I wanted to take a moment to wish all of you a Happy (and safe) New Year! There's a lot of exciting things in the works on this site as we gear up for what should shape up to be the most exciting year ever in the Transformers hobby. 2007 will be the year that forever changes our "little" hobby. I hope all of you will stick around on SEIBERTRON.com as we continue to grow and change to meet the ever "transforming" needs of the community. On that note, I'm shutting down the ol' laptop to start getting ready for my New Year's plans. Stay safe my friends ... 2007 is almost here!

Throughout tonight and tomorrow morning, I will be launching bits and pieces of a new registration process. This will entirely replace the phpBB registration process. This is the first phase of launching the all-new SEIBERTRON.com forums over the course of the next month. The reason I am launching the new registration process ahead of the rest of the changes is to help the forum staff deal with the influx of spam-bots that we are receiving on a daily basis.
Getting rid of phpBB has been something I've wanted to do for a very, very long time. The new SEIBERTRON.com forums will enable me to make a sweeping set of changes that will effect the entire website from Heavy Metal War to the Ultimate Caption Contest to the Seibertronian Profiles to the News Section. There will be no more work arounds that deal with limitations of a forum system from a 3rd party. I have every bit of confidence that these changes will be welcomed by the entire SEIBERTRON.com community as you guys start seeing these changes take place.
In order to make the transition a little smoother to the new registration process, I have disabled registrations for the time being. Within the hour, I will be disabling the ability to edit user accounts. Disabling these functions will allow me to download the most current version of the site's master user database to ensure that all of your data makes it to the new version of the user database.
Because this involves one of the most used database tables on the website, there will most likely be errors throughout the various sections of the website.
I will let the community know when I'm ready to have people help finding areas on the website that need to be upgraded to use the new database. Please be patient throughout this process. I will keep the community posted as further details become available. Thank you for your understanding.
Ryan

As many of you know, I like to provide you with major world events when they happen such as 9-11, Hurricane Katrina, the 2005 Christmas Tsunami and the deaths of American Presidents. I think it is important to share this information with the massive worldwide population of Transformers fans that visit SEIBERTRON.com. Yes, there are things that happen in the world that aren't Transformers related.
On that note, a political figure that was head of the country that serves as ground zero for the mid-east turmoil was executed earlier this evening. Weapons of mass destruction or not, ex-President Saddam Hussein is no longer among us.

Former First Lady Betty Ford says former
President Gerald Ford has died at age 93.
Gerald R. Ford, who grew up in the western side of Michigan (near Grand Rapids) was
the 38th President of the United States. Funeral plans for former presidents are written out by the Presidents themselves and kept until their death by the Military District of Washington, which oversees state funerals, and then the funeral is performed to their wishes.
Ford, the oldest of the living ex-presidents, has requested a state funeral and a burial at his presidential museum in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Good morning, my fellow Seibertronians!
I hope that all of you are enjoying your Holidays. I think this is such a wonderful time of the year to spend with family and friends. It also brings a smile to my face thinking about many of you opening a gift that contains a Transformer from a special someone.
I'm doing Christmas a day early this year at my Dad's house on the east side of Michigan. Later today, after the Chicago Bears trounce the Detroit Lions, I'm heading back to the west side of Michigan with my youngest brother and sister to go visit our Mom and Grandma for Christmas day.
My
Dad got me the TRU exclusive Beast Wars 10th Anniversary
Optimus Primal and
Megatron. I've wanted it for a while but since I already owned the Takara version, I didn't get it yet. Did you get any Transformers from your family or friends?
Well, I'm off to do brunch with my family before the Bears/Lions game. I just wanted to stop by to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas. I hope that all of you enjoy this special time of the year.
Happy Holidays!
