Hasbro, via their Hascon subsite has announced that Hascon 2019 has been postponed with no additional information about a reschedule. Originally slated for September 6th through to the 8th, 2019 in Providence, Rhode Island at the Rhode Island Convention Center and Dunkin' Donuts Center. Whatever issues that have caused the delay are unknown, but be assured we will keep you updated on the matter here on Seibertron.
Today, we have some very special and unique news to share with you. Seibertronian TulioDude was fortunate enough to attend CCXP 2018, which is a Brazilian Comic Con Experience. The event featured a very large media presence, and among the many booths at the event was one dedicated to Bumblebee and his upcoming movie! TulioDude was kind enough to take a ton of pictures of the event, and even wrote us up a description of the event to go with his pictures. Check out the full experience below!
TulioDude wrote:The first three are the Bumblebee statue that was present.Upon close inspection it seems a advanced version of a papercraft, mixed with metal and lights. Its was very well done.
The place was built to resemble a garage with few tools and different models of TVs,as you can see the next three photos.
The other side had few games resembling an arcade with arcade like cabinets (pretty sure one of them was Metal Slug), one pinball machine (a Bumblebee movie themed one) and a stage with people playing Just Dance with some 80’s songs and a few more. There was also some dioramas like the previous one seen in other conventions around, but I did not manage to get more photos of them. An overall view in the next pic.
Of note, one of the highlights was one arcade cabinet with a Bumblebee game, which could be played by up to two players in split screen. I thing this game was seen elsewhere before but I don't remember where. There was also the same in a few smart devices nearby. The next four pics show this. The toy store named ToyMania, was one responsible for selling Transformers merchandise there. It was a selection of the Bumblebee line, Studio series, Cyberverse and miscellaneous ones. If bought anything, you earned the convention exclusive cup, and any if spent more than R$199,00 (Brazil currency remember) in total price, you get the exclusive shirt (i didn't get one). All this seen in the next nine pics. The pin-bottom was the prize for playing the Bumblebee arcade game.
To cap it off one last pics of the tools and one of the outside view.
It's not everyday that Hasbro themselves share reveals through Twitter. Through a tweet regarding the Bumblebee film showing in LA, they posted an image of toys, three of which are new reveals.
Here is the Tweet:
We’re in #LA kicking off the world premiere of the @BumblebeeMovie with a showcase of our #Transformers #BumblebeeMovie products! Who’s ready to #JoinTheBuzz?
And here are the toys:
Speed Series Cliffjumper
Nitro Series Blitzwing
Nitro Series Dropkick
While these are of course aimed at kids and not collectors, the toys have been selling well with good word of mouth regarding value, durability and the gimmick. So these could be fun toys to add to any kid's Christmas stocking.
Here are the images posted with the tweet showing the new toys, enjoy!
You ready for this? The Snakas blog attended Tokyo Comic Con 2018 and took every image they could possibly take. So, while we did see the Studio Series display already, with leader DOTM Megatron, we can now see every other display in full. Below you will see images of the following displays:
Studio Series with more pics of Megatron and Igor, as well as more images of Jetfire, his combo with the new Optimus Prime, and every other release.
Siege, with finished toys for Starscream and Ultra Magnus. We can see where the battle damage will be on Starscream's alt mode. We also get a good look at Ironhide which has a really odd colour pallette. While he looks unifnished, there is no mention that he is a prototype and he even includes the final battle damage deco on his feet.
Masterpiece with more shots of the Optimus Prime ver 3 grey model.
G-Shock Optimus Prime display.
Samurai Sword display.
Merchandise booth with the feudal Japan theme for both Optimus and Megatron.
The Bumblebee movie display included Encore Big Convoy and our first look at his box which is a perfect homage to his original packaging. Regarding Bumblebee, there was a big event with Tessho Genda, the voice of Optimus Prime (and Batman, Kratos, Sylverter Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger) in Japan, who confirmed was going to voice Optimus again for this film. There was also a video from Hailee Steinfeld introducing the latest trailer. This can be seen below.
There is an absolutely gorgeous display of Studio Series figures at Tokyo Comic-Con 2018 right now. They arranged the figures per film so there are six seperate displays (with some extras to fill out the TLK display). The main attraction here is the full reveal of leader Dark of the Moon Mgatron. This is the full finished figure, so this gives us a perfect idea of how he will look like when he comes out next year in the second quarter. He does still have those boxy lower legs, as expected, but he looks rather magnificent (aside from the tarp's fabric pattern), and Igor is there too. We also get a great look at Jetfire and his monstrously sized face. The images come from Twitter user @QVx9l3YcRlSEntk.
Tonight, we have some truly special news for you regarding a friend of the site who is also pretty dang talented with his artwork.
Thanks to a post by artist Marcelo Matere on his Instagram, we have the really cool honor of letting you know that his original line work for the Power of the Primes Predaking toy, the artwork that was eventually featured on his poster and his box, has ended up in Brazil's Museum of Image and Sound! His artwork is featured in the Mega Exposition Comics, which features tons of artwork and artists who have worked hard and passionately in their fields. Matere has worked on Transformers now for 15 years, which includes multiple pieces related to the toys we all know and love, and he has done some covers and interior work for IDW during his long comic career as well, so this recognition is well deserved!
Check out his artwork on display below, and let us know what you think of it in the comments section below!
I received this photo of an original of my Transformers Power of the Primes line that is part of the mega-exhibition Comics that will be in the Museum of Image and Sound (in São Paulo) until March 2019!
Thank you@ivan_costaby invitation! Glad to be recognized after 15 years working with these giant robots! Hope you like it!

As the whirlwind of Thanksgiving and the craziness of Black Friday winds down in America, we have a neat piece of news for you all! Over in Michigan, in Detroit's annual Thanksgiving day parade, they featured a brand new giant balloon. Specifically one featuring the autobot leader we all know and love, Optimus Prime! Sponsored by local MI bank Chemical, the balloon is larger than life, standing, or, uh, floating, at several stories tall. The balloon is based on the evergreen design of Optimus Prime, joining the list of new TF promotional products to make use of that design. Take a look at some photos of the balloon, provided by a local news channel, down below!
Black Friday is here. As it turns out, while there are Black Friday deals, they are not from the usual suspects. Amazon doesn't have any obvious deals today in the US, Toysrus has nothing on sale Transformers whise in Canada and there is nothing of mention from Walmart for either country.
However, Amazon.ca has has delivered big time. Power of the Primes Predaking is only $136 CAD right now (just a little over $100 USD) which is a huge discount from the original $230 CAD price. Their exclusive Nemesis Prime is also discounted by 30% to $49 CAD ($37 USD).
As for the US, the major deals seem to come from online retailers for imported products. For isntance, BBTS has deals on all those ridiculously expensive MP Coneheads along with Shattered Glass MP 10 while TFSource has deals on MP Skywarp, Gold Lagoon MP 10 and more.
