commander looks suprisingly good even with all that size on him. I mean I want u.m. to be larger than all else even prime to an extent. Thats how he is portreyed in the toon.
I didnt know there was even a springer out!! What line is he from? I also love that hot rod. Of all my figures I am mostly let down by my hot rod. I have the one that comes with cyclonus in the two pack and he is just awefull imo. So again, what line is that one from?
At least I got what is imo the best reinditionb of cyclonus. I just wish those annooying heat activated insignias were replaced by real deal insignias.

That springer is Fansproject Warbot Defender.

BBTS has a restock preorder for him.

As for Hot Rod, it might be classics Hot Rod but he is wearing fansproject Protector armor.

This is what it looks like with (L to R) Classics, Henkei, Battle in Space

decepti-scott, you say you have the Battle in Space Rodimus? If you have interest in the Fansproject Protector armor, it is worth note that while it isn't horrible, the colour doesn't match as well as it would with the original Classics or the Henki Rodimuses. However, Reprolabels came out with a sticker set to try and make the two pieces mesh together a bit better.

Edit: Oh, and the version of the armor that LOST Cybertronian linked to is the clear version of the Protector armor, BBTS does seem to be out of stock on the regular version. Robot Kingdom seems to still have it, though. It looks like it's gone up in price a bit, alas.

So Im itching to get City Commander but the prices for Ultra Magnus is crazy. I tried looking for KO ones but didnt see any available. Are there any reliable places to source one?

Will a KO version fit in the City Commander armor?

Probably going to get Protector armor for Hot Rod too. Finally got my display case put together and need to round out the cast.
