Twincast / Podcast Episode #348 "Uno"
Uno - What a day for Transformers! The Seibertron.com Twincast / Podcast has let the dust settle and discusses a world where the trailer for Transformers One has debuted in episode 348. From space, back to Youtube, and all the way to Cybertron a surface dissection of the scenes of the trailer travels to several topics, including the appearance of a "Xerxes-like" Starscream. After more talk about the upcoming Masterpiece Ginrai, the death of Masterpiece as a brand is briefly mourned before its glorious rebirth into MPG is noted, with some interesting theories arising about the future of Masterpiece G as we know it. Issue 7 of the Skybound Transformers series has the cast pondering the fate of a few bots. A new listener question about an obscure line of toys is tackled and the 2005 edition of 40 for 40 reminds us of some great classic toys. Bragging rights is abridged but we keep it quick with some Korean KOs, the Reflector 3-pack, some 90s European market exclusives and the world's best Transformers Convention report from Dairycon 2024.
Twincast / Podcast Episode #347 "Swooped In"
Swooped In - Episode 347 of the Twincast / Podcast swoops in to look at all the latest in Transformers while looking back once again. The episode begins with onsite commentary about the Wondercon Studio Series toy reveals such as Bumblebee Movie Shockwave and the highly anticipated Studio Series 86 Leader Class Swoop, plus Bumblebee Movie Sunstreaker and Gamer Edition Sideswipe who are already in the hands of the crew for discussion. The toy talk continues with an unsurprising leak of Legacy Sideburn, a new Target 4 pack, leak of a possible Masterpiece God Ginrai giving new life to the MPG line, and yet another Collaborative reveal with the TMNT Turtle Van challenging the dais to buy 4 copies for the display. This week's installment of the "40 for 40" segment takes us to the year of 2004 with Energon leaking all over and the crew taking the podcast into the shop for a new Alternator. As always, the joy of Transformer collecting is shared as Bragging Rights brings the show to a close.

For those unaware, the Transformers One Toyline will also be split between Studio Series and its own main line and we can see how the toys differ between the lines since we have images of Optimus Prime from both lines. Interestingly enough, due to the deco, several fans are preferring the mainline deluxe version (called Prime Changers) than the Studio Series deluxe. The mainline deluxe is also $5 cheaper. You can see them below. We also see Alpha Trion who has a very similar deco to Botcon's - Read More

We got our first look at the upcoming Optimus Prime toy from Transformers One yesterday. While many fans liked the design, the toy’s hollow limbs, lack of paint, browning plastic, and simplicity (especially with those exposed arms in vehicle mode) made fans assume that this was not meant for the Studio Series line. Well turns out it is. This will be this year’s release of Transformers One Optimus Prime in a non gimmick line while all other Prime/Pax toys will be released in the Transformers - Read More

Hasbro and Paramount have been pretty good at keeping the bot designs for the upcoming Transformers One film a secret, revealing them to the world tomorrow. But we got at least this ONE leak before tomorrow’s trailer. It is a toy of Optimus Prime. We do know with certainty the line or size class (since once again, the movie toys are being released by in 2 different lines) but it does give us our first good look at the design the film is going for. Also, note that this is indeed Optimus - Read More

Blokees has gotten the Transformers license to make small chibi style models of Transformers designs. Their previous efforts have all been G1 based, and you can see the products in the links below. The G1 products came in blind boxes and that's the only way their website sells them so places like Ali Express have sellers who sell them per individual character. Their newer models are more expensive but come with bases, effects, and LEDs. They are based on the Rise of the Beasts - Read More

Transformers Legacy's Commander Magmatron is out in Asia (predominantly Honk Kong) and in the UK thanks to InDemandToys. So fans have him in hand and are giving us the best look at this figure, and comparing it to the original. We have a pictorial review that delves into that by TheDapperScrapper. Read it below. The full dinosaur set comes out really well with them, all being bigger and more articulated than the original. The new textures and colours also makes them really eye - Read More

Cinemacon was full of news for Transformers fans and here's one that may be very divisive. The head of Paramount, Brian Robbins, announced that they would be extending their deal with Lorenzo di Bonaventura, where he'll keep producing movies for them. This was announced at the same time that one of Lorenzo's upcoming projects was now in production: the Transformer GI Joe Crossover film. This is a film that Bonaventura has promised he would deliver, and it seems he is truly intent on - Read More

Really good news for the Transformers brand. While the upcoming animated film is trying different things with the Transformers lore (like the characters discovering Transformation), it is testing very well, better than even TMNT Mutant Mayhem, as it is said to be the best tested animated feature in the studio's history. Word is that Paramount’s upcoming summer animated tentpole Transformers One is the best tested feature toon movie in the studio’s history and will surprise many. In - Read More

While tallying up the various responses to the Transformers One footage shown at Cinemacon, we got a sense of the story, and it appears that the villains of the movie will be the Quintessons. This is pre war and more about the origin of Transformers, so it makes sense that the Quintessons are an element. Both Orion (Optimus) and D 16 (Megatron) will team up to take them on, while also searching for the Matrix of Leadership (this film's MacGuffin) Indiana Jones style. We also know from a - Read More

Paramount had their panel at Cinemacon today and it looks included 2 Transformers projects. It was said, as confirmed on Cinemacon’s Twitter, that the Transformers GI Joe movie is in development. The only other detail we have is that Steven Spielberg is an executive producer, which has been the case for the previous Bay directed films. Paramount also showed the trailer for Transformers One, which is confirmed to come out in September 13. Below are descriptions of what was shown from - Read More
