Ziplock bags for storage?

I've heard that Ziplock bags sometimes fuse with the plastic that Transformers are made of. Is this true? What are some ''safer'' alternatives?

I don't use em. Condensation can occur if your in a wet or humid and hot climate with the possible breeding of unwanted fungi or sticker decay (G1 applicable) in the instances of extended storage periods.
I just use newspaper. Hella cheaper and it absorbs moisture plus it offers a wee bit of ding protection like bubble wrap....but the poor mans' version.

That's my two cents on the subject anyways. Those previous statements are theoretical for the most part but seem to make sense too me.

I've used ziplocks for nearly 20 years to store various toys and bits and pieces. Nada, zilch, nothing. If anybody has photos of bags melting etc, please post them, I'm curious to see te outcome

Funny you should bring up zip lock bags as I have a load of various sized Transformers in storage boxes which I want to get bagged up.
They are stored in boxes of shredded paper and their weapons/extras, so as you would expect they are all over the place!

Guess I will have a bit of dusting to do! #-o

Where I work there are boxes of zip lock bags which I can have, so I intend to get them all bagged properly then reboxed amongst the paper.

I have never heard of bags sticking to the figures, heck, whenever I pop to a fair/con type event a lot of traders have their figures of various types bagged up!

The problem seems to mainly occur where the item is made of "garbage plastic", aka good old PVC. When the plasticizers rise to the surface, as they invariably will, it chemically reacts with the plastic in the bag, thus causing it to stick to the figure.

It's not really a problem with TFs, but it's a large issues with just about anything Bandai makes such as Power Rangers figures. In those cases I've taken to using paper lunch bags.

I keep all my figures' accessories, as well as small figures like Legends, in Ziploc bags (within larger storage bins), so I HOPE they're OK!

It would be nice if he was re-released. That way i wouldn't have to spend hundreds on eBay for him. I'm the kinda guy who has to have a few of the same figure if i like them. And i LIKE MP Grimlock. 8-}
