Your Top 5 Favorite Games

Motto: "May God have mercy on my enemies, because I sure as hell won't."
What are you five most prived, favorite games? And give a reason.

1. Prince of Persia: Sands of Time--It was well written, had excellent gameplay, and the graphics were nice. Warrior Within I didn't like as much, and I haven't played Two Thrones.

2. God of War--I dropped $50 on this game not long after it came out. It was hard, and gave me a couple of headaches every so often, but damn if it wasn't a fun game. I still need to play GoW2.

3. MegaMan X8--For the first time, they had decent voice acting in a MegaMan game. And it was a challenging game, but not as tough as the other ones. This one actually let me win, and it gets bonus points for that.

4. Burnout Revenge--Graphics that could make Gran Turismo weep, gameplay that's even fun when you're losing, and probably a hoot with when drunk with friends.

5. Super Mario World--This'll always have a special place in my heart as the game that got me into gaming in the first place.

Hard to list. 1 and 2 could have been switched around if I hadn't played GoW first. Legend of Zelda and Pokemon defined my video game experience, and the last is just fun.

1. God of War
2. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
3. Pokemon (pick a color)
4. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
5. Megaman 64 (Legends)

1. Shadowrun(Sega Genesis)..it was GTA without the car stealing..but sooo much better
2. Perfect Dark(N64)..It was Goldeneye, but better in every way possible.
3. WCW vs nWo:Revenge(N64)..In my opinion the first really good wrestling game. It paved the way for the modern games.
4. Hunter: The Reckoning(XBOX)..Come on, you get to be a Priest and kill zombies...how awesome is that?
5. SMACKDOWN!:Shut Your Mouth/Smackdown Vs Raw 2006/7..It's a tie between all three. all three were innovative as far as wrestling games go.

1.) The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. (Superb story, engrossing gameplay.)

2.) Sonic the Hedgehog 2. (A classic side-scrolling platformer that is still fun to play and has a lot of nostalgia attached to it. Good music, also!)

3.) Resident Evil. Gamecube Remake. (Superb atmosphere, chilling moments. Exactly my kind of aesthetic.)

4.) The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. (An intrguing game full of mystery that I still revisit even though I've completed it 100%. I also like the music in this.)

5.) Ecco the Dolphin. Mega Drive version. (A brilliant, fun puzzler with a wonderful story. Plus, I'm obsessed with the ocean and the mystery of Atlantis.)

Other favourites include:

Mega Drive: Road Rash, Castle of Illusion, Quackshot, Mickey Mania, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Knuckles, Earthworm Jim.

Game Boy: Super Mario Land, Super Mario Land 2: Six Golden Coins, The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap.

SNES: Super Mario All-Stars, The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past, Super Bomberman, TMNT IV: Turtles In Time.

N64: Super Mario 64.

Gamecube: Sonic Heroes (my girlfriend bought it for me when she bought my 'Cube), The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.

PC: The Silent Hill series.

1. Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night (PS1) - I enjoyed this game from beginning til end with no letdown. The best graphics, music, and gameplay ever. Just plain fun and addicting to play. One time I started playing at 11 pm and didn't stop until 7 am (and also made it to my 10 am college class).

2. Final Fantasy VII (PS1) - While the Super NES had some excellent titles, by the end of its life, I was about to leave the gaming world and perhaps move my interests somewhere else. Final Fantasy VII brought me back to videogames and I never even thought about leaving gaming eversince.

3. Resident Evil (PS1) - I had never played anything like it before. Scared the crap out of me at times, but very fun to play. Many say Resident Evil 2 is the best RE game on the PS1, but I prefer the original Resident Evil with its cheesy B-movie live action cinema scenes.

4. Grand Theft Auto III (PS2) - Again, I had never played anything like this before. For me this game defines "fun and addicting to play". There were times where I didn't even go on the missions, I probably spent 20 hours just going around seeing how much destruction I could make, how many people I could kill, and then see if I could flee the cops and get my wanted level down to zero. One time I had to go out of town, but while I was gone I kept wanting to get back home to play this. Talk about addiction. Again, many say Vice City is the better game, but I like Grand Theft Auto III better. I spent 180 hours in the game! (I also spent 180 hours in Vice City.)

5. Metroid Prime - I bought the Gamecube either for $150 or $200 and got this game for free. I eventually bought 20+ more Gamecube games, but if I didn't, then I still would have been satisfied. Yeah, this game is THAT GOOD, and worth the price of the purchasing the Gamecube console.

You know? My unchanged-since-high-school top game list got a new addition for the first time in years!

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. There are two things I love in video games: expansive worlds, and player options, and to say Oblivion's got both is an understatement. You can do or be pretty much anything you want, go almost anywhere you can see (I'm afraid in my hands it's more Princess Bride than Conan the Barbarian, but the important thing is, I can do that. I can concentrate on zany quests if I prefer them).

