Derrick J. Wyatt, lead character designer for the Transformers: Animated series has given us some more information about upcoming toys, release dates and characters for Transformers Animated on his blog
A Delightful Tedium.
After posting
Animated Prowl Concept Art yesterday, Wyatt continues with further information in his
comments section.
First up is confirmation that Animated Prowl with a side car is being produced:
"
The side car is coming! It looks totally perfect too. Hasbro and Takara did a fantastic job on that one."
Wyatt also mentions that Transformers Season Three has not been announced as yet, and is thus "
it's still quite a ways off."
And lastly, regarding the
Animated Beachcomber Concept Art revealed earlier, Wyatt has mentioned his current fate in relation to the series:
"
I worked on Beachcomber's design with designer Irineo Maramba. He was going to be a total hippy slacker type. Unfortunately his speaking part in the early part of season 3 got cut for time. So, at this point, we don't know if he will even be in season 3 or not."

TFW2005.com is reporting that the identity of the
Corvette Centennial concept car, who has appeared regularly in spy photos from the set of
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, has been revealed during a Hasbro Licensing Summit in Malaysia.
The report states that Hasbro confirmed the identity of the Corvette as
Sideswipe!
The licensing summit also confirmed that the Decepticon
Ravage will appear in the film, and have a "very raw beast mode"
The report also confirms that
Megatron will return as a tank (seen in leaked pics
here) and that there
will be a
Devastator combiner, made of toys that merge to form one "Supreme" class figure. Images of Leader-class
Megatron and
Optimus Prime (new mold) figures were also shown.

Griffin on the
Australian TF boards we get a little history for the where's and why's of this line that just seemed to pop up out of the blue, and also possible information leading us to speculate that we could also be seeing a
NEW 'premium'Cliffjumper, another
Nemesis Prime of sorts, and a
red Mirage repaint.
But this is all just rumor, until we get box art, or production pictures of toys, etc., but based on what we already have, and know, perhaps the legitimacy of the others coming to fruition at a later is true.
Check out
griffin's post here to judge for yourself. You can speculate on what they might do for the 3 others mentioned, as well as, what they might do if they keep this
'Special Edition' line going.

Does your G1 collection feel a bit deprived of human characters? Well,
Impossible Toys is now making a Transforming Exo-Suit Spike. The figure will be in scale with your G1 figures and will be released later this year. William from Impossible Toys had this to say:
We have designed and scaled this item to fit perfectly with the G1 fans. The size of the Spike prototype is about 7-8 cm. We are currently working on finding the exact size we feel will be in line with the G1 toys. It also has wheels that will allow it to function and roll in alt mode. The item will be set for release late 2008 or sooner.
William also answered the scale question for us regarding the TFA figures – Sari, Captain Fanzone, and Prof. Sumdac.
With regards to the TFA figures they will also be around 8 cm in size. As in the cartoon the toys seem to change scale a lot of the time, so we tried to come up with a size that will work with the deluxe and voyager class as that is what scale we think most of the toys will be released in.
