Is your bank account too full? Did you not spend enough at the holidays? Well have we got an idea for those spare shanix! Coming to us via site sponsor Big Bad Toy Store, we have a very cool way to spend some of that cash that's just burning a hole in your pocket. Action Toys, who make licensed, higher end collectibles, have done a couple of incredibly detailed figures of Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus (also incredibly large, at 17" in height!) that sacrifice being able to transform for some incredible features: removable armor parts, in order to see the robots' inner workings; lights, sounds and of course, Optimus' iconic ion blaster. Well, now, they're issuing a version of Optimus Prime which has all the aforementioned features, but includes new tooling that replicates his battle damage from the 1986 movie. Check out the photos below, and click on any of them to be take to the pre-order page! Please note that should you choose to order this figure, a non-refundable down payment is required at checkout.

Product Description

This fully licensed piece by Action Toys is a huge, non-transforming Generation 1 Optimus Prime, with Matrix, moving faceplate, and removable armor to show the inner workings of Optimus Prime's body. Imaginarium Art is really using that Transformers license to its maximum. They just teased the Quintessons and are now teasing Ironhide. They mase a post on their Facebook page using an image of IDW Ironhide and wrote "You have a rodent infestation! He is in the schedule. Anyone here disagree?". This is just a teaser of course and the final Ironhide model they will have will probably take a lot of cues from his G1 look, judging from their past designs.

They have posted a slew of other images on their Facebook page as well. They have multiple images of their assemply line for the Rodimus Prime statue (a finished sample can be seen here), images showing their 3d printing development for Devastator parts, and images of a yet to be assembled Nemesis Prime.

Enjoy all these images below!

Fellow Seibertronian Hotconvoy has some news for us regarding Valentines Day, the next festivity / holiday / commercial excuse featuring Transformers items: a pack of Valentines cards sporting the designs nicknamed 'evergreen'!

The pack of 27 lenticular cards priced at $2.79-$2.99 were spotted in a City Market - the Kroger owned chain that operates in Colorado, Utah, Wyoming and New Mexico - and each pack appears to have 9 designs featuring Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Megatron, Soundwave, and Starscream in a number of poses and combinations. In addition, the designs are lenticular, meaning that tilting the card will give you different images on the same card (up to three, it seems like from the packaging). Check out the images shared with us below, which hail from Littleton, CO!

If you were into Transformers: Robot in Disguise, you may have come across the tiny collectable items (in blind bags) known as Tiny Titans - non-transformable, but quite dynamically sculpted little bots of the cast from the show. The figures also came with collectable cards, featuring artwork of the accompanying character, such as the one recently posted by artist Emiliano Santalucia on his Facebook art page!

Check out below a rendition of the leader of the Autobots, Optimus Prime, as he dazzles into an action pose, ion cannon and battlemask and all. What do you think of the artist's take on the style of the show's animation? Did you ever collect the cards or figures? Join the discussion in the Energon Pub!

Imaginarium Art has been producing a number of impressive concept images of upcoming statues they are developing, and that number is expected to grow with the next unique (and probably really sought after choice) that is next! If it's one thing we know is that there are not many options available of owning much related to the Quintessons aside from a few offerings here and there, those loveable Sharkticons like Gnaw, and some stuff coming from the Third Party sector. ImaginariumArt on Facebook has dropped a teaser for something I think we can all appreciate due to the rarity of Quintesson related collectibles when it comes to the wide multiverse of Transformers.

Kumastyle, a figure review website, got their hands on the new Flame Toys Transformers 01 Drift (Kuro Kara Kuri), a non transforming premium collectable figure.

They have given us both a video review and pictorial review. You can see all the accessories which include eight pairs of hands additional faces and the coolest sword ever:

The part that I found the most cool of all of the accessories is the hilt gimmick on Drift’s larger sword where you push the handle in and the hilt expands while changing the color of the orb in the center (shown in the video portion.)

Below is the overal score Kumastyle gives the figure, along with a video review followed by several images from their pictorial review which can be seen fully here.

Overall Score: 9.9/10 – As stated above, I have a very strong bias towards non-transforming homages that focus on look, build, and articulation like this piece does, so take that as you will. However, regardless of your preference on whether or not Transformers toys need to “transform,” there’s no denying that this Drift piece not only delivers but absolutely excels in what it aims to do. Flame Toys not only gave themselves a big, extravagant introduction into the world of Transformers collectibles but gave consumers an amazing piece to close out the year with.

The holiday season is almost over for many countries and cultures (though we have yet to enter the lunar calendar festivities, of course) but in a number of lagging, lapsed, or observant Catholic communities the Epiphany is just round the corner - meaning that Italy has a whole new holiday to gear up for on the commercial front, with the tradition of Befana (a witch-like character who brings sweets and coal to nice and naughty children respectively on the night between 5th and 6th January), and stockings are currently in shops next to the sale of Christmas merch, also including Transformers Robots in Disguise-themed goods!

The images below come from a variety of shops in the country (Carrefour, Coop, Conad, Esselunga) but are almost entirely distributed by Walcor's, much like the advent calendar we reported on here, and also include two mugs filled with chocolates, with prints of Bumblebee and Optimus Prime. Check it out!

Thanks to a heads up from Seibertronian news supplier Scottimus Prime, we have word that the Jada Diecast cars from Transformers: the Last Knight have gone on sale at Target! The particular figure shown here is the 1:32 scale Barricade figure, based on the characters new alt mode see in The Last Knight, and features the 8 barreled cannon that is toy features on the roof. The die cast also includes opening doors and the robot mode design etched into the bottom. The die cast would normally cost $6.99, has been knocked down to $4.88. The figure was found at the Target in Long island, New York.

Is this price drop enough for you to hunt him down? Let us know in the comments section below!
