Transformers novelist David Cian (pseudonym for David Russel) announced on Don Murphy's forums that he'll be writing the upcoming Transformers Movie Prequel novel that will be released sometime in the 2nd quarter of 2007 before the movie's release on July 4th, 2007.

When asked about the premise of this novel, David Cian responded: "I guess I get to own this idea. The storyline is essentially mine, though plenty of input was provided by the various parties involved. Hints... well, let's see now... how about this: you'll get to learn a lot more about the history of a certain secret government agency; a significant part of the story occurs in the far reaches of our galaxy; oh, yes, and there will be a surprise at the end for fans of the film."

You can find the novels written by David Cian at Amazon.com by clicking here. On a personal note, I really enjoyed the 4 existing Transformers novels that came out a couple of years ago. They're certainly not without flaws but they're some pretty dark and interesting Transformers stories that you won't see in comic book form anytime soon. If you haven't read these novels yet, I would highly recommend them.

Hey guys,

I just went to order Metrodome's upcoming Transformers Victory DVD boxset from Amazon.co.uk, which I believe was originally supposed to be released at the end of October 2006. As a matter of fact, I think I just looked it up on Monday because I set a reminder to order it next Monday. Anyway, it looks like it's been pushed back to December 26th, 2006:

Before anyone starts to blame the new release date on Metrodome, this doesn't appear to be Metrodome's fault. Rather, it appears this delay is caused by the UK's rating system (the BBFC I believe) which Raymond T. mentioned here which doesn't prioritize "cartoons" as greatly as other films.

Our very own 83457W422102 sent me us PM to let all of us know of the great sale Toys R' Us Canada is having!

Hey Down_Shift!

I got a new Toys R Us flyer today, and, as usual, I happened to notice that there is another sale on Transformers. This time, it's the 6" 'Cybertron Heroes' Titanium Figures, whose price has been reduced by $5, bringing the price of the figures to $19.87. The sale runs from the 14th of October to the 20th of October.

EDIT - Looks like Jetfire and Thundercracker are out as I just picked them up from Toys R' Us in Ontario! Seems that these two will not be included in the flyers sale.

Happy huntings and happy savings Canada!

Have you seen any new figures in stores yet? If you have, why not post them here.

IDW Publishing has send the following out press release regarding their upcoming Transformers: Spotlight Character, SixShot!

"LONELINESS OF A LIVING WEAPON–THE TRANSFORMERS: SPOTLIGHT SIXSHOT

IDW Presents the Return of the TERRORCONS and Introduces the REAPERS!

San Diego, CA (October 12, 2006)— IDW Publishing’s Transformers line of comics has offered stories both Earth-bound (Infiltration) and Cybertron-based (Stormbringer). This new universe has also expanded through the stand-alone stories seen in the critically acclaimed TRANSFORMERS: SPOTLIGHT series. This five-part series of one-shots kicked off to a thunderous start with a focus on SHOCKWAVE, followed by M.D. Bright’s artistic interpretation of NIGHTBEAT, Nick Roche’s take on HOT ROD, and in December the momentum continues when mainstay writer Simon Furman and artist Rob Ruffolo team up to create TRANSFORMERS SPOTLIGHT: SIXSHOT!

An often-feared purveyor of unmatched destruction, SIXSHOT finds himself isolated and wishing for battle, but he doesn’t have to wait long. Events soon lead him to the distant, war-torn planet of Mumu-Obscura in search of his former partners in destruction, the TERRORCONS. But only after dealing with The REAPERS will SIXSHOT learn the fate of his fellow DECEPTICONS, and in doing so uncover secrets to his own destructive tendencies. Simon Furman, writer of all of IDW’s TRANSFORMERS universe of comics thus far, continues his run here. Artist Rob Ruffolo, who has previously colored some of IDW’s comics, will provide full pencils, inks, and colors on this issue.

“I went out of my way to defy as many expectations as possible in this series, and that included tackling a character I’d never written before—SIXSHOT!” says fan-favorite TRANSFORMERS scribe Simon Furman. “Mind you, the possibilities apparent in this multi-transforming living weapon now make me wonder how I’d managed not to do a SIXSHOT story in the many, many hundreds of pages of TRANSFORMERS comics that I’ve done.”

THE TRANSFORMERS: SPOTLIGHT SIXSHOT, the fourth issue of five all-new TRANSFORMERS one-shots, hits shelves in December 2006 with a 32-page full-color comic book with a suggested cover price of $3.99."
