For those who can't make Botcon, SDCC is usually a pretty crucial convention.

Why you may ask? Well, at Botcon they make us promise to not take pictures, basically, so they can use the same slides to impress others at this other future big convention we have gotten to know as SDCC.

So now those who have just been imagining what things like 25th Anniversary G1 Hound with Ravage look like, and that awesome G1 Cyclonus with Nightstick, well you can wonder no more.

Here are the highlights, you can skip them and just check out the Tformers gallery if you would like.

Animated
-Animated Sentinel Prime, Elite Guard Bbee, Ultra Magnus, and Swoop
-Animated Activator Cliffjumper new head sculpt!
-Animated Blurr
-Animated Swindle
-Animated Shockwave and Longarm
-Leader Megatron 'Shadow Blade' Repaint- Purple/black deco

Universe
-25th G1 Optimus Prime Re-Issue Exclusive
-Classics Ironhide, Sideswipe, Robot Heroes, Legends, and Exclusives
All pics seen previously, but in the Tformers gallery.
-25th Classics Hound and Ravage. Ravage is supposed to be able to fit in G1 Soundwave's cassette door!
-25th Classics Cyclonus and Nightstick
-25th BW Cheetor Notice the more accurate alt mode.
-25th Classics Inferno Voyager sized.
-Legends Class Brawn and Beachcomber
-Legends Class Bumblebee and Cosmos
-Robot Heroes 'Cheetor Vs. Tankor', RID Optimus Prime Vs. Megatron

Q/A
-Arcee still unconfirmed (Animated or other)
-Original 13 Toys? Want link to comic things so, possible.
-Animated Season 3 NOT green lit, but content development underway. More Wreck Gar!
-Death's Head TF? Like idea, but nothing yet
-Sari/Bumblebee Robot Heroes- idea is there, just need right time. Archer likes human cast toy ideas.
-Japanese G1 Exclusives or Re-imaginings-- 'Celebration of ALL toy lines' so possible.
-More instruments on way for Animated Soundwave- hinted at
-Universe Unicron is TRU exclusive, and not supposed to have any remolding
-More Mighty Muggs coming
-Not ready to talk about a new Wheeljack figure yet
-MOVIE- no info, but toys will be bigger, badder, and even more awesome than previous movie line
-Animated Starscream repaints likely
-No Animated Omega Supreme plans yet
-Alternators love recognized...wait and see, was answer
-No combiner/gestalt plans

Lots of good stuff in the future for fans of Transformers like us!

Past history has shown us that exclusives live up to their name a very high percentage of the time.

The retail price for Nemesis Prime at SDCC is $24.99.

No word on any Titanium Skywarp pre-order, yet. His retail price at SDCC is $19.99.

Seibertron.com member Skalor is reporting with the goods from the IDW Publishing Panel at the San Diego Comic Convention. Here's what he had to share:

After a not so revealing IDW panel today at SDCC, there were only a few new tidbits of upcoming releases by IDW. They confirmed that a Spotlight Cosmos is in the works, and they talked about the upcoming Spotlight Blurr a little. They said to expect Blurr as you've never seen him before (Pre-Great War on Cybertron, not annoying). Other upcoming titles discussed were Maximum Dinobots, Animated, Destiny (Movie Prequel), and "the 13," but not really any content. One thing said about the Animated issues was that Oil Slick, originally slated to be a toy only character, will be brought to life in the Comics. There was some new artwork that was showed from the Blurr issue and the upcoming All Hail Megatron issues (which look great...Ravage!!!!!!) Another tidbit revealed was the creation of a new character: Drift. He's designed really well and is modeled after a "Japanese drift-race car." The real cool news behind this is that they said Drift will be made into a toy by Hasbro. Lots of good stuff coming, lots to look forward to!

But that's not all. Seibertron.com has found a IDW Panel Q&A with writers that are at the convention along with Writer Simon Furman, who is not at the SDCC. This information confirms what was reported above by Skalor. You can find the Q&A here at Newsarama.com.

Allspark.com has reported a sighting of the second wave of Universe legends figures at retail. The wave consists of Jazz, Hound and Megatron. No pictures yet, so this is still just a rumour. The first wave of Legends had been released in Canada earlier this month, so the second wave should not be far behind.

Expect a lot of news this week about things we may have heard of, but can now actually see.

Yesterday, Star Wars Crossovers made their way to the news with the new packaging and the reveal of some new molds, and repaints.

Now we can see out of package pictures of Marvel Crossovers Wolverine, Human Torch, Symbiote Spider-Man Repaint, and the Grey Hulk.

It is really nice to see the Transformers brand extending to connect with other big brands. It can only help to spread the popularity of the overall coolness of the Transformers brand, and perhaps sway a few fans of those other hot brands to check out and support our favorite brand...Transformers!

For those who haven't bothered with these smaller, simpler toys, you may want to reconsider, but it's not my job to convince you, it's HASBRO's.

Here's their pitch to try to convince you, from their display at SDCC we have new Activators including a Police Patrol Car Bumblebee (which we knew about), a Starscream repaint as Thundercracker, an Earth mode Megatron, and finally, Grimlock!

Not to mention the others already known about including Ratchet, Optimus Prime, and Lockdown, as well as, the already released Starscream, Bulkhead, and Bumblebee.

For those who don't know, the Activators line is a smaller pricepoint (think bigger than legends, smaller than scout), where the figures transform (most of the way) with the simple push of a button. Reminiscent to old G1 jumpstarters, battle chargers, and some early Beast Wars figures by using a simple transformation gimmick, these toys also have great articulation, and very show accurate robot modes, and alt modes.

Possible live action movie spoilers below!

Robert Orci and Alex Kurtzman, the writers of the live action Transformers movies, have dropped a few tidbits about the movie when doing an MTV interview including the movie's theme, and some characters that could/could not be a part of it:

#1) You won’t be seeing Dinobots.
“We couldn’t quite figure out how to justify a robot that would pretend to be a dinosaur,” Orci said.

#2) Will Megatron will be back?
Orci and Kurtzman playfully danced around the question. “Didn’t he get thrown into the bottom of the ocean?” Kurtzman laughed, with his partner adding, “That would be silly,” in regards to a return for the arch-nemesis of the Autobots.

#3) Finally, what about the theme of the storyline?
The first movie was about 'a boy and his car'.
So what theme lies at the heart of the sequel?
Orci revealed that “It’s about being away from home. It’s a few years later and Sam is going to finally go to college and he’s going to face being away from home just as the autobots are having to deal with being away from Cybertron.”

#4) Why “Rise of the Fallen”?
Orci deadpanned, “Because ‘Transformers 2' sounds stupid.”

Check out the original information on the MTV Movieblog!
