No, I'm not Québécois! I actually watched the English subbed version when I was I a kid in England (on BBC), but I believe the original language for the cartoon was indeed French (and Japanese), so it's no surprise that Québec TV also aired this.
I recently 'acquired' all 26 English-language-episodes on my computer in excellent quality, and I've been watching the first couple of those episodes. Not as epic as I remembered (of course!) but still fun.
Most of the Ulysse toys and figures (made by Popy) were only ever released in France, it seems, although some did make it to England. Not even sure if Japan ever received a toy-line.

Glad to see another Goldorak fan! I too, had downloaded and watched the whole series.
Two thing disapointed me: When a new cool and baddass character apperear, they always have to go all kamikase for no reasons so we can never hear of them again. Also, anti-climatic ending.

If you can manage to find a print of the original manga by Go-Nagai, you won't be dissapointed. I read them in french before I rewatched the anime. Maybe that's why I did not appreciated the anime as much as I expected.
Still, I just LOVE these action scenes with that 1970's soundtrack!

My daughter wanted a Boston Red Socks Nascar looking pedal car. I figured if she loses interest… I can hang it in the man cave. Also managed to find her the Skylanders "Lightning Rod" and "Warnado"

Having kids…the perfect excuse to be a kid

HEY SMOKETREADER!

Head on over to Toynami.com and they have a completely revamped Robotech line...INCLUDING a G.I. Joe-sized Rand with his cycle armor.

I recently stumbled across these myslelf, and after a couple hours perusing and hearing the theme song from the Macross Saga in my head, decided to dive in (telling myself hey, they "kinda" fit in with Transformers LOL).

They can be a little pricey, but no more so than a decent Voyager, let along a 3rd party fig. They have the Veritech V1, Alpha and Beta fighters, and some of the minor characters mechs already...

I am seriously considering getting a Bane figure, but am still unsure about which incarnation to settle for.

The Arkham version is glorious, but a bit too out there.
I quite like the Nolan one, but are there any good traditional ones around?
Any help?

I think I can add Hot Toys's 1/6 scale The Dark Knight Tumbler and Bat-pod to that list. I've been doing my best to avoid those super-expensive things for as long as I could, but the movies just caved in my resolve.

Even tried tracking down much cheaper and smaller versions of the vehicles, but they were all sold out.

And now, I've even pre-ordered HT's DX-12 Batman and Bane to go with the vehicles.

On the Macross front, I couldn't resist getting that DYRL VF-1S Hikaru Ichijo custom they recently released, the one with the option parts. I've long since told myself, "only TV version Valks." But then, I wanted a DYRL version to go with that 1/6 scale Hikaru figure from Toynami.

So much for iron will....

I got the Men in Black Neuralizer prop and immediately started flashing people.

Sadly it did not work as demonstrated in the movies but it's still a very cool piece.

Were you hoping people would forget you flashed them?

I love dolls.

No, really.

Especially when the box is a perfect display box with great art on the front.
And cheap.

So, I bought myself a couple of Bratz. They were beautiful and only 7-9$ each.

That top shelf is full, but the "monster" Bratz with their eerie glass eyes are really tempting. If they ever get on clearance, I may get some.

Errr.... no.

These will be kept sealed.

Still, I bought a Transformers junk lot recently and I'm getting some tools for my birthday.
Expect something new in the coming months!

I have a sad confession to make.
I love the ANNOYING ORANGE! Well, not literally.
It is the best idea for a show in years.
I admit I am a latecomer to the Orange, but nevertheless, am a fan.

I've been wanting an Annoying Orange toy since learning of him but are those things ridiculously pricey for, well, plastic fruit . First time I had ever heard of him I saw my brother trying to win one from a crane game.

Wal-mart had gobs of them on clearance for 5 bux a pop today.
Picked up 2 different Oranges and my daughter got Marshmallow.
They talk and each say different phrases. They are hilarious!!!

I seriously think I may get them all.

I saw this at Hot Topic the other day and just had to have it. It's a zombie dashboard figurine. It was an awful bright green color though, so this is how it looks after I painted it.

YES! I own this Lego set: the helicopter model isn't great at all, but the figures are excellent. Deadpool is very cool, and I also like the Magneto in this set.

Finally brought back my Hot Toys 1/6 scale TDK Tumbler from the hobby store.

Kind of hard to believe, but I just can't stop staring at it every few minutes. The sheer size and detailing on it just takes my breath away.

I hope your health will not suffer because of that kidney you had to sell to afford that!

LOL! Nope, my kidneys are fine.

I did have to save for six months to afford that, though. The good thing about HT products is that you MUST pre-order in advance to ensure an available item, so I had plenty of time to save my pennies. Also, HT is notorious for frequent delays.

Buying after release is not really an option, as the items will be sold out the minute they hit the store.

2$... 2$ at a local thrift store. A vintage peice of my childhood, right there!

Here's the whole cast Passe-Partout's puppet segment! Ti-Brin is missing a hand, but I can sculpt him a new one with potty or something. Then, I'll just have to repaint them.

Oaky, by your confused looks, you are wondering what the hell I'm talking about.

Passe-Partout was the #1 TV show of my childood, for me and countless Québécois. The show aired from 1977 to 1987. I was born in 1976 so I'm a Passe-Partout kid.

CHECK OUT THE WIKI PAGE IN ENGLISH!

Here's the intro song:

And have some classic clips. All in french, of course.

Nostalgia rush, man, nostalgia rush.

To finish, here's a whole show from 2006, doing a special retrospective about the cult series. In french, of course:
