Interesting topic, I had to dig in my mails to find my first Ebay purchase.

My first ebay purchase was in 2005, one sold-out guy on BBTs and it was Armada Powerlinx HotShot :

However, my first ebay purchase is not my first (online or not) transformers purchase as I started with Bigbadtoystore first, for Alternators Smokescreen and Energon Starscream, back in 2004.

So basically, I started collecting TFs thanks (or because), this little guy (currently on my desk, still a love after 13 years):

But by digging my mails, I found something more interesting : my second ebay purchase (and especially the prices):

(they all got their price multiplicated by 10 since then).

I'm happy to have purchased them on their release when I see today's prices. It only made me regret the transformers I didn't purchased during their release and which are not affordable anymore.

I remember it all too well because I was so happy to get it for such a great deal.

TFP First Edition Optimus Prime.

Normally this guy was being sold for like $70-$100+ back in the day, and I was able to snag one from an amazing seller for just $30, which I had no problem with. After I received it I was amazed, truly felt like a more premium Voyager class figure- especially the packaging, it's a beautiful box as well.

I have to say I think TFP was one of the best line of figures we've gotten from Hasbro- well, most of them for that matter. Just some different paint apps could've made it 10x better, but the molding of each figure was fantastic.

Sorry to Necropost, but I just found this while searching for something else. But I've actually had my eBay account for 20 years! It's older than my kids (13/14), and my marriage (going on 17 years).

I'm not 100% sure what my first purchase was as my history wont go back that far. I know I registered in January of 99, coming off of Botcon 98 the previous summer, when I was in love with BWII at the time. I got LioConvoy and Galvatron at SDCC that year, but I think I was really looking for a Takotank. I eventually ended up getting two, one form eBay, and another in trade form a fellow fan for some Headmasters VHS tapes I had copied

. The One came in a really damaged box, so I sold it on eBay as well.

I keep seeing ads that say you can find *anything* on eBay, as rare as some Transformers items are, we all know that's just not true, unfortunately.

I remember mine well: Cybertron Override. Loose and complete, for $9 plus $4 in shipping. Still have her, although her key was sadly lost to my mom's steamroller approach to tidying. :-x

Pretty confident that my first Transformers eBay purchase was TF Animated Safeguard. Not a perfect figure by any means, but one I’ve always liked for his/their utter uniqueness. That and my very serious love of Animated, and it’s amazing toyline.
