Seibertron.com member Sky Glory of Iacon has posted a link to a response by acclaimed film critic Roger Ebert which is partially a defense, but more of an explanation as to why he reviewed Transformers Revenge of the Fallen the way that he did.
Still in heated debate as to whether or not the sequel was the box office smash its shown to be, he raises some interesting points on how many of Transformer fandom have reacted to his review of the film, and shows how even though the sales receipts show it was a success that not as many fans held onto that opinion.
Now about those who sincerely believe "Transformers" is a good, even a great, film. I sincerely believe they are wrong. I don't consider them stupid--at least, not (most of) the ones who write to me. Some of the posters at certain popular web forums are nine blooms short of a bouquet. But on the other hand look at the spirited discussions on the movie forums of the all-Transformers-all-the time seibertron.com, where a Paramount exit poll showing "90% of those polled thought the second film was as good or better than the first one" has been received with ridicule. Significantly, those are moderated forums.

With the film
Angels & Demons pulling a distant second with 19 errors, its hard to justify the large amount of movie mishaps, but some of these seem to be more of personal point of view issue than an actual mistake.

In a report posted on the official US Air Force Air Education and Training Command webpage, we get a look at how the everyday lives and support that the military gave for the filming of Transformers Revenge of the Fallen helped add to the realism of the film.
The US Air Force members of Altus Airbase started off as consultants for the film, but soon became more than that:
"Initially we were just there to kind of babysit the airplanes but then, before you know it, the director started getting us involved in some of the scenes," said Capt. Judd Baker, 58th Airlift Squadron, one of the C-17 Globemaster III aircraft commanders during filming at Edwards Air Force Base, Calif., and Holloman Air Force Base, N.M..
"Every time they would have something going on with the C-17s, it was, 'Would this be real? Would this be how you would do it? Is this how you say that or was this what you call that?,'" Captain Baker said. "And whatever we said, it was, 'Yep, change that in the script. That's what we'll say.'"

In a report at
Breitbart.com, it is stated that Transformers Revenge of the Fallen may be the worst reviewed movie ever to possibly reach $400 million in sales domestically.
It's been common knowledge that movie critics and mainstream movie goers don't always agree, but this difference could mark one of the biggest in movie history.
Critics "forget what the goal of the movie was. The goal of the movie is to entertain and have fun," said Rob Moore, vice chairman of Paramount, which is distributing "Transformers" for DreamWorks. "What the audience tells us is, `We couldn't be more entertained and having more fun.' They kind of roll their eyes at the critics and say, `You have no idea what you're talking about.'"
Love it or hate, Revenge of the Fallen is a box office smash and the numbers don't lie. Fans can look forward to the same format of a movie for the third installation of the Transformers Movieverse saga.

In a report done by
Variety's Pamela McClintock, the one day earnings for Transformers Revenge of the Fallen is revealed.

Revenge of the Fallen also earned an IMAX showing record of $1 milllion being shown on 169 screens.
Panela McClintock also stated that
Transformers 2, playing in more than 4,200 runs, has a strong shot at eclipsing the $152.4 million earned by “Spider-Man 2” in its first five days. That film opened on the same Wednesday in 2004.

The
Daily Stab has an article up which the author claims is old news but still interesting. the article is about a man from California, USA a man who loves Bumblebee so much he decided to build him a life-sized monument based on his G1 cartoon appearance and display it in is front yard!
Click the image to see the original posting containing more images of Bumblebee.
This story is a couple months old but I couldn’t find a whole lot of information about it on the web so I thought I would re-share it with you. A Lemoore man decided he liked the Transformers so much that he built a life size replica of the cartoon version of Bumblebee in his front yard.
“I’ve always been a fan of the Transformers,” Tom Rhoads Rhoads stated to the crew at mim. “And when my son was born I decided to make the statue.”
The statue stands at 18 feet tall and built from a used Volkswagen, yes that’s right a used Volkswagen, in this economy who can afford to chop up a new Camaro and besides some of us liked the cartoon characters better!
The statue took him and a friend a year to build in their spare time:
“Sometimes it seemed as if we would never get through it, all the parts spread out, but then it just came together.”
A crane had to hoist the 1200 lb robot onto its feet after the welding was completed. Its legs are made of steel and angle iron to keep it secure.
If you asked me, he should have killed two birds with one stone (sorry PETA) and made the gun in its hand be Megatron. We all know he was a lame gun in the cartoon version, right?
Stay tuned, as Tom’s next project is the semi truck in the back. I wonder what he has planned for that…..

In an article that documents the filming sequences of the climactic battle of Transformers Revenge of the Fallen, USA Today managed to capture the essence of the film Director Michael Bay's handling of the cast and crew and the way the crew reacted and complied with him.
From calling Josh Duhamal a *bleeping* pansy, to telling a pizza delivery guy to "Get those *bleeping* pizzas the *bleep* out of here!!!", we get a good look at the intensity and focus of the filming of the action film.

Seibertron.com member icu2jimy has posted some very interesting information pertaining to the US Government and transforming machines.
In what you would think would come straight out of the live action movie, comes news that the U.S. Department of Defense is looking for a way to manipulate "Transformers" technology.
In a report posted on Breitbart.tv, US officials at the Pentagon are trying to develop mechanical types materials that can change form on command. Now before you start thinking "Oh Yes! The Wreckers are coming to life!", the technology thats being researched is at primary stages of practical use. Several university teams are looking into different ways to make "programmable matter"—made of individual pieces that can self-assemble into tools or spare parts. One of the approaches being used uses sheets of self-folding matter that can form three-dimensional shapes on command.
