Singapore based XM Studios, producers of officially licensed statues for the likes of Marvel and Top Cow, are working on a Hasbro figure too: (yet another) Optimus Prime, with a very Cybertronian/Earth hybrid looking design, and a cool display background. No other info at the moment other than the images below, but check them out!

I think Prime's head looks quite evil there but overall that looks great.

Meh.

If this were Superman or Spider-man this would be the most iconic version of those characters. So why is it whenever companies do Transformers statues they have redesign the characters from scratch? I'll never understand that, I find it disrespectful to the source.

I can see that.We all have our favored renditions of our favorite characters. To deviate from that design in many cases mars one's very personal definition of that character. As a staunch G1er I can definetely spot the obvious homage though(much like you and others no doubt.)

In my opinion, the bulky silhouette and greebling in this version represents G1 Optimus Prime as he would appear in a "real world" setting. When I see this version I can easily imagine Optimus transforming in a believable way, lumbering across the terrain with his massive frame, and that blaster of his charging up before releasing a deafening plasma blast. I especially appreciate how his aesthetics harken back to the bulkiness(blockiness?) of good ol' G1 designs.

And no I won't be getting him. (Sideshow Collectibles Skeletor is on the way and serves as this years overpriced collectible)

He feels more like a mech suit or something to me. It does look cool though! I like the lower legs.

perhaps its to give the statue so much detail that you could literally look at it for hours or have it be the center of a discussion that wows your friends when they see it :-?

Not really seeing the whole "disrespect" angle here. Seems a bit over the top with regards to your describing the intentions of the creators, IMO. Obviously, they are hoping to make a profit with their rendition, as opposed to pissing people off en mass and wasting time and resources to not even break even...

"Let's see... 'Gripping the handles on each side with both hands pull steadily until the Matrix opens completely. Matrix may give off blinding light, this is normal. Use of the Matrix may result in fits of madness, rage, and/or death. If you experience these symptoms discontinue use of the Matrix and contact your maker immediately.' Sounds easy enough, thanks Google."

Still not feeling the G1/Movie hybrid style designs, but didn't Prime1Studios make statues like these before?

Is it me, or do these have a slight hint of a "How to draw" image from Pat Lee?

Official Images, Description and Prices for XM Studios Optimus Prime Statue

Last seen on display at STGCC in September last year, we have a listing for XM Studios' licensed Premium Collectibles Optimus Prime statue on their own website. This provides us with not only much higher-quality images of the product, but an extensive description of the item as well!

The 1:10-scale porcelain statue will feature a base, two different right arms, a replaceable energon axe for the left hand and an optional rocket-pack for display options, as well as an openable chest with (non-removable) light-up Matrix and light-up eyes. As an extra, it even comes with a smaller companion statue depicting Prime's classic cab mode!

The statue is priced at $2,199 SGD retail price, or $1,979 SGD "prestige price" (about $1700 and $1500 USD respectively) or an $800 SGD deposit can be made to secure one - which is important, since the run will be made-to-order. Shipping is unavailable to North America, Europe or the UK, but ranges between $300-620 SGD for South East Asia, East Asia and Australia.

Check below for a selection of images from the listing, and click here for even more pictures, the full description and to possibly order one if it catches your fancy! Share your thoughts in the Energon Pub Forums, and don't forget to stay tuned to Seibertron.com for more Transformers news!

XM Studios is excited to present our first Transformers Premium Collectibles series statue,Optimus Prime! The noble leader of the Autobots is immortalized in amazingly detailed 1:10 scale cold-cast porcelain. Each painstakingly handcrafted statue is individually hand-painted with the famous XM quality finish. Crafted from scratch, every nut, bolt and wire is lovingly designed and sculpted ground up by a team in mad love with the Transformers G1 era of cartoons. Inspired by one of our childhood favorite 80s cartoon, we took the G1's iconic form design and XMized them with modern details, to better fit in today's expectations of sophisticated robotry designs. We have spared no effort and designing these original pieces took our core team almost 2 years, resulting in an amazing balance of retro beauty with a sleek modern details. And of course, how can we leave out XM's love of switch out extras? This statue comes with Energon Axe, Leadership Matrix and intricately detailed Cybertron Base and we've even thrown in the Rocket Booster Backpack to give Optimus the added firepower against the Decepticons. This is not all - what's a transformer without it's alternate mode? Yes, this statue comes with a companion statue, the iconic Freightliner FL86 cab over semi truck so collectors can enjoy the beauty of both bot and alternate mode at the same time! Prime would be proud!

It's beautiful... :APPLAUSE:

Too bad likely no one here is going to buy it though, unless you're brave enough to drop $2k on a statue... I can barely afford a Masterpiece figure :-(
