Long time Transformers Scribe Simon Furman has taken time out of his busy mid-year convention schedule to update his blog with another short and sweet synopsis (that again manages to be as spoiler-free as Furman synopsis go) for the third issue of the Transformers Revenge of the Fallen movie adaptation.

Furman also notes that Alex Milne (Reign of Starscream) will be covering the art duties for ROTF Adaptation #3, with series regular artist Jon Davis-Hunt, returning for the final issue.

Transformers Revenge of the Fallen movie adaptation #3 is set for release this Wednesday the 3rd of June (Thursday the 4th for those outside of the North American Continent), alongside a plethora of other Movie based titles.
Head into your local comic store in order to pick up both the Defiance and Alliance Trade paperbacks, and for those who cannot wait another week to get their hands on Issue #4 of the Revenge of the Fallen adaptation, you can also pick up the full Trade paperback of the Movie Adaptation.
Add to those releases the debut of "I am Optimus Prime" written by IDW's Chris Ryall, and you have one packed week of releases.

It was announced at Botcon that, following the release of the Cliffjumper and Metroplex Spotlights, the title would be going on a hiatus for the near future. In a posting on his blog, IDW Editory Chris Ryall has addressed these rumors by posting the following:

Everyone is too quick to believe unfounded rumors. Not even sure where this one came from, especially since there are Spots coming in June and July, plus 5-6 new movie Spotlights starting right after that.

So starting in August, fans can look forward to seeing their favorite characters from the live action films taking the Spotlight. To see the post in full, click here.

Here're a few highlights from the IDW panel:

IDW is currently in talks to continue Transformers Animated in comics after the conclusion of the series.

The next Transformers Spotlight comic is Cliffjumper, followed by Metroplex in July, and then it will go on hiatus.

There will be four additional issues of All Hail Megatron called "Coda". Each issue will feature two short stories that will tie in with the overall story arc.

With regards to the new GI Joe movie, a question was asked about a possible movie-verse crossover to which the answer was: "Definitely not."

In an interview on Comic Book Resources, IDW Publishing's Director of ePublishing Jeff Webber, some interesting news is coming from the Transformers comic producer.

It looks like IDW Publishing is planning on reaching its patrons in a different form of media: I-Tunes.

Webber is looking to expand this form of comic distribution starting with the major carrier in the mobile comic market, but isn't planning to just stay there.

"We're basically trying to take the IDW line and distribute it wherever people can find it," Webber said.

Looking to take IDW to a digital plane, this comes as great news for Transformers fans who can get their comic fix via their mobile devices.