(The others are still

Blood Omen- an excellent vamprie action RPG that will spoil you for life against lesser toughguy heroes, full of visceral magic and bloody mayhem as Kain of Coorhagen seeks to bring justice to the corrupt Circle of Nine... at the edge of his sword,

Clock Tower TFF- not only among the scariest, but most beautiful video games ever made, a giallo film for your SNES that sees you rescuing orphans lured into a trap by the gruesome Scissorman and his demented family,

and Super Mario Bros. 3, though I'll admit SMW is the better game, a lot of the things I really loved about it showed up first in #3. Besides, I love the Pipe World and its boss enough for a game in itself,

with various others constantly competeing for slot #5, among them Zelda, Silent Hill, Alundra, MidFFs, Shadow of Destiny, etc).

Motto: "They shouldn't have set their phasers to "Miss"."
Weapon: Cerebro-Shell Launcher
Chrono Trigger: Another brilliant Square RPG with all you'd expect from them, plus a killer Sci-Fi hook that ties it all together.

Legend of Zelda Link to the Past: One of the best SNES games ever made; it rekindled memories of the NES original while doing new things in a flawless manner.

Hitman Blood Money: It really unleashed my inner assassin by presenting a vast variety of ways to off your targets. Staging "accidents" never got old, and the final mission is worth the price of the game alone.

Grand Theft Auto III: It expanded my notion of what you could do in a game. Running missions, looking for Insane Stunt jumps, or just sparking fistfights between hookers and cops Liberty City offered just that.

Rumble Roses and Rumble Roses XX (Tie): It would be easy, and mostly true, to say I love these games simply because so many others love to hate on them. Truth is, these games are just fun. Sure the girls were the draw, but look past that and you'll see solid fighting action that's quite addictive. The first game had a bizzare Story Mode and crazy Mud Matches; the sequel brought in Tag Fights, Street Fights and the Queen's Match. Both titles are much better than the "why don't you just get porn" crowd will ever understand.

1. Predator: Concrete Jungle
It had everything you could want in a "movie" game. You got to play as the Predator, it had a damn good story that was original. Sure the camera sucked and was a pain to control, but nothing beats running around docks slicing and dicing militant stripper/prostitutes/drug-dealers.

2. Mortal Kombat
It's not the game play that has really captivated me, the game play is repetitive, it's the story behind it, how much work Ed Boon and co put into the mythology of MK, the story behind each character, each world, is massive and really shouldn't be limited to just a fighter. Hopefully we can get an RPG out of the MK crew somewhere down the line, and not Conquest mode, but it's own game.

3.Star Wars Battlefront 2
It's awesome, multiplayer A.I., you can be troopers, and eery so often you can go hog-wild as a Jedi, or Boba Fett and clobber the hell out of anything and everything.

4. Chrono Trigger
Hadn't played the game all the way through yet, but god damn if it isn't awesome as hell, so many endings, so many choices. It really needs another game.

5. Halo 2
It's fun, but after you beat the game, all you have left to do is play online, and since my loan for a scorpion tank was denied, I can't hunt down those punk-ass annoying 12 year olds that plague X-box live.

You're not the only one, Xion. I've completed both Shenmue 1 and 2, and I'm still clinging to the hope Suzuki will finish it. I'm not a gaming freak by any stretch of the imagination, but I died a little inside when I found out they put the brakes on the series. :-(

Just in the order as they come to mind.....

1. Cannon Fodder (Amiga) War has never been so much fun :)

2. Lemmings 1 (Amiga) I still randomly hum tunes from this game....

3. Quake (PC) This was the first game i ever bought with my own money. I still remember loading it up and being blown away.....

4. Final Fantasy 7 (PS1) This was my first encounter with the Final Fantasy world. It owned my life for two whole weeks. I cried when Aeris died. Fact.

5. Diablo 2 LoD (PC) I found myself still playing this five years after it came out. Just writing this i'm itching to start again. A truly fantastic game...

And more: Asherons call (PC) played it non stop for two years. Some of the most online fun i've ever had, X-wing vs TIE fighter (PC) huh, you can keep bloody Star Fox, this was where it's at, Pokemon Blue (GB) i still love all the pokemon titles, but you always remember your first...., Afterburner (GG) classic jet style shooter. Far too much fun for it's own good.

So many happy memories....

1) World of Warcraft - Yeah I'll admit it I'm a wow addict :P
2) Half Life 2 - Though the original was good this is the one I started with. (cant wait for the Black Mesa Mod to finish, if you loved Half Life 1 and wish it was in HL2 graphics check out the progress on this mod http://www.blackmesasource.com/ )
3) StarCraft
4) Homeworld 2
5) Knights of the Old Republic - It was everything I had been waiting for in a Star Wars RPG game.
